Watching the moon and eating mooncakes are some of the fun activities we do during the Mid-Autumn Festival. On the 15th day of the eighth lunar month every year, people celebrate this traditional festival. The full moon stands for being together with friends and family.
Also, many popular legends and poems are about the moon. They all show how Chinese people enjoy the moon.
The most famous legend is about a lady—Chang’e. Long ago, people said there were 10 suns in the sky. Her husband Hou Yi shot down nine of them. The goddess gave him a magic pill as a reward. This pill would make him live forever. However, Chang’e took the pill by accident. Then she flew to the moon and lived there forever.
Another legend tells the story of a woodcutter (伐木工) named Wu Gang. He had to cut down trees because he once made the Jade Emperor (玉皇大帝) angry. But the magic tree kept growing back. So he had to work endlessly.
The moon inspires (启发) people to write poems. For example, Su Shi of the Song Dynasty wrote the famous poem during the Mid-Autumn Festival: So let us wish that man will live long as he can! Though miles apart, we’ll share the beauty she displays.
63. What does the full moon stand for during the Mid-Autumn Festival?
A. Good luck and being rich.
B. The start of a new lunar year.
C. Being together with friends and family.
D. The end of summer and the beginning of autumn.

A. She shot down nine suns in the sky.
B. She gave the magic pill to Hou Yi as a reward.

We sometimes have the wrong ideas about the things around us. For example, some things about cats that people believe might not be true. These myths (荒诞的说法) can make cat owners confused (困惑的). Let’s learn the truth about them.
Some people think that cats need to drink milk. That is not true. If a cat eats well, it does not need to drink milk. Does your cat drink milk? Most cats like milk, but too much of it can make them sick. They can only have a little milk.
Some people put garlic (大蒜) in cat food. They believe it will keep worms (软虫) away from a cat’s body. Does it work? No, it does nothing to worms. It will give the cat bad breath! If your cat has worms in its body, take it to see a doctor. The doctor will give medicine to the cat.
Some people think that a cat’s whiskers (须) can help it keep balance (平衡). In fact, whiskers have nothing to do with balance at all. They help the cat know about things around.
Have you heard these myths about cats before? Don’t believe them. Cats need good owners to care for them. It’s a good idea to learn how to care for cats by reading books or talking to experts.
66. What does the passage say about putting garlic in cat food?

A. A guidebook. B. A science magazine. C. A health magazine. D. A storybook.

Wolves
For years people are afraid of wolves and don’t understand them. The wolves are the bad animals in many stories. How did these animals get such a bad reputation? It’s because people think they are sneaky and always hunting for food.
The wolf is not truly bad enough for such a reputation. It’s time to know the facts about wolves.
Life in a pack
Wolves do not like to live near humans. They prefer to live in the wild with other wolves. They live in groups called packs. A pack is made up of two parents and their newest babies, or young. Sometimes other wolves become part of a pack, too. Most packs have six to eight wolves. Some packs can have as many as 30 members.
Wolves often help each other. They live, hunt, and raise pups-baby wolves-together. In fact, members of a pack always work together to hunt animals.
Raising the pups
Pups are born in a well-hidden cave or a dirt hole. At first, the mother stays with the pups. She lets other members of the pack bring her food. After a few weeks, the mother goes off with the rest of the pack to hunt. Another wolf may “babysit” the pups. When the pack return, they feed small pieces of meat to the pups.
Young wolves learn how to hunt by playing. They also watch other pack members hunt.
70. Which of the following is NOT a reason why wolves prefer to live in packs?
A. They can help each other. B. They can hunt animals together.
C. They can hide better from humans. D. They can raise baby wolves together.
71. What does the mother wolf do after the pups are born?
A. She leaves the pups alone and goes hunting. B. She stays with the pups for a few weeks.
C. She teaches the pups how to hunt. D. She lets other wolves in the pack raise the pups.
72. What is the author’s main purpose in writing this passage?
A. To encourage us to stay away from wolves.
B. To explain how wolves hunt and raise their pups.
C. To tell us why wolves are considered dangerous.
D. To correct some common misunderstanding about wolves.

阅读下面短文,并用英语回答问题 (请注意每小题的词数要求)。
The loveliest house that I have ever lived in is Crosslands. I lived there with my grandparents when I was a child.
The house seemed so huge to me as a child. And it had a lovely living room with a piano in it. And there was a strange room. It was the drawing room. We only used it on Sundays, or when visitors came for tea. There was the best furniture (家具) in it but it was covered with sheet (布罩)—it was as if all the furniture wore clothes. We couldn’t enjoy this beautiful furniture.
I went back to the house a few weeks ago. It has changed a lot. My uncle has renovated (翻新) it, and taken away the lovely furniture. And he has pushed over (推倒) a wall so the drawing room and the living room have become one big room.
Although it becomes modern, its old style is the most beautiful in my heart. When I see the house, I know I can’t go back and have it again. But there’s still a beautiful memory.

My mom always listens to me and gives me good advice. My dad often teaches me new things and helps me with my schoolwork. I respect them and try to follow their rules. When we have fun together, I feel closer to them.
I think the key to a good parent-child relationship is communication and understanding. By listening to each other and showing love, we can have a happy and harmonious family.

I went to Yunnan with my parents by car when I was 10 years old. When we got to Yunnan, we fell in love with the beauty of nature. My father didn’t use to like taking photos. To our surprise, he stopped the car on the way to Gaoligong Mountain and asked my mother and me to take some photos. We stayed in Yunnan for three days. The weather was nice. Watching the moon and eating mooncakes are some of the fun activities we do during the Mid-Autumn Festival. On the 15th day of the eighth lunar month every year, people celebrate this traditional festival. The full moon stands for being together with friends and family.
