It was my twelfth year of dancing,I thought it would end up like any other year:stuck in emptiness, forgotten and without the belief of any teacher or friend that I really had the potential to achieve greatness.

With the end of the year came our show time.As I walked to a backstage filled with other dancers,I hoped for a good performance that would prove my improvement.I waited anxiously for my turn. Finally, after what seemed like days, the loudspeaker announced my name.Butterflies filled my stomach as I took trembling steps onto the big lighted stage. But,with the determination to succeed and eagerness to live up to Shanda, expectations for me,I began to dance. All my troubles and nerves went away as I danced my whole heart out.
As I walked up to the judge to receive my first place shining, gold trophy(奖杯),I realized that dance is not about becoming the best.It was about loving dance for dance itself,a getaway from all my problems in the world.Shanda showed me that you could let everything go and just dance what you feel at that moment. After all the doubts that people had in me,I believed in myself and did not care what others thought. Thanks to Shanda, dance became more than a love of mine, but a passion.

Art exploration is not only fun and entertaining, but also educational. It allows youth to practice a wide range of skills that are useful not only for life, but also for learning. Here are some tips for growing your up-and-coming artist.
Talk with your child about their work.1( ) When we ask “What is it?”,we are saying that it should look like something we'd recognize.Instead, ask open-ended questions like “Tell me about your picture.”You can also describe specific things your child is doing by saying things such as,“You're making short lines.I see you are using red, green and blue.”
Do what your child does.Instead of drawing your own picture, sit down with your child and do their actions.2( ) If your child concentrates on what you are drawing or how “good” your picture is,they are less likely to be imaginative and creative on their own.
3( ) Instead of sitting down with a specific plan or outcome in mind, let your child explore, experiment and use their imaginations. They might make a big mess or change their mind several times—this is all part of the creative process.
Support, don't lead.Have you ever noticed that activities become much less fun when they are told by someone else?4( ) So let them decide what materials they want to use and how and when to use them.Maybe they want to peel (剥) the paper off a crayon and use it lengthwise on the paper, instead of writing with the tip.
Get your child creating and learning.5( )
A.It is the same case with kids.
B.Keep the process open-ended.
C.Don't shift their focus onto their drawings.

(2023·临汾市高三考前适应性训练考试二)
Cimabue, the greatest painter in medieval Italy, was surprised when he discovered that a fly had landed on one of his works.“Shoo!”he shouted, but it remained still. Finally,he reached out to touch the insect. To his surprise,he found only wet paint.Actually Giotto had painted the fly when Cimabue was away, and it looked so real that Cimabue had been completely fooled.
Giotto di Bondone was born in a poor farming family.Legend has it that while he was tending goats he drew a picture on a rock and that the artist Cimabue, who happened to be passing by,saw him at work and was so impressed with the boy's talent that he took him into his studio as an apprentice(学徒).
In the Middle Ages,an apprentice's job was to copy his master as exactly as he could, which resulted in a distinct lack of new ideas. In fact, art in the Middle Ages seemed to have been stuck in a rut.The people in paintings didn't look like real people, and the symbolism of art was often so remote that it must have been difficult for viewers to connect with it on a personal level. But Giotto thought art could be something more.
To accomplish this goal,Giotto adopted many techniques that were uncommon at the time.He painted people the way he saw them, instead of the overly tall and boxy people that other artists painted. He created three-dimensional space by using perspective, something that had not been done since Roman times. Finally,he threw out parts of the symbolism associated with medieval painting. For example,at that time the Christ Child was usually drawn as a mature man who was only a baby in size. This symbolized that Christ was wise even though he was young.Instead,Giotto painted the Christ Child as a baby, which emphasized the human relationship between the child and his mother.
The ideas Giotto brought to painting throughout his life revolutionized the art world and made him one of the greatest painters ever.

In August,Jason M.Allen's piece “Théâtre D'opéra Spatial”—which he created with AI image generator Midjourney—won first place in the emerging artist division's “digital arts photography” category at the Colorado State Fair Fine Arts Competition. The definition for the category states that digital art refers to works that use “digital technology as part of the creative process”.
Allen's award-winning image has led to debates about what, exactly,it means to be an artist and whether AI can truly make art.“It felt bad for the exact same reason we don't let robots participate in the Olympics,” one Twitter user wrote.“This is the literal definition of ‘pressed a few buttons to make a digital art piece’,” another tweeted.
Yet while Allen didn't use a paintbrush, there was plenty of work involved,he said.First,he played around with phrasing that led Midjourney to generate images of women in elegant dresses and space helmets,in an attempt to mix Victorian-style costuming with space themes.Over time, with many slight changes to his written prompt(提示符),he created 900 different versions of what led to his final image. Then he improved its resolution through Gigapixel AI and finally had the images printed.
Allen is glad the debate over whether AI can be used to make art is attracting so much attention.“Rather than hating on the technology,we need to recognize that it's a powerful tool and use it for good so we can all move forward,” Allen said.
Cal Duran, one of the judges for the competition, said that while Allen's piece included a mention of AI,he didn't realize that when judging it.Still,he sticks by his decision to award it first place.“I think the AI technology may give more opportunities to people who may not find themselves artists in the conventional way,” he said.
