Quietly, I departed. Immediately, an absolute darkness ruled the woods. Desperate and helpless, Anne knelt down. Weak as she was, Jane struggled to her feet, continuing to seek help. Making the best of this encounter, I took some pictures of the bear. Falling in despair, Jane felt exhausted and overwhelmed. Bursting into tears, she threw herself into Tom's arms the moment she saw him. Thrilled yet relieved, we grabbed the rope and eventually landed on the helicopter safe and sound. To save the child, he laid down his life.(=In order to save the child, he laid down his life.) To get there on time, we hurriedly packed the car.(=In order to get there on time, we hurriedly packed the car.) 4.介词开头 句子开头可以使用表示地点、时间、原因等带有介词的短语,如as a result;just at that moment;on my way back等。 Without saying a word, the man picked Kim up off the scooter and calmly stepped away. To our great relief, Dad turned down the idea. To her surprise, she saw nothing but forest. In relief, they found their way out finally. In delight, they entered the room, singing and dancing. Out rushed the boys.(= The boys rushed out.) By the window sat a young man with a book in his hand.(=A young man sat by the window with a book in his hand.) Buried in the sands was a golden box.(=A golden box was buried in the sands.) Standing beside the table was his wife.(=His wife was standing beside the table.) Little did he know the importance of this appointment.(=He knew little about the importance of this appointment.) Only then did I realize how important he was to me.(=I didn't realize how important he was to me only then.) Not only did she speak English, but she also spoke French.(=She not only spoke English, but also French.) So cold was it that we had to stay at home.(=It was so cold that we had to stay at home.) Not until then did I realize what kind of trouble I was in.(=I didn't realize what kind of trouble I was in until then.) Exhausted as/though he was, he didn't give up.(=Although/Though he was exhausted, he didn't give up.) No sooner had she rushed out of house than tears of regret rolled down her cheeks.(=Hardly had she rushed out of house when tears of regret rolled down her cheeks.=As soon as she rushed out of the house, tears of regret rolled down her cheeks.) He doesn't enjoy being alone.Neither do I.(=He doesn't enjoy being alone.I didn't enjoy being alone, either.) Had you come earlier, you might have witnessed everything.(=If you had come earlier, you might have witnessed everything.) 1.Jim carefully stepped over all the broken glass. _________________________________________________ 2.Arthur skipped up the street joyfully. _______________________________________ 3.Tom was curious to know what was inside, so he tiptoed into the dark cave. ___________________________________________________________ Carefully, Jim stepped over all the broken glass. Suddenly, I saw a great structure standing beautifully in the moonlight. It was the TV tower, the highest building in the city. A MOTHER'S DAY SURPRISE The twins were filled with excitement as they thought of the surprise they were planning for Mother's Day.How pleased and proud Mother would be when they brought her breakfast in bed...(2021年新高考Ⅰ、Ⅱ卷:母亲节的惊喜早餐) 【参考范文】 The twins carried the breakfast upstairs and woke their mother up.“Happy Mother's Day!” shouted the twins. “And we have a surprise for you!” So sweet was the surprise that Mother excitedly shook Father, who was pretending to snore. Her face lit up with happiness.Mother hugged the twins and showed her thanks. She tasted a piece of French toast and said that it was the best breakfast she had ever had.Love filled the whole room. What a beautiful and sweet surprise! 所给短文的题目“A MOTHER'S DAY SURPRISE”点明了文章的主题,续写中数次提到surprise进行照应,且文末用“What a beautiful and sweet surprise!” 2.My dad, George, only had an eighth grade education.A quiet man, he didn't understand my world of school activities... I didn't really understand his world either... ...I decided it was not fair that I had to contribute my money.(2021年6月浙江卷:父亲要用“我”打暑期工的工钱补贴家用) 【参考范文】 I handed Dad my hard-earned cash.It only seemed fair...That summer, I did a lot of growing up and finally came to understand my dad's world. 3.It was summer, and my dad wanted to treat me to a vacation like never before. He decided to take me on a trip to the Wild West.(2018年6月浙江卷:荒野骑马迷路) 【参考范文】 Uncle Paul came riding with a group of people. He laughed with joy when he saw us safe. What a thrilling vacation like never before. 1.As I carried her up the blackberry-lined path toward my car where I kept a water bottle, she began to move.I stopped, and she soon took wing but did not immediately fly away.Hovering (悬停), she approached within six inches of my face. For a very long moment, this tiny creature looked into my eyes, turning her head from side to side. Then she flew quickly out of sight.(2023年1月浙江卷:挽救受困的蜂鸟) 【参考范文】 I was just about to leave when the hummingbird appeared. With a squeaking call, she dived towards me and hovered before my face, looking at me with her bright eyes. Then she stopped on my left shoulder.I patted her on the back which was covered by colorful feathers. And I took out my water bottle, trying to give her some water.Content and joyful, she flew about 2 meters above the ground, turning her head from side to side as if expressing her gratitude to me for saving her life again. 续写中使用原词hovered, looking at me with her bright eyes, turning her head from side to side回应了所给短文中的动作描写,情节设置合情合理。 2.I bit back my frustration (懊恼).I knew the coach meant well—he thought he was doing the right thing. After making sure that David could run if he wanted, I turned to find him coming towards me, his small body rocking from side to side as he swung his feet forward.(2022年新高考Ⅰ、Ⅱ卷:David的越野跑) 【参考范文1】 As the whistle blew, runners shot out like bullets, except David. His small body rocked from side to side as he swung his feet forward. 2】 The starter's gun sounded, and David rushed forward with the other children. But he had only gone a few meters before he tripped. 所给短文中描写了David跑向我的动作,由于脑疾,他跑起来左摇右摆(his small body rocking from side to side as he swung his feet forward),两篇范文都捕捉到了这一动作伏笔,对David比赛中跑起步来跟跟跑跑的姿势进行了刻画。 3.Taking pictures of polar bears is amazing but also dangerous.Polar bears—like all wild animals—should be photographed from a safe distance. When I'm face-to-face with a polar bear, I like it to be through a camera with a telephoto lens (远距离照相镜头).But sometimes, that is easier said than done. This was one of those times.(2020年7月浙江卷:给北极熊拍照片) 【参考范文】 The wild animal ran away with heavy steps.Even though my heart was still pounding wildly inside my chest, I snatched my camera and took one last shot of the bear, a photo that I had always longed to capture.Though risking my life, I've got the best picture ever and it's all worth it. So, why did he suddenly force me to do something at which I was sure to fail? His reply: “Because I love your stories. If you're willing to apply yourself, I think you have a good shot at this.” Encouraged by his words, I agreed to give it a try.(2023年新课标Ⅰ、Ⅱ卷:在老师的鼓励下参加写作比赛) 【参考范文】 I went to my teacher's office after the award presentation.Knocking on the door, I entered to find him amidst a sea of papers a smile lighting up his face as he saw me.“Congratulations!” he exclaimed warmly, rising from his chair, “You did it! I told you if you applied yourself you would succeed.” 1.David had a brain disease which prevented him from walking or running like other children, but at school his classmates thought of him as a regular kid.He always participated to the best of his ability in whatever they were doing. That was why none of the children thought it unusual that David had decided to join the cross-country team.It just took him longer—that's all.David had not missed a single practice, and although he always finished his run long after the other children, he did always finish. As a special education teacher at the school, I was familiar with the challenges David faced and was proud of his strong determination.(2022年新高考Ⅰ、Ⅱ卷:David的越野跑) 【参考范文】 Determined to finish the race, David seemed to run with all his strength.Upon his crossing the finishing line, the audience burst into thunderous cheers and applause. 2.I had an interesting childhood. It was filled with surprise and amusements, all because of my mother—loving, sweet, and yet absent-minded and forgetful. One strange family trip we took when I was eleven tells a lot about her.My two sets of grandparents lived in Colorado and North Dakota, and my parents decided to spend a few weeks driving to those states and seeing all the sights along the way.(2017年11月浙江卷:与健忘的妈妈一起旅行) 【参考范文】 Upon approaching grandparents' house, my mother exclaimed, “Absent-minded Oops! Where are the gifts for grandparents?” A MOTHER'S DAY SURPRISE The twins were filled with excitement as they thought of the surprise they were planning for Mother's Day.How pleased and proud Mother would be when they brought her breakfast in bed.(2021年新高考Ⅰ、Ⅱ卷:母亲节的惊喜早餐) 【参考范文】 When she saw the breakfast, her eyes widened and twinkled with excitement.Mother bit into the toast and exclaimed it was the best toast she had ever tasted. 所给短文中“How pleased and proud Mother would be when they brought her breakfast in bed.” 1.The other children also jumped up all attention. When John had an idea, it was sure to be a good one.“I tell you what we can do,” said John.“You know that big box of corn Uncle John sent us? Well, we can make popcorn (爆米花) and put it into paper bags, and Bernard can take it around to the houses and sell it.”(2020年新高考Ⅰ、Ⅱ卷:Meredith一家帮助贫苦男孩Bernard 赚钱补贴家用) 【参考范文】 When Mrs.Meredith heard of John's idea, she thought it was a good one too.So she praised John for his proposal and offered him some advice.Very soon the children were busy popping the corn, while their mother went out to buy the paper bags. When she came back, she brought Bernard with her.All the children came surrounding Bernard and they gave a basket to Bernard. The basket was full of paper bags which were filled with popcorn. 2.As she picked her way carefully along the stream, Jane heard a helicopter. Is that for me?Unfortunately, the trees made it impossible for people to see her from above.A few minutes later, another helicopter flew overhead.Jane took off her yellow blouse, thinking that she should go to an open area and flag them if they came back again.(2016年10月浙江卷:Jane与丈夫露营吵架,出走后迷路) 【参考范文】 It was daybreak when Jane woke up.To her great joy, she heard a helicopter again! She rushed to an open area, waving her yellow blouse frantically.Fortunately, the helicopter seemed to notice her existence and flew downwards. After a while Uncle Paul and his farm house were out of sight. It was so peaceful and quiet and the colors of the brown rocks, the deep green pine trees, and the late afternoon sun mixed to create a magic scene. It looked like a beautiful woven (编织的) blanket spread out upon the ground just for us.(2018年6月浙江卷:荒野骑马迷路) 【参考范文】 We had no idea where we were and it got dark.It was completely dark except for the faint light given off by a few stars.Under the shimmering starlight, the shadows of the rocks and pine trees took on the appearance of dancing monsters, making me shiver with fear. It took place in a teacher's family. One day, Ben was playing basketball in the living room after school, when he accidentally threw the ball at a vase sitting on the shelf. The vase dropped to the floor and a large piece broke off. What made Ben more upset was that the vase was not a common decoration but an antique, which was handed down through generations from the 18th century. It was also his mother's favorite possession. To cover his terrible action, the terrified boy glued the pieces together hastily and put the vase back to its place. As the mother herself dusted the vase every day, she naturally noticed the cracks (裂纹) that evening. To her surprise, the repair work was actually very good.At dinner time, she asked her boy if he broke the vase.Fearing punishment, the suddenly inspired boy said that a neighbor's cat jumped in from the window and he couldn't drive it away no matter how hard he tried. It raced around the living room and finally knocked the vase off its shelf. His mother was quite clear that her son was lying, for all the windows were closed before she left for work each morning and opened after she returned. However, in the face of her son's nervous eyes and the suspicious looks of the other family members.Ben's mother remained calm. She realized she shouldn't just simply blame and punish her son for lying. She came up with another idea. Before going to bed, the boy found a note from his mother in his room, asking him to go to the study at once. The boy thought he would now be punished but, as he had already lied, he was determined to deny everything to the end, no matter how angry his mom became. In the study, calmly bathed in the light, his mother's face showed no sign of anger. On seeing her son push open the door and cautiously enter, she took a chocolate box out of a drawer and gave him one. (Para.1)The mother said, “This chocolate is a reward for your imagination: a window-opening cat!”_______________________________ _______________________________________________________________ (Para.2)Now with some chocolates in his hand, the boy's bad attitude disappeared.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 该文本是一个亲子教育类故事,讲述了小男孩Ben不小心打破花瓶,修补后谎称是猫咪的错。 The mother said, “This chocolate is a reward for your imagination: a window-opening cat!” Astonished as he was at her reward instead of harsh scold, Ben reluctantly received it, not daring to fix his eyes on his mother's.Then, the mother squeezed another chocolate in his hands and said, “This chocolate is a reward for you ability to repair the vase.A good effort.” She added that although he repaired it only with glue, the cracks were almost invisible. Then the mother picked out a third chocolate and continued softly, “The last one, my boy.I am sorry for not putting the vase in a more proper place.” Now with some chocolates in his hand, the boy's bad attitude disappeared. He tried to say something but his mother silenced him.She gave a soft kiss on his forehead and walked out of the study. After the incident, life at home was the same as before. The only change was that the boy never lied again. The three chocolates served as a reminder: To be an honest boy._________________________________________________________________________________________ Sometimes, no blaming or punishment could also make a big difference to a child's growth. (She realized she shouldn't just simply blame and punish her son for lying. She came up with another idea.), (The mother said, “This chocolate is a reward for your imagination:a window-opening cat!”),而该篇续写顺着开头提示,妈妈用3颗巧克力作为奖赏代替简单粗暴的责骂,慢慢融化了儿子内心的抗拒。 The mother said, “This chocolate is a reward for your imagination: a window-opening cat!” The boy was surprised and puzzled. As he couldn't figure out his mother's intention, he accepted the chocolate first but still showed no sense of giving in.Seeing her son accepted the chocolate, the mother then held out another one, “This is a reward for your awareness and effort to keep our home safe.” The boy recalled he told his mom he tried to drive the cat away, and hence he took it, but still kept silence. To his surprise, his mother handed him a third one with the words “This is for your nice repair work.” Now with some chocolates in his hand, the boy's bad attitude disappeared. So ashamed was he that he felt his blood rush to his face. His mother looked straight into his eyes with a gentle smile, waiting for his words. The boy finally plucked up his courage to tell his mother the whole incident and apologized to her for telling a lie, his head drooping. On hearing this, a brighter smile split on the mother's face and she presented the last chocolate, “This one is for your honesty, my boy.” Giving her son a bear hug, the mother stepped out._____________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ The tender light in the study showered warmly and laid on the boy, kissing each inch of his skin. The mother said, “This chocolate is a reward for your imagination: a window-opening cat!” Overwhelmed with horror, the boy shot his mom a confused look and shook his head, “I don't understand your words, Mom.” The mother smiled, saying nothing and put another chocolate into his sweaty hands, “This one is for your repair work.Beautifully done.” Again, he denied, although his trembling little figure had totally betrayed him._______________________ _____________________________________________________________ The mother continued to put a third one in his palm and grinned, “And it's great not to give in easily.” Now with some chocolates in his hand, the boy's bad attitude disappeared.Instead of dashing back to his bed, he stepped forward and lowered his head, “I am terribly sorry for accidentally breaking your favorite vase,” he admitted, “and for lying.”At that moment, he could only hear his heart beating violently. The mom embraced the little boy, her voice sounding like the gentle breeze in spring, “What matters is your honesty and those are the reward for that.” _______________________________________________ ____________________________________________ Having a handful chocolates in his hand, the boy breathed a sigh of relief, “Thank you, Mom!” The mother said, “This chocolate is a reward for your imagination: a window-opening cat!” Scratching his head in confusion, the boy reached his hand for the chocolate reluctantly, without saying a word. Then the mother put another chocolate in his hands, “This is for your effort to repair the vase.Without controversy it is amazingly done.” The boy still kept silence, but a sense of embarrassment bubbled up inside him, his face burning.Noticing the subtle changes, the mother continued to hand out a third chocolate, saying gently with a wide smile on her face, “And this is for your determination not to give in.” Now with some chocolates in his hand, the boy's bad attitude disappeared. He could easily feel his heart beat wildly and his guilty forced him to make the right decision—tell Mom the truth.“Mom, actually, it was me who broke the vase accidentally...” He murmured the truth, feeling relieved of a heavy burden and tears finally rolling down his cheeks.___________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The mother held her boy into her chest affectionately and said honesty outweighed anything else and he would always be the apple of her eyes. It all began when my younger brother, Chris, and I went over to Uncle Howard's for Thanksgiving. When we finally got to my uncle's, Chris and I went outside to see if Uncle Howard needed help with anything.Since Chris was only nine, he got the easier job of cleaning up the watering cans.I was twelve, old enough to help load the wheelbarrow (手推车).But we still found time to ask Uncle Howard a lot of questions about turkeys. He must have been impressed, because when we were finished, he winked at my dad and handed me one turkey egg. “You kids put this under a hatching hen,” he said, “and in twenty-five days, you'll have a fine turkey!” Chris was so excited that he nearly dropped the egg on the way home.Dad put the egg under an old hen, and every day Chris and I would check to see if it had hatched yet.Twenty-five days seemed like forever. Finally, on the twenty-sixth day, Chris and I walked into the coop (禽舍) after school to find the old hen scratching on the floor.Behind her was one ball of fluff (绒毛), falling over its feet and looking sort of confusion. When it got older, we could tell that it was atom.We named it Timothy. Timothy grew and grew, dashing towards the feed we threw out.He liked to wander in the woods and find tasty berries and weed seeds.Mom kept telling us not to get too attached to Timothy, because we were going to have him for Thanksgiving. But we never paid too much attention to what that really meant. Then, one day toward the end of October, Dad gave Chris and me instructions.“I want you to start giving him corn along with his regular feed,” he said.“We want a nice, thick-fleshed bird for Thanksgiving.” After Dad turned and walked away, Chris's face began to wrinkle, just as it does before he starts to cry. I comforted Chris, saying we could hide Timothy where people couldn't find him.Chris wiped his tears and quieted his sobs, a wide smile appearing on his face, still with tears in the eyes. But I didn't really know where and how I could manage to do it.As we all knew, if we didn't take immediate action, Timothy would be served as a dish on Thanksgiving. After thinking twice, we built him a nest in the woods and left with him enough food and water.Chris burst into laughter with his eyes brimmed with joy.And we lied to our parents that Timothy was missing. With Timothy gone, Uncle Howard provided the turkey on Thanksgiving. We had an unforgettable and enjoyable Thanksgiving. But a sense of guilty bubbled up inside us and took control of us, and hence we planned to tell our parents the truth. We told them that we liked Timothy so much that we hid it with our heads lowering in shame.Mom and Dad seemed to understand the friendship between two lads and a feathery bird and they decided to let it go. _________________________ 1.用说理升华的方法续写结尾: __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2.用自然结尾的方法续写结尾: ___________________________________________________________ 3.用以景结尾的方法续写结尾: __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Only at that time did we realize that things would turn out fine if we faced it with sincerity, honesty as well as responsibility. We were wild with joy and promised to take good care of Timothy later. Watching Timothy pacing in the yard and pecking at its food leisurely, we felt the bitter winter wind became warmer than ever before. With Timothy gone, Uncle Howard provided the turkey on Thanksgiving. We had an unforgettable and enjoyable Thanksgiving. But a sense of guilty bubbled up inside us and took control of us, and hence we planned to tell our parents the truth. With courage we went to our parents and said, “Sorry, Mom and Dad, for we have hidden Timothy and lied to you it's gone.”_______ ___________________________ 4.用对话结尾的方法续写结尾: _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Mom and Dad seemed to understand the friendship between two kids and a feathery bird, saying, “It's OK. And you have to promise to take good care of it from now on.” 1.I was happy to help because I knew it would help us achieve our dream of making black and white people equal. 2.Anyhow, my goal is to provide humans with a life of high quality.I am now truly filled with happiness that I am a devoted friend and helper of the human race! 3.Festivals let us enjoy life, be proud of our customs and forget our work for a little while. 4.The precious tricycle not only helped me through that tough period, but also carried Father's love forward into the far, far future. 1.At present, English is playing a more and more important part in our life. However, many problems will come up in learning English. So we should make full use of every opportunity to practise English.Only in this way can we eventually have a good command of English. As is known to us all, learning English should be based on hard work. You shouldn't lose heart when you come across difficulties. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Mastering English requires continuous practice, a positive approach towards difficulties, and an unwavering belief in persistent hard work. 2.My friend John was always upset about some small things and couldn't keep calm. When he was asked about the reason, he often became annoyed. As a result, his classmates were tired of him.But his teachers were concerned about him and often talked with him face to face. However, all the efforts were in vain. One day, he had a bad cold. The teachers and students sent him to hospital without delay and attended him carefully. After he recovered, he was grateful to his teachers and classmates. From then on, he began getting along well with his classmates. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Actually, love and care from the teachers and his classmates has changed him entirely. /In my opinion, it's love and care from the teachers and his classmates that has changed him entirely. Thank you for watching $$
