He said,“You are my best friend!”
① "Yes," he said.②"You may both go," said Andy.③"Don't move," she said to Mike in a soft voice.

②“You'd better let me go,”teased her twin brother, William.“There are dangers all over this place.”
③“You can go any place you want,”Amy said,“but I think you'll find what you need.”
explain 解释state 陈述protest 抗议sob哭诉insist 坚持comfort安慰repeat 重复agree同意order命令scream 尖叫promise承诺whisper 耳语yell/shout 大叫declare 声称add 补充assure 保证complain 抱怨apologize 道歉announce 宣告argue 争论interrupt 打断beg 请求demand 要求mock 嘲讽claim 声称cry/exclaim 喊叫suggest/advise 建议stammer/stutter/stumble 结巴ask /inquire 询问reply/answer/respond回答
1.“Christine !照顾好你弟弟!”母亲高声喊道。“Christine! Take care of your young brother!”Mother shouted at the top of her voice.
Hannah, do you know where she is? How is she? Please tell me."He begged.

I love to play the piano and I greatly enjoy performing my songs, so when the annual winter recital was canceled, I was disappointed. I had looked forward to it for a long time and had already prepared two of my best songs. My mom had a wonderful idea, however, to turn this disappointing let down into something worthwhile. “You can perform your songs at Carriage House Senior Living,” my mom suggested brightly. “I’m sure the seniors there who do not have families visit them that often, would really appreciate the music and you could play more than just two songs.” I immediately thought this was a great idea. One of the things I did not like about the recitals was that I was limited to playing just a couple of songs. Playing the piano at Carriage House seemed like a win-win situation because not only would I get to play more songs, but I would also have the chance to cheer up the residents there with some lively tunes. My mom called Carriage House and made arrangements for me to perform. In the coming days, I worked especially hard to polish up fifteen pieces that I thought the crowd would enjoy, including many old classics. When the much-anticipated day finally arrived, my family and I drove to Carriage House. Walking through the enormous double doors, we stepped into an entryway that overlooked the spacious grand dining room. Right at the entrance to the dining room stood the piano as if it were just waiting to make some music to liven the place up a bit. At nearly every table several gray-haired women or men were seated enjoying their dinner and the company that the crowded room provided. Despite the conversations going on at various tables though, isolation hung like a dark cloud in the room. Almost immediately, we were greeted by an old woman with a walker who introduced herself as Phyllis in charge of Carriage House. She welcomed me and led me to the stage.

We call Talent Show the biggest stage in our country. I stood on that huge stage, with my throat dry. As I stared at the audience, I knew this moment could change my life forever. When judges asked my name and I tried to speak, nothing came out. The crowd fell silent, waiting for the words to come. Finally I stuttered(结巴地说) my name and my age. “As you can tell,” I said, “I have a speech disorder…”I’d love to sing and had already signed up for the school talent show in fourth grade when I started stuttering.Fortunately, most of the kids at my school were kind, and I was rarely made fun of. I tried speech therapy too, but it didn’t help. I feared to sing in the school talent show. Therefore, I decided to practice at home. To my surprise, the words came smoothly when I sang. And then I decided to learn to play the guitar, which was given as a birthday gift by my father. One afternoon, I walked into the basement, where I kept my musical equipment. My eyes lit on the guitar. I picked it up and started playing. I opened my mouth, and the words came flooding out. Then I wrote a song called I Will Trust, telling the pain IP’d experienced. The next day, I filmed a video of performing the song and posted it online. Hundreds of strangers left comments that I had uplifted them with my music. Ever since, I’ve been writing songs.Last year, I started college and majored in music production. When I saw Talent Show audition(试唱)announcement pop up on my computer, I wanted to have a try. Several months later, I was standing on that stage, trying to calm my nerves as I introduced myself, “I have a speech impediment.” I said, “It was definitely something that caused me to…” I took a long pause to find the words. “…to hide. But I found that I don’t stutter when I sing.”

American football can be pretty competitive. From old opponents to fan drama, it’s just another part of the game. There have even been all-out violent fights in the name of defending your team. However, one high school football player Mario Hoefer showed that his love for the sport didn’t take priority over helping a person in need.
One afternoon in September, Charles City High School football team Mario was on faced nearby New Hampton in a Friday football game. Mario was captain of his team and Carter the quarterback of the opposing team.
It was really foggy and awfully hot. Filled with excited audience in the stands, the stadium felt like a heated steamer. Every player was we win sweat even during the warm-ups. All this meant the game would be a tough one and a test or the mind and body of both teams.
Soon the game began and for the first three quarters, each team seemed to have a chance to win and they took the lead by turns. So exhausted was Mario running back and forth that he cramped (抽筋) up twice. Each time he got a cramp near the New Hampton sideline, his teammates came to his assistance and stretched his leg to ease the cramp. Though feeling uncomfortable and worn out, Mario soldiered on as Charles City protected a slim lead and New Hampton attempted a late comeback.
In the fourth quarter, Mario saw his teammates across the field break up a crucial pass intended for Carter. Mario was about to cross over to the other side of the field to high five his teammates when he noticed that beside him, Carter fell onto the ground, screaming in pain, his eyes wide open and a look of panic on his face. Carter grabbed his left calf (小腿肚), trying to move his leg in different positions. Judging from Carter’s desperate expression, Mario realized Carter was possibly experiencing an unbearable cramp just as he himself had gone through minutes before. But the New Hampton players were farther away from the quarterback.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
Mario knew what to do next.

My husband, Robert Stone and I were enjoying a peaceful afternoon together in Barbados — our vacation destination. It was sunny and warm, and we decided it was the perfect time to go for an ocean dip.
When we were floating around, I said, “What a nice holiday! Let’s swim out, not that far but enough to be out of our depth.” But we hadn’t considered just how strong the current was on that particular day. Although we had visited Barbados several times, we didn’t realize the specific area we floated to was known for its strong current.
Noticing that we were floating in the direction of the neighboring beach, I decided to swim toward the beach we came from, against the current. I soon realized that my husband was falling behind and was suddenly too far away to even hear me. I attempted to swim to the shore to get help but struggled to push past the current. I just couldn’t get anywhere and began to scream out for a lifeguard. But no one came after a few minutes.
Just then I saw two teenage girls boogie-boarding near the shore. “Help! Help!” I screamed. Hearing my cries for help, the girls swam toward me and helped pull me onto the boogie board. One girl told me to hold on tight and tied the boogie board tether (拴绳) to her wrist. The other girl was by her side for support. They managed to swim to the shore and brought me to safety.
Grateful but still scared, I repeated that my husband was stuck farther out in the ocean. I asked for a lifeguard. The girls told me there wasn’t a lifeguard around, and they would go get him. “You can’t do that!” I told them, “Strong current!” The girls reassured me that they were in Barbados as part of a swimming camp and insisted that they were both experienced in the water.

(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
Before I could say anything further, they swam off with the boogie board.

As I sat down on the bench, I pressed a key on the piano and was surprised to hear no sound. Feeling as if the whole world was watching me, I was struck dead with embarrassment. How could I perform the song without the piano? I was on pins and needles when Phyllis slowly made her way to the front of the crowd of dinners and announced in a comforting tone, “This girl has come to sing for us but the piano seems to be a little nervous.” Almost immediately, there was scattered applause and several people stepped forward to help me plug in the piano and set the microphone. With everything ready, I took a deep breath and commenced my performance.
Nervousness melted away and I started to enjoy the performance with the old. One woman got up and began to animatedly dance about the room. Some of the people swayed in their chairs to the beat of the music while others tapped theirs toes. The performance ended up with a storm of applause from the crowd. I realized that it was far better than a piano recital because almost everyone seemed to truly appreciate my music and I’ m proud that I have the power to spread kindness to them. It ended up being a blessing in disguise that the recital was canceled, leading to me sharing the gift of music with those who needed it most.
紧张的:nervous /intense/ be on pins and needles
1】I was on pins and needles when Phyllis slowly made her way to the front of the crowd of dinners and announced in a comforting tone(运用了when引导的时间状语从句)

Then I began to sing a new song I’d just written. I tried to focus on the music, instead of the eyes on me. And just as I’d said, there was no stutter at all. When I finished, the whole crowd was on its feet, and so were the judges. I couldn’t hold back my tears when the judges thought highly of my beautiful voice. For my second performance, I sang another original song. I placed fifth in my round of the finals, with which I was really satisfied.
My performance on Talent Show had a deep influence on me. Now, I’m more comfortable putting myself out there, taking the risk that I might get denied. I continue to have difficulty speaking, yet I’m able to speak fluently through my music. I still find myself worrying about the future I can’t control, but I know that I can go as far as possible. I really feel grateful for the hard times I’ve been through and the struggles I’ve endured, which are what make me who I am.

Mario knew what to do next. He bent over to check Carter. Having made sure Carter was indeed merely experiencing a cramp, he knelt down on the ground and held his left foot, pulling it towards himself to relieve Carter’s pain. Meanwhile, he comforted Carter," Take it easy, bro. You’ll be all right soon." Gradually, Carter’s panicked and painful expression began to soften. When his teammates and trainer made it to him, he had recovered. Carter rose to his feet, giving Mario a big hug to express his heartfelt gratitude. The game continued, nobody realizing the moment had been captured by a viewer in the stands.
The photo was posted on social media. Surprisingly, it received a flood of supportive responses. Thousands of netizens sang high praise for Mario’s act of kindness. Many thought what he did showed the true sportsmanship on the field and that the world needed to see more of such touching pictures. Mario didn’t expect his instinctive action would arouse such a big reaction, saying modestly," It was no big deal to step in to stretch Carter’s leg out. It was more like a brotherly thing to help him out." Mario and Carter, the two former opponents, have since become sincere friends, whose story convinces people of the true spirit of sports.

Before I could say anything further, they swam off with the boogie board. Heart in my mouth, I stood helplessly on the shore, praying for their safety. Fortunately, the girls reached Robert quickly and helped pull him onto the boogie board timely. As they swam in, the strong current kept pulling them back, but they kept going and going. I waited for a few minutes; that seemed so many hours to me. Finally, the girls together made a really good team, and pulled him to shore.
Relief washed over me as the girls and Robert reached the shore. “Thank Goodness! You’re safe,” I said in a trembling voice. With tears in my eyes, I hugged Robert, who was exhausted and still in panic. We approached the girls and expressed our sincere gratitude, “We’re forever grateful to you! We would never come back without you!” But the girls insisted that it’s just what they should do. “We are so glad that you are both okay.” Seeing them leaving, Robert said, “They really were like a couple of angels on the beach!”
