第一节(共15小题:每小题2.5分, 满分37.5分)
阅读下列短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。

Nowadays, more and more emphasis is being placed on a building’s “green” certification. On Earth Day, look through four noteworthy green buildings from around the world. One Central Park (Sydney, Australia)
A park at the foot of the building literally continues up the structure, as vegetation of 250 species of Australian plants and flowers cover One Central Park. An architectural website says it has 25% less energy consumption compared with a conventional building of its size.Shanghai Tower (Shanghai, China)
Shanghai Tower has a transparent second skin wrapped around the building which creates a zone of captured air that serves as natural ventilation (通风), reducing energy costs. Besides, 270 wind devices incorporated into the right side power its outside lights.Marco Polo Tower (Hamburg, Germany)
Each floor of Marco Polo Tower is turned a few degrees away from the one below, around an axis (轴线). This allows for recessed (嵌入式) buildings that protect residents from direct sun. This tower also includes many other green features. There is a heat exchanger on the roof that turns warm air into a cooling system. And the natural ventilation can make residents sleep soundly without being disrupted by outside noise.Torre Reforma (Mexico City, Mexico)
Torre Reforma rises to 807 feet and stands tall on energy-saving measures, too. The tower’s slimness maximizes the amount of natural light let in, which in turn cuts down on the need for electric lights. And when the weather permits, controls can automatically open windows to let air in.
21.What do we know about One Central Park?
A.It makes full use of solar energy.
B.It uses a great cooling system.
C.It has many plants and flowers.
D.It has self-control windows.
22.What do the Shanghai Tower and Marco Polo Tower have in common?
A.They are naturally ventilated.
B.They are both transparent.
C.They generate electricity by wind.
D.They harvest energy from sunshine.
23.Where can the text be found?
A.In science fiction. B.In an architectural magazine.
C.In an autobiography. D.In a weather report.

As a big country, China’s economic and political influence is felt around the world. And its influence in education and culture has been growing too. The Confucius Institute offering free language classes has gained increasing popularity in both Hungary and Serbia. By offering opportunities to learn Chinese language and traditional arts, Confucius Institutes bring Chinese culture closer to interested learners serving as bridges between nations.
During my childhood, I held an unspoken fascination for Asian culture a passion cultivated through watching dramas such as the Monkey King. At the time, the idea of studying this captivating region didn’t occupy my mind. My turning point came when the desire to challenge myself led me to choose China for further education. It was a decision — not only for academic growth, but also to experience the responsibility of looking after myself. Taking the road that is less traveled means less company, less comfort. But it also means forging a life with an entirely different perspective I am seeking.
Undertaking Chinese language training presented a remarkable opportunity for many reasons. I firmly believe that acquiring proficiency in the language of the culture is not merely useful, but is also an effective means to truly understand that culture. The combination of learning the language in a classroom setting and applying it in everyday life offers an enriching experience. I participated in the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations held by my local Confucius Institute, such as trying my hand at Chinese crafts providing me with a first-hand experience of the culture.
If given another chance, I would explore even deeper into the rich cultural tapestry that surrounds me. Exploring renowned landmarks like the oriental Pearl Tower previously unvisited, felt like embarking on a new journey of discovery. I can say that along this path, I am gradually learning that valuable lessons unfold step by step.
24.What is the main function of the Confucius Institute in global cultural exchanges?
A.Offering language courses with a very small fee.
B.Fostering international understanding of Chinese culture.
C.Promoting Chinese tourism and business opportunities abroad.
D.Serving as a platform for economic cooperation between countries.
25.What makes the author decide on further education in China?
A.The TV drama the Monkey King.
B.The Asian cultural fascination.
C.The desire for whole-person growth.
D.The dream to study in a foreign place.
26.Why does the author share her experience with Mid-Autumn Festival?
A.To highlight the challenges of living abroad.
B.To encourage others to participate in local festivals.
C.To criticize the traditional classroom language learning.
D.To emphasize interactive learning in cultural understanding.
27.Which is the most suitable title for the text?
A.The Path Less Traveled
B.Language as a Bridge to Culture
C.Guide to Studying Abroad in China
D.Embracing Art: Beyond the Classroom

Velez-Liendo’s earliest memories are of playing in the lowland forests near her village in southeastern Bolivia as a child — “in bare feet, just searching for insects”. When her family moved to Oruro, she took to chasing reptiles (爬行动物), continuing her “appreciation of nature”. While earning her undergraduate degree, Velez-Liendo had her heart set on studying gorillas in Rwanda — until she met an Andean bear in Carrasco National Park.
Velez-Liendo then spent almost three years traveling the entire eastern area of the Bolivian Andes to produce the first national assessment of Andean bears. She identified the best places to invest in protecting or restoring Andean bear habitat and zeroed in on the dry forested valleys of Tarija. But only 6 percent of the original dry forest was left, distributed in a few regions in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. And Andean bears in Tarija are acknowledged as extinct.
In 2016, Velez-Liendo set up camera traps to see if any bears were still in Tarija. In February 2017, a photo of a mother and cub (幼崽) brought hope. Though Tarija’s forests were promising bear habitat, local villagers killed bears for the sake of their farm animals and crops. When another community showed her a group of brand-new bee boxes that people didn’t know how to use, she hatched an idea.
Velez-Liendo asked an expert who had experience teaching beekeeping to train locals in how to care for hives (蜂箱), obtain honey and market it for sale to increase their incomes. In exchange, community members agreed to protect the forest and not harm Andean bears. Velez-Liendo also taught locals how to collect data and help monitor the ecosystem. Today, over 60 Andean bears wander through Tarija’s forests, a remarkable increase from the five bears documented in 2017.
Velez-Liendo wants to copy Tarija’s model in the Chuquisaca and Cochabamba regions to the north. “Engaging more rural communities can provide ‘stepping stones’ of habitat to connect isolated bear populations,” she says. “Conservation comes from the communities that live with this biodiversity. I think that’s how conservation is changing: from the hands of biologists to the hands of people.”
28.What can Velez-Liendo be described as while growing up?
A.A forest hunter. B.An wildlife lover.
C.A gorilla expert. D.A park-goer.
29.What might account for Andean bears’ situation according to Velez-Liendo?
A.The decline of their habitat.
B.The influence of rough weather.
C.The lack of stable financial support.
D.The bad cooperation among countries.
30.How did Velez-Liendo promote bear conservation?
A.By making stricter laws.
B.By educating local people.
C.By establishing bear reserves.
D.By increasing farmers’ income.
31.What message does Velez-Liendo want to convey in the last paragraph?
A.It’s never too late to mend. B.Sharp tools make good work.
C.More logs make a bigger fire. D.Where there’s a will there’s a way.

While stress is an unavoidable aspect of life, studies continue to show too much stress can have a bad impact on both health and well-being. More specifically, excess stress can lead to high blood pressure, increasing heart disease risk. With all that in mind, researchers from the Universities of Maynooth and Limerick set out to better understand how reactions to stressful events impact our future health, as well as if there are any factors that can play key stress-buffering (缓解压力) roles.
The research team suggests that previous research has shown that gratitude and affect-balance (balance of positive to negative emotions) play key stress-buffering roles. However, up until now there have been few studies examining the impact of these variables on cardiovascular (心血管) recovery from severe psychological stress. Researchers chose to focus on this consideration, as well as whether or not affect-balance moderates the relationship between gratitude and cardiovascular reactions to severe psychological stress.
The actual research portion of this project took place at Maynooth University and involved a total of 68 undergrad students (24 men, 44 women) between the ages of 18 and 57. The experiment featured lab tasks which caused stress among the participants, while researchers measured cardiovascular reactivity and recovery in response to the stress.
The ensuing results reveal that a state of gratitude predicts lower systolic (收缩的) blood pressure responses throughout the stress-testing period. This means, researchers say, that gratitude promotes a unique stress-buffering effect on both reactions to and recovery from severe psychological stress. The team also found that affect-balance increases the effects of grateful feelings.
In conclusion, researchers believe these findings hold clinical (临床的) usefulness. There are many low-cost ways to develop grateful feelings that can help promote improved well-being. For instance, one earlier study found cardiac patients who make use of gratitude journals have better cardiovascular outcomes than those who do not. Those earlier projects, in combination with these latest findings, strongly suggest that gratitude is a useful tool in the fight against stress and poor cardiovascular health.
32.What may high blood pressure result in according to paragraph 1?
A.A headache. B.A sleep disorder.
C.Heart disease. D.Difficult breathing.
33.How might the participants feel about the lab tasks?
A.Moved. B.Thankful. C.Disappointed. D.Anxious.
34.Why does the author give the example in the last paragraph?
A.To show gratitude is easy to practice.
B.To suggest we should learn more ways to relieve stress.
C.To explain why the findings are meaningful.
D.To show hospitals should use more treatment ways.
35.What can be the best title for the text?
A.We Should Deal with Stress Wisely
B.We Should Realize the Harm of Excess Stress
C.Excess Stress Can Cause High Blood Pressure
D.Gratitude Can Help Relieve Stress to Improve Heart Health

There are different ways to learn and grow, but all of them involve getting feedback about how you are doing. 36 But whether it is positive or negative, it can bring a lot of value to your personal development.
Why ask for feedback? Because it is the only way you can see yourself through another person’s eyes. You can look at your own work and skills but not see the truth. Sometimes, it’s because you get used to devaluing what you do. At other times, it’s because you overestimate your own ability. 37 Here is how you can make this a regular part of your life.
You should ask other people what they think and how they see you. 38 However, making a habit of it takes the sting out of the experience and allows you to focus on what truly matters.
39 You don’ have to focus only on the bad things or what is not working. You also need to hear what is going well. What is working is as important as what is not. Don’t be afraid to ask for positive feedback, either.
There are a couple of things you can do to ensure you are getting authentic feedback. First, approach people when they are willing to talk to you. 40 Second, don’t get angry. When you ask for feedback, you might hear unpleasant things. They may be ridiculous or hurtful, but that’s fine. Thank the person and decide whether the feedback is useful or not.
A.Tell different kinds of feedback apart.
B.Hearing about yourself may cause some anxiety.
C.Be sure to request positive and negative feedback.
D.Either way, feedback is of great significance to your growth.
E.But you can’t control what feedback others choose to give you.
F.Don’t, for example, disturb them when they are rushing or have a lot of stress.
G.This can be scary because others will not just say nice things or what you want to hear.

“Be proud of doing something honorable that you think might bring you shame at first,” Grandma always told us before telling us this favorite family story.
In 1918, Grandpa worked in a shoe repair shop. He labored on the night shift so that he would be free to take care of the children in the daytime, allowing Grandma to attend school and receive an education.
On the morning of her first class, Grandm a excitedly rushed to dress for school. As she excitedly took out all her old socks, Grandma became sad. She discovered all had many holes. “Forget it, dear. We have no time to repair them now,” urged Grandpa. “You’ll be late for class. And, anyway, I have a surprise for you!”
A moment later, Grandpa handed Grandma her old high-button shoes. But she could hardly recognize them, as they had been repaired and looked beautiful. While she was sleeping that night, Grandpa secretly repaired the shoes.
Grandma's eyes welled with tears of gratitude, “I'll look like a fine lady in these wonderful shoes!” she said. “Hurry! Put on a pair of long socks and the beautiful shoes, and no one will suspect you have honey socks. They’ll be our little secret,” Grandpa promised. Grandm a nodded and rushed out when Grandpa handed her two one-dollar bills for her tuition.
Arriving at school, Grandma felt uneasy in a classroom filled with strangers. Standing ahead was a serious-looking teacher called Miss Peabody. That morning, Miss Peabody passed an empty bowl around the classroom and instructed each student to drop the fees into it. Every student did that. One student paid his fee with a bright two-dollar gold coin.
After collecting all the money, the teacher placed the bowl on her desk. Later that afternoon, when Miss Peabody counted the money, the small gold coin accidentally slipped out of the bowl and fell into Grandma’s shoe. Unaware of it, Miss Peabody discovered the coin was missing. She felt quite anxious and searched around, but in vain.

Meanwhile, Grandma felt convinced that the thing in her shoe must be the coin. As Grandma sat in the classroom, her heart raced. She couldn’t help but feel torn between honesty and the fear of exposing her holey sock in front of the entire class. Eventually, she gathered her courage. Standing up, grandma took a deep breath and approached Miss Peabody. The classroom fell silent as all eyes turned to her. With a trembling voice, Grandma spoke, “I believe the coin must have slipped into my shoe. ” Miss Peabody, touched by Grandma's honesty, asked her to do the favor of getting it out.
Hesitant but determined, Grandma removed her shoe, feeling everyone 's gaze on her holey sock. She felt a mix of relief and embarrassment. With downcast eyes, she handed the coin back to Miss Peabody. “Why do you hang your head in shame when you've done something so admirable?” Miss Peabody asked gently. Grandma explained, “I felt ashamed because of my holey sock. ” Miss Peabody 's eyes twinkled with understanding. “But those holes tell a story of honesty. They make you unique,” she said, and then turned to the class and praised Grandma's honesty. The students listened attentively, with their judgment replaced with admiration for Grandma.

【答案】18.C 19.A 20.A
【原文】
Shinichi Sakamoto is 57, and works for Shimizu, one of Japan’s biggest construction companies. He is part of the greying and falling workforce. According to Mr. Sakamoto, statistics showed that a third of Japanese construction laborers are over 54 years old, and they are considering retiring so soon. And they’re not being replaced by younger builders. “The number of laborers under 30 is just above 10%,” he said. In September, Mr. Sakamoto’s firm gained a promising new co-worker — a robot. It is currently working on a high-rise development in Osaka, transporting heavy building materials every night from the ground floor to where they’re needed. “Can you imagine that materials are in the right position in the morning when laborers come to the site?” said Mr. Sakamoto, “He even works at night time.” Robots will benefit from superfast 5G mobile networks. Better connections will make it easier for multiple robots to cooperate. Many small robots could work together on different parts of a task. An example is the 3D printing robots at a university in Singapore, each of which can print concrete following a computer map. All robots in a group could learn from what one robot is learning. Mr. Sakamoto also introduced other robot workers. The robots operate on their own, performing tasks a manager assigns them on a computer.
第二部分 阅读(共两节, 满分50分)
第一节(共15小题:每小题2.5分, 满分37.5分)
阅读下列短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
Nowadays, more and more emphasis is being placed on a building’s “green” certification.

【答案】28.B 29.A 30.D 31.C
【导语】这是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了Velez-Liendo保护安第斯熊的故事。
28.细节理解题。根据第一段“Velez-Liendo’s earliest memories are of playing in the lowland forests near her village in southeastern Bolivia as a child — ‘in bare feet, just searching for insects’. When her family moved to Oruro, she took to chasing reptiles (爬行动物), continuing her ‘appreciation of nature’. While earning her undergraduate degree, Velez-Liendo had her heart set on studying gorillas in Rwanda — until she met an Andean bear in Carrasco National Park.
根据第二段中“She identified the best places to invest in protecting or restoring Andean bear habitat and zeroed in on the dry forested valleys of Tarija. But only 6 percent of the original dry forest was left, distributed in a few regions in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. And Andean bears in Tarija are acknowledged as extinct. (她确定了投资保护或恢复安第斯熊栖息地的最佳地点,并将重点放在了塔里亚干燥的森林山谷。但只有6%的原始干燥森林被保留下来,分布在厄瓜多尔、秘鲁和玻利维亚的几个地区。塔里亚的安第斯熊被认为已经灭绝。)”可知,根据Velez-Liendo的说法可以推知,安第斯熊的栖息地在减少。故选A项。
30.细节理解题。根据倒数第二段中“Velez-Liendo asked an expert who had experience teaching beekeeping to train locals in how to care for hives (蜂箱), obtain honey and market it for sale to increase their incomes. In exchange, community members agreed to protect the forest and not harm Andean bears. (Velez-Liendo请了一位有养蜂经验的专家来培训当地人如何照料蜂箱、获取蜂蜜并将其出售以增加收入。作为交换,社区成员同意保护森林,不伤害安第斯熊。)”可知,Velez-Liendo通过增加农民收入来促进熊的保护。故选D项。
31.推理判断题。根据最后一段中Velez-Liendo所说“Engaging more rural communities can provide ‘stepping stones’ of habitat to connect isolated bear populations (让更多的农村社区参与进来,可以为与世隔绝的熊群提供栖息地的‘垫脚石’。)”以及“Conservation comes from the communities that live with this biodiversity. I think that’s how conservation is changing: from the hands of biologists to the hands of people. (保护来自与这种生物多样性共存的社区。我认为这就是保护正在发生的变化:从生物学家的手中到普通民众的手中。)”可知,Velez-Liendo想表达柴多火焰高,人多力量大。故选C项。
D

38.空前“You should ask other people what they think and how they see you.(你应该问问别人对你的看法和他们如何看待你。)”说明了你应该问别人对自己的看法,空格处应该对这一做法进行评论,结合空后的“However, making a habit of it takes the sting out of the experience and allows you to focus on what truly matters.(然而,养成这样的习惯可以让你从痛苦中解脱出来,让你专注于真正重要的事情。)”可知,此空讲述的内容与空后的内容为转折关系,G选项“This can be scary because others will not just say nice things or what you want to hear.(这可能是可怕的,因为其他人不会只说好话或你想听的话。)”说明问别人对自己的看法可能是可怕的,是对空前做法的评论,因此承接上文,且与空后的内容为转折关系,符合逻辑。故选G。
39.空格处是本段主题句,空后“You don’ have to focus only on the bad things or what is not working. You also need to hear what is going well.(你不必只关注不好的事情。你还需要了解进展顺利的地方。)”说明了既要关注不好的方面,也要关注好的方面,C选项“Be sure to request positive and negative feedback.(一定要要求积极和消极的反馈。)”说明了要寻求积极的和消极的反馈,概括了本段内容,可作为本段主题句,故选C。
40.空前“First, approach people when they are willing to talk to you.(首先,在人们愿意和你说话的时候接近他们。)”说明了在人们愿意和你说话的时候接触对方,空格处应该说在得到他人反馈时的正确做法,F选项“Don’t, for example, disturb them when they are rushing or have a lot of stress.(例如,当他们赶时间或有很大压力时,不要打扰他们。)”说明了当别人赶时间时不要打扰他们,是获得反馈的正确做法,因此承接上文,符合语境。故选F。

【答案】Meanwhile, Grandma felt convinced that the thing in her shoe must be the coin.
