Or maybe you’ve tried to tell someone your feelings, but they are hard to put into words? Well, there’s an app for that! Feel Now is a free app that you can use on your mobile phone. It helps teenagers think about and understand their feelings. It was designed by two17-year-olds, Taara Verma and Siena Pradhan, from the US. Each day, Feel Now sends a reminder to users to record a feeling. The users pick one from six feelings: happy, peaceful, angry, sad, disgusted(厌恶的) and scared. Then the app breaks down each one into 10 more feelings. For example, “scared” can be broken down into “worried” and nine other feelings. You can also describe how strongly you’re feeling as “slightly (轻微地)”, “moderately (一般地)” or “highly”. Vibha Kurdikar is a doctor. She said teenagers are often not aware of their feelings. “Kids nowadays are under a lot of stress,” Kurdikar said. “But sometimes they don’t realize something is stressful until it’s too late.” Feel Now helps them notice how they are feeling. Aditi Jha, 14, has been using Feel Now for months. When she stops to examine her feelings, she sometimes notices a feeling she didn’t know about. She might realize that she’s worrying about a test. And then she can do something to make herself feel better. Feel Now could be more useful if it works with apps that record exercise or sleep. But Taara and Siena think that just recognizing(辨别出) and recording one’s feelings is valuable on its own. “The simpler it is, I think, the more people will use it,” Taara said. 36. CR450 can travel at 400 kilometers per hour on average, with a top speed hitting 453 km/h. Before this, the fastest high-speed train operating in a rail network in the world is China’s CR400, which runs at 350 km/h on average. Once put into use, for example, the CR450 will shorten the travel time from Beijing to Shanghai to just about two and a half hours, which takes at least four and a half hours at the moment. “The key is not to make the train run fast but to have it brake (刹车) accurately (精准地) and steadily (平稳地),” Zhao Hongwei of the China Academy of Railway Sciences told CCTV News. The standard is that the CR450 should have the same brake distance as the CR400, which is 6,500 meters, even though it travels a lot faster. It can also start braking more quickly, taking just 1.7 second s compared to the 2.3 seconds needed for the CR400. The engineers did lots of tests with the brakes to make the system better. In the tests, the brake disc (制动盘) got really hot, reaching temperatures of up to 700℃. Its color changed from black to red. The changes were then recorded. All the data were saved in a smart system to make a digital model of the brake system for calculations (计算). Apart from having a better braking system, the CR450 has the same noise level as the CR400. Moreover, it is 12 percent lighter and 20 percent less energy—consuming (耗能的), according to CCTV News. With all its advantages, people are getting excited about the train’s debut (首次亮相), which is planned to be within this year. 41. Compared to the CR400 the average speed of the CR450 increased by ________. A. 50km/h B. 100km/h C. 350km/h D. 450 km/h 42. According to Zhao Hongwei, what is “the key” to CR450? A. Increasing the train’s speed. B. Making it brake accurately and steadily. C. Having shorter braking distance. D. Starting to brake in a shorter time. 43. Compared to the CR400, the braking time of the CR450 ________. A. is 0.6 seconds faster B. is 0.6 seconds slower C. is the same D. is 1 second faster 44. What is Paragraph 5 mainly about? A. How engineers cooled down the brake disc in a test. B. What engineers did to improve the brake system. C. How a digital model was used for calculations. D. What differences the CR400 and CR450 have in their brake systems. 45. Which of the following is the structure of the passage? (①= paragraph1, ②= paragraph 2...) A. B. C. Now, the country is breaking its own speed record with CR450. 41. Compared to the CR400, the average speed of the CR450 increased by ________. A. 50km/h B. 100km/h C. B. C. D. 【答案】41. A 42. B 43. A 44.
