四、情感表达语篇运用
1.(24-25高三上·广东广州·开学考试)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Holding Mom’s Hand
Technically speaking, my Mom is old-she is in her 70s now. She once used to be a woman full of life and laughter. All of that changed after my Dad passed away about ten years ago. Although they were not what you would call a “lovey dovey” couple, Mom did take his sudden death quite badly. To make matters worse, my brother decided to relocate to another city, while Mom decided to stay behind with her sister.
Whenever my Mom comes over to stay with me for some time (I live with my husband and his parents), she always demands constant attention from me. She generally gets nostalgic (怀旧的) of the good old times we used to spend together discussing pets, books, cooking, or life in general. Sometimes it turned into a complaining session-“You never spare time for me anymore” or “I have become useless to everyone”. I always used to retort (反驳) with “Oh, Mom, please don’t start all over again” or sometimes rudely remark, “How can you expect me to do the things we used to do together years ago? There is no time for such things anymore!” Mom would become silent, probably because she had resigned herself to the way things are now. I could sense I had hurt her but there was little I could do, or so I thought at the time.
Then it struck me-I always try to be nice to people at work. I do random acts of kindness for strangers. I sometimes surprise an old friend with a phone call. But what have I done for my Mom? Why is it that I am so reluctant to hold her hands in front of others? Is it because I am embarrassed to be labeled as “mama’s girl” at my age? Well, I am no longer young myself. Is it because I have taken my Mom for granted because her days are done?
Today was yet another chaotic day. I was occupied in dealing with my own things, getting ready for work, leaving my Mom to have her breakfast all alone at the table. I had so many things on my mind-the deadline at work, an appointment with my dentist, what to cook for dinner...
注意:
(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
(2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

2.(23-24·河北石家庄·二模)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
When I entered my first rodeo (牛仔竞技比赛), I was 12 years old. It was more like a play day than a rodeo, but to a 12-year-old girl like me, I felt like I was at the National Finals Rodeo!
As to barrel racing (绕桶赛), I didn’t know much about it, only what my dad had told me. But I had been determined to enter the play and win the play ever since I was told that my not so much older competitive cousin Courtney would be there. This was my night to finally show her that I could ride a horse just as good or better, and do anything else she could do. She was in for a surprise!
Courtney always thought she was better than me. She always said her horse was better than mine, too. Courtney had a Palomino horse named Buck. He was fast, and beautiful. My horse was a big Appaloosa named Zipper. He wasn’t beautiful or flashy like Buck but he was kind and willing to please the skinny little girl that fed him sugars every day after a day of riding. That was the reason I knew we could beat Courtney, because we had something she didn’t — a partnership, one we both respected.
Courtney and I were in the 12-14 age group. As I watched the men in the arena (竞技场) set the three barrels up in their places, I felt nervous and a little scared for the first time that night. Though I had previously practiced a lot with Zipper, and Zipper raced fast and made turns stably, I still got upset when thinking about racing against Courtney!
I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. Suddenly, I felt a warm familiar hand on my shoulder. It was Dad. He smiled at me, saying, “Are you scared or nervous? Or both?” “Both, but I’m more scared that I’m going to mess up,” I replied, truthfully.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。
“You won’t. Just have faith in yourself, and Zipper,” Dad said.

Game over, I took Zipper to rest, giving him sugars for a job well done.

3.(24-25·江苏射阳·8月月考)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
In my childhood, under the influence of my elder brother and my peers in the neighborhood, I tried a number of outdoor activities. Of course, I was not so taken by all of them. whether I was doing them for the first time or continuously. However, fate had its own plans in store. You never know when an outdoor activity will change my life.
The name of this activity is “fishing”. About ten years ago, I didn't really like the idea of sitting on the bank of a lake or river, spending long hours under the sun's ultraviolet rays, which can cause sunburns and skin damage, and anxiously anticipating some fish to be kind to take my bait(诱饵). In fact, I used to think of this outdoor activity as some kind of “hide-and-seek-game” that is popular with most young kids, except that it was much harder because I could see my “prey (猎物)” only after catching it.
However, all that changed when I paid a visit to my aunt in the countryside during a summer holiday. I was finally convinced by one of my cousins to accompany him to a nearby lake in order to do some fishing practice with him. In fact, he even assured me that fish would eat my baits. So I agreed and went to the lake expecting to catch some fish. Before throwing my fishing line into the water, my cousin did some tricks attaching some sort of food to my fishing pole.
Learning to fish in a river or lake can be challenging for the beginners like me. The act of dropping a line is easy, but being a successful fisher is hard. That's why they call it fishing but not catching But with practice and patience, it can become easier over time. Patience is essential in lake fishing. It may take some time to find the right spot or lure (鱼饵) that will attract fish.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
My cousin had to repeatedly remind me to keep patient.

When we finally left the lake, I had caught three fish!

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Then, all of sudden, I stopped myself.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】
Mom stared at me silently, with a wronged look. Her eyes, once filled with laughter and life, now held a hint of sadness and disappointment. It was as if she was silently accusing me of neglecting her, of forgetting the bond we once shared. The sight of her like that pierced my heart, reminding me of all the times I had been too busy or too preoccupied to give her the attention she deserved. I realized then that my actions had caused her pain, and I felt a deep sense of regret.
Then, all of sudden, I stopped myself. I halted in my tracks, mid-stride, as if a switch had flipped inside me. So, I turned around and walked back to the table where Mom sat, I sat down next to her, took her hand in mine, and apologized sincerely for my neglect. “Mom, I’m sorry. I know I’ve been too busy lately and haven’t been giving you the time and attention you deserve.” Mom’s face lit up with a smile, and I could see the sadness in her eyes begin to fade away. From that moment on, I made a conscious effort to spend more quality time with her, to listen to her stories and share in her joys and sorrows.

“You won’t. Just have faith in yourself, and Zipper,” Dad said. That’s when I realized I was not going into that arena alone, but with my partner! Zipper had been practicing just as hard as me. So I thought, if I messed up, he would be right there to correct me. “I know what to do, Dad. Thank you.” Dad just smiled, “Now go warm up and win a trophy!” Soon, it was my turn. Zipper and I did together smoothly all the way. And to my great surprise and excitement, I beat Courtney and won, though it was just a narrow victory.
Game over, I took Zipper to rest, giving him sugar s for a job well done. While Zipper was enjoying the sugars, I went to Dad. He was sitting in his lawn chair to the side of the arena, watching the riders from other age groups. When he saw me, he couldn’t hide his excitement. “I knew you would make it,” he said. I nodded and hugged him tightly. That night I took home a trophy bigger than I was. Both Dad and I were proud. I knew after that night I would never be able to go to sit in the stands and watch. I was hooked and wanted to be the best.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________【答案】One possible version:
My cousin had to repeatedly remind me to keep patient. He taught me how to adjust my pole based on the movements of the fish and how to determine the best time to lift the pole when a fish was on the hook. Under his guidance, I calmed down gradually, staying focused to wait patiently. Then suddenly, I felt a jerk of my pole. A surge of thrill sweeping over me, I pulled the fishing pole out of water and I caught my first fish! So excited was I that I even gave a jump in the air. It was a small one, but it was a milestone for me!
When we finally left the lake, I had caught three fish! Thrilled and fulfilled, I skipped all the way home with my cousin, telling him it was a pity that I had been missing out on so much by avoiding this simple outdoor activity before. Since then, I have become a passionate fisherman and love spending time outdoors, appreciating the simple pleasure of life. Fishing has taught me to be patient and persistent and most importantly, it has also taught me a lesson that we should not miss out on these opportunities just because they are simple or just we do not know how to do them well.
