French designer Mathieu Lehanneur created the torch, which is 70 centimeters long and made of lightweight steel.Lehanneur said its shape is inspired by the famous Seine River, which flows through Paris. He said the torch is equal from top to bottom and all around the middle, which stands for equality between athletes. The twisting shape of the torch represents peace.

(2024·郑州高二检测)I have grown up in a footballloving family. My dad played until 1 injury forced him out.My elder sister Stevie 2 with Crewe Alexandra Girls for a year or two as a left back(后卫),just like our hero Jamie Carragher.
I remember the exact moment when I told my dad I was 3 in doing what my big sister did.I was watching the game with him in the living room and it just came out:“It makes me 4 that I can't be a footballer.”He asked why not,and I answered,“Because I'm not a boy.”
He 5 responded by telling me that women's football was “great” and that I could play if I wanted to.“Yeah,I suppose so,” I responded,“but no one 6 women's football.” Looking back,I can see exactly why I felt like that.
At school, there was an 7 rule that sports like rugby and football were for the boys.I'd never seen a women's football match on TV and the only 8 athletes I'd heard of were in the Olympics.
Today, the England Lionesses(母狮队) will 9 Scotland in the World Cup,and people across the world will watch it. 10 women's football has turned out to be one of FIFA's investments, the majority of female players in top tiers are earning under what anyone would consider a fair 11 ,and only £24 million prize money was awarded to the women's World Cup victors in 12 with £315 million to the men's.That's a 13 difference.
Maybe, the truth is:Investment is needed for female football to become more visible and become a(n) 14 respected game. It'll mean talented, skillful female footballers being 15 by millions of homes and maybe, just maybe,a little girl believing that she can also be a Lioness one day.

1.D [解析]根据空后的forced him out可知,父亲受伤严重所以被迫退出。故选D。
2.B [解析]根据第一段段首“I have grown up in a footballloving family.(我生长在一个热爱足球的家庭。)”
4.A [解析]由上文可知,作者告诉父亲自己对足球感兴趣,结合空后“Because I'm not a boy.”可知,作者认为自己不是男孩,因此不能成为足球运动员,所以很“难过,遗憾”。故选A。
5.C [解析]apparently明显地;completely完全地;immediately立即;temporarily暂时地。在听完作者的诉说之后,父亲“立刻”回应如果想的话就去参加。故选C。
6.D [解析]根据下文I'd never seen a women's football match on TV可知,作者认为没人“看”女足比赛。故选D。
