Unit 3 Getting along with others (译林版2020必修第一册) 单元话题阅读镜练(阅读理解15篇+七选五5篇) Ⅰ阅读理解 Passage 1 (2023-2024学年高一下·黑龙江大庆·期末)I live abroad, so social media is key in my communication with friends; yet many didn't realise I was sick for months. I was struggling to connect and communicate with anyone on any level. As I searched on the Internet trying to understand what was happening to me, websites gave me the answer—depression. I researched topics about treatment and read others' articles about their experiences. I began to feel understood, less alone and more informed. I set up a social media account choosing the name itreallyisok; I wanted to build on the sentence I had seen over and over again online, which had brought me so much comfort. It's OK to not be OK. It took me a long time to accept this but doing so really helped with my recovery. Writing and sharing really helped me process what I was going through; and receiving other people's support was hugely beneficial to me as well. The highlight of my social media experience, however, was coming into contact with someone on the other side of the world who supported me through a three-week crisis. During a particularly difficult stage of my recovery, my doctor suddenly went off sick. I was struggling to talk to anyone close to me at the time. Hesitantly, I got in touch with a psychologist who had regularly shared posts that I'd connected with. This stranger helped me so much and her response, when I asked her why, blew me away. Through her I learnt that we might not be able to change the world at one blow but we can change the world of one person at a time. As you can see, the Internet and social media have been hugely beneficial in helping me get through a difficult journey. Despite many of the warnings, I can highly recommend it as a way to keep in touch with those you can relate to. As with anything though, connect with care. 1. What was wrong with the author? A. She felt lonely living abroad. B. She suffered from depression. C. She had trouble making friends. D. She was addicted to social media. 2. Why did the author choose the name itreallyisok for her social media account? A. To be different from other users. B. To tell the world she was OK. C. To get comfort from others online. D. To encourage herself to accept illness. 3. What did the author do when her doctor fell ill? A. She reached out to an expert online for help. B. She tried hard to connect with her friends C. She travelled to the other side of the world to relax. D. She shared posts regularly online to feel less lonely. 4. What did the author learn from the stranger? A. Despite the forecast, live like it's spring. B. Talking to your friends is sometimes all you need. C. One can change the world by starting with one person. D. Each person must live their life as a model for others. Passage 2 (2023-2024学年高一下·四川达州·期末)Research has shown that human beings are dependent in nature. We therefore depend on each other to survive in life. The interdependence of people therefore leads to development of interpersonal relationships that are built with the aim of making life better and building frameworks for success. Relationships area common phenomena in the society and they are found everywhere in families, schools, workplaces, professional teams, etc. Each kind of relationship has its own requirements and unofficial rules and each individual relates with a second individual in a unique way depending on the characters of the two individuals. Since there is no perfect society, relationships are built under very strong foundations of mistakes and compromises. Other people may conduct research on how they are supposed to relate to people but this has seldom worked for people. Therefore, the strongest relationships are built through people relating with each other and knowing each other with time. Since the society is made up of people, they are the key determinants of how their society will be. Thus, for a society to be a good one, the people living in it should relate well and solve differences properly. The achievement of this goal may prove not to be given direct answers but with persistence and goodwill, a good society is achievable. The people living in the society just have to wish each other well and be willing to help each other as humanly as possible. The development of a good relationship among human beings living together is of great importance to both the people and the community. It is common knowledge that when individuals in a given community or organization fallout in public, it is the organization that suffers more than the people involved. With this kind of statement, one may even wonder why people have to disagree their society causing losses that may be financial or otherwise. Building a relationship acts as an investment (投资) or even insurance against bad lucks. As a matter of fact, keeping good relationships between and among people costs a lot of offerings. This is because nobody is perfect and thus to own a good relationship with other people, there has to be compromises. 5. Which word can be used to describe people’s survival in the society? A. Dependent B. Independent C. Indifferent D. Aggressive 6. What does the underlined word “compromises” mean in the passage? A. Sideways B. Opportunities C. Middle ways D. Branches 7. What is the key of the best relationship according to the passage? A. Having the same age B. Enjoying the same hobby C. Living in the same community D. Building a steady relationship over a long time 8. What is the main idea of the passage? A. Requirements of each relationship B. Development of a good relationship C. Ineffective research about relationship D. Reasons of building a harmonious relationship Passage 3 (2023-2024学年高一下·湖南益阳期末)For more than 75 years, mathematicians have been confused about how to divide resources to make everyone satisfied. For example, how can you cut a cake to make sure everyone at the party is happy with what they get. The “I cut, you choose” method works for two people. What about sharing among three or more? Hugo Steinhaus was a pioneer devoted to this complexity(复杂性). He came up with an improved I-cut-you-choose way for three players, the lone-divider method. Here, someone cuts the cake. Let’s call her Alice. She cuts the cake into three pieces that she values equally. Then a second person, Bob, says which of the pieces he would accept. If he agrees on at least two pieces, then the third person, Carla, can take any piece she wants. At least one of the remaining pieces is acceptable to Bob, so he picks next. Alice gets what’s left. If Bob and Carla both reject the same piece, that piece goes to Alice. The remaining two pieces are recombined and shared between Bob and Carla using I-cut-you-choose. Steinhaus also discussed the “last-cutter” method for any number of cake eaters. But in both the lone-divider and last-cutter approaches, a person who gets an early piece may see a later one they wish they had instead-even though they had at first thought their piece was fair. “Cake works as a stand-in for anything that can be divided,” says Steven Brams, a political scientist at New York University. “Though cake-cutting ideas have some disadvantages, they have real-world uses. How can food be divided up between communities? How should roommates share work? How can communities draw boundaries (边界线)?” 9. What did Hugo Steinhaus use the cake-cutting way to study? A. Fairness. B. Kindness. C. Happiness. D. Generosity. 10. What does the underlined word “reject” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Consume. B. Appreciate. C. Refer to. D. Turn down. 11. What makes the cake-cutting methods imperfect according to paragraph 4? A. The irregular cake. B. The human nature. C. The uncertain process. D. The large number of eaters. 12. What does the last paragraph mainly focus on? A. The standard of the cake- cutting methods. B. The weakness of the cake-cutting methods. C. The practical application of the cake-cutting methods. D. The doubts raised about the cake-cutting methods. Passage 4 (2023-2024学年高一上·江苏扬州·阶段练习)When Senait Lara, a 28-year-old video producer, was questioned by her friends about her lack of communication in their group chat, the blames were as follows: she only caught up every few days; when she did, it was hardly an interaction — Lara spent time “liking” messages instead of responding with words; and sometimes she would never respond at all. Lara didn’t deny it. She knew she sometimes preferred to completely avoid her phone rather than deal with a large number of requests. Actually, in person, Lara felt comfortable talking with people, but when communication came down to a text message or an email, she wanted to tap out. While social media and messaging apps keep us more connected to each other, many younger users are finding themselves tired out from receiving constant notices and carrying on conversations that can last all day. The after-effect? Delayed responses, forgetting to get back to someone entirely, and a need for frequent phone breaks. In fact, a 2023 study exploring the effects of information overload and online conversation dynamics (动态) found that “over-exposure to information can suppress the possibility of response by overloading users.” Smartphones have quickly changed into handheld storage units for our conversations, thoughts, music and everything else. That shift to feeling constantly attached to our phone s as if they were a limb relates to the bumout, says psychologist Emily Balcetis. As the pressure to be online and always available continues to grow in our society. in-person interactions provide far more real communication than digital ones. From body language to eye contact and all the other social clues that exist in real life that aren’t available in a text message, it’s far easier to be present when you’re face-to-face. As Balcetis notes: “At the end of the day, I think what we’re looking for is not more ways to stay connected, but higher quality ways to be connected.” 13. What dissatisfied Senait Lara’s friends? A. Lara denying her problems. B. Lara avoiding using her phone. C. Lara’s preference for digital communication. D. Lara’s communication style in the group chat. 14. What does paragraph 2 tell us about many young people? A. They are starting to have memory problems. B. They refuse to put down their smartphones. C. They are tired of frequent digital contact. D. They feel more connected to each other. 15. Which of the following best explains “suppress” underlined in paragraph 3? A. Indicate. B. Limit. C. Measure. D. Decide. 16. What does the last paragraph mainly stress? A. The need to take a break from digital devices. B. The pressure of always being available online. C. The importance of face-to-face communication. D. The ability to understand clues behind text messages. Passage 5 (2023-2024学年高一下·浙江湖州·期末)Smartphone ownership among younger children is increasing rapidly. Parents of younger children may occasionally look at their child’s phone to check whether it’s being used responsibly and safely. But as children mature into teens, parental inspections will likely feel like an invasion(侵犯) of privacy. So, what do parents need to consider when making the “phone rules” for their children as they get older? Parents get their younger children phones for many reasons. Some feel it’ll help keep kids safe when, for example, travelling on their own to and from school. Others have bought one after intense pressure from their child or worry their child will be left out socially if all their friends have a phone. Some also tell me they are reluctant to let their child use the parents’phone for fear of risking important work files or information stored on the phone. Parents understandably want their children to be safe. Monitoring may be part of this, but it’s not the whole story. Education and open dialogue about phone safety should begin the day the child gets their phone and continue as they grow. This may include controls, restrictions and monitoring, but does not necessarily need to include phone checking. Establishing the rules on safety and well-being for using the phone is the key. This means talking to the children about how and when they use their phone, why they shouldn’t answer unknown texts and calls, beware of giving out personal information online, and about being kind online. Let the children know they can always talk to their parents if they have a weird or bad experience online. As children mature, parental guidance also needs to change. After about 12 months of the child’s phone ownership, checking phone s needs to fade, and ongoing open communication needs to become the mainstay. Parents may also try new ways of using the phone or certain apps together with their child. For example, they can use the screentime feature to discuss, and be aware of their developing phone habits. 17. Which of the following is the reason for parents’ buying their children smartphones? A. Knowing children’s school life. B. Following others’ steps. C. Taking online courses. D. Sharing their life at work. 18. What’s likely to threaten children’s safety? A. Keeping secret of their personal information. B. Answering unknown texts and calls. C. Setting up rules on safety of using the phone. D. Chatting with their parents about their phone use. 19. What does the underlined word “weird” in paragraph 3 probably mean? A. Strange. B. Pleasant. C. Precious. D. Ordinary. 20. What can we learn from the last paragraph? A. Checking phones is the best way to ensure children’s online safety. B. Open dialogues between parents and children improve their relationship. C. Using screentime feature is helpful to prevent giving out personal information. D. Parental guidance should be based on solving problems together and respectfully. Passage 6 (2023-2024学年高一下·江西上饶·期末)Under a nearly full moon in the darkness of the night sky over Kansas, a group of student star watchers sat in a circle taking turns on the telescope. They seem very happy, very cheerful, and excited to experience new things. It was a bonding experience that was out of this world, especially considering that only a day before they were as foreign to each other as the moon landscape itself. This past summer more than 300 high school graduates signed up for the unique student exchange program. Unlike the well-known foreign exchange model that affords students a chance to study abroad, this program gives students the opportunity to soak in a brand-new culture without ever leaving the country. It’s called the American Exchange Project, or AEP for short, co-founded by 29-year-old Franely McCullough, grandson of the late Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David McCullough. “We fund kids to spend a week in the summer after senior year in an American town that is socio-economically and culturally different from the one that they’re growing up in.” McCullough said. For the past three years McCullough’s been giving high school graduates that same experience, and so far at least, it’s having the impact he hoped it would. A week may not seem like a lot of time, but at the end of those seven days, you can see the kids have been bonded so much. One girl from South Dakota said, “I’ve never been a part of a community where I’m not the minority. So, this is very much an experience that I really appreciate so much.” McCullough hopes to offer the program to a million students by decade’s end, and all free of charge, thanks to big name donors, including the likes of Steven Spielberg. “I think this all ought to be as typical to the American high school experience as the graduating party,” McCullough said. “I think every kid in every town should have an experience like this.” 21. What do the words “out of this world” mean in paragraph 2? A. Wonderful. B. Confusing. C. Challenging. D. Meaningless. 22. What can we learn about the AEP project? A. It’s a summer camp for senior students. B. It’s a free week-long trip in a new town. C. It’s in honour of a late famous historian. D. It’s a foreign exchange program in America. 23. Why does the author mention South Dakota in paragraph 5? A. To show the impact of the project. B. To explain the origin of the project. C. To predict the future of the project. D. The big names donating fund to the students’ growth D. Students building bridges across the American divide Passage 7 (2023-2024学年高一上·山东济南·期末)More than 4.85 billion people have access to the Internet. Online, they can find all the information available to humankind and form their own opinion about anything. This has completely changed society. But what disturbs most is the new technological ability of the large number of people to express themselves. It is not free access to information but access to self-expression that changes the world. We are living through an unexpected explosion of authorship. Thе book Human as Media gives us a vivid picture of this explosion of authorship. Humankind had 300 million authors in 5,000 years of written civilization and, all of a sudden, this number has risen to 4.85 billion in the space of 40 years. Such authorship has given us opportunities to express ourselves freely, but it has also led to thoughtless self - expression.   Social media such as Facebook and Twitter are commonly blamed for creating cultural mess. People can express this or that opinion as they like. But what really matters is that social media provide chances for billions who can reach out to others beyond their physical and social limits. This itself has become an important factor to shape society, regardless of the content. In reality, social media are specifically taking advantage of our desire to “struggle for recognition”. We humans need to feel a sense of being together. So is our thirst for response. Social media provide, or at least offer, responses to even the smallest activities of a user such as likes, posts, and comments. I click, therefore I am.   But with this great service comes great risks. Those self-expressions are exposed to some extent unseen before. Unprepared and unhesitating judgments regarding someone’s personal matters or public affairs increase incredibly. Personal becomes public and public becomes personal. 25. Why does the author mention the book Human as Media in Paragraph 2? A. To explain a rule. B. To provide a proof. C. To clarify a concept. D. To make a prediction. 26. Technologies promote network development Passage 8 (2023-2024学年高一下·陕西渭南·期中)Social media allows teenagers to create online identities, communicate with others and build social networks. These networks can provide teenagers with valuable support. Teenagers also use social media for entertainment and self-expression. And the platforms can expose teenagers to current events, allow them to communicate across geographic barriers and touch them about different kinds of subjects. However, social media use can also, negatively affect teenagers, distracting them, influencing their sleep, and exposing them to bullying (恐吓), rumour (谣言) spreading, untrue views of other people’s lives and peer pressure. There are steps you can take to encourage responsible use of social media and limit some of its negative effects. Set reasonable limits. Talk to your teenager about how to avoid letting social media affect his or her activities, sleep, meals or homework. Encourage a bedtime routine that avoids electronic media use, and keep cellphones and iPads out of teenagers’ bedrooms. Set an example by following these rules yourself. Monitor your teenager’s accounts. Let your teenager know that you’ll be regularly checking his or her social media accounts. You might aim to do so once a week or more. And make sure you follow through. Explain what’s not OK. Discourage your teenager from gossiping, spreading rumour, bullying or damaging someone’s reputation — online or otherwise. Talk to your teenager about what is appropriate and safe to share on social media. Encourage face-to-face contact with friends. This is particularly significant for teenagers who are easily hurt by social anxiety disorder. Talk about social media. Talk about your own social media habits. Ask your teenager how he or she is using social media and how it makes him or her feel. Remind your teenager that social media is full of unrealistic images. In the open air, the noises all demanded your attention: the lifeguard’s whistle, the slapping of feet across the ground, the voices asking for different things. It reminded me of the school cafeteria, packed with kids: too loud to read a book in. But beneath the surface, things were quiet. The sounds that used to annoy me lost all their power. Instead, they mixed with the splashing of the water and the gentle blub-blub of air bubbles escaping my nose. All the noises worked together to create a symphony. Harmony. Perhaps the best thing about the bottom of a swimming pool, though, was that at the bottom of a swimming pool, I was alone. I didn’t have to worry about anyone splashing or kicking or making fun of me. They were all far, far away up on the surface. It was only me. Just me. I used to wish I could live underwater. Mermaids(美人鱼) didn’t have to go to school. Mermaids didn’t call other mermaids nerds(怪胎). But once, when I came up for air, I spotted a girl my age at the other side of the pool. We locked eyes before I went back under, just for a second. I didn’t think anything of it — girls like her usually didn’t want to be seen around me — until I felt a soft tug on my ankle, and I spied her next to me. She actually wanted to talk to me. She wanted to be friends. So we talked. And I found out that she liked Pokémon and Warrior Cats just like I did. And we competed to see who could make the biggest splash, and when it got dark and the lights came on, we explored the depths of the pool together. I didn’t spend so much time at the bottom of a swimming pool after that. How could I when there was so much waiting for me on the surface? 37. What does the author think of the school cafeteria? A. Chuck McCarthy originally considered becoming a dog walker to earn some extra cash, but soon realized that the job required more than walking dogs on a leash(皮带). “I didn’t want to pick up dog poop(粪便), and that’s kind of what you are really being paid for, for dog walking,” he said. But people don’t usually poop when they take a walk, so Chuck realized there was money to be made walking people around Los Angeles instead. It might sound like a joke, but the People Walker, as he calls himself, is very serious about his new job. For $7 per mile, he offers to walk with customers around L.A., listening to their problems or simply making conversation and offering them a sense of safety. His services are aimed at people who need motivational help to go walking, those who don’t feel safe walking alone in some areas, and those who are afraid that people might see them walking by themselves and think that they have no friends. “I wear my The People Walker shirt upon request and on the first walk with a new customer, so they can be 100% sure it’s me,” McCarthy says. However, he admits that some people don’t agree to this policy, as they don’t necessarily want everyone to know that they are being walked. Believe it or not, McCarthy’s business has been very successful. He already has another five people walkers employed, covering various areas, like downtown L.A. , Hollywood, Eagle Rock, Las Feliz or Fairefax. Once he posted signs around the city, his phone started ringing and customers began rolling in. And with all the free publicity he has been getting in the press lately, he has been overwhelmed (不堪重负的) with requests. 41. Why does Chuck McCarthy need a second job? A. To kill his spare time. B. The fourth paragraph mainly talks about Chuck McCarthy’s ______. A. lifestyle B. hobbies C. service targets D. service areas 44. It can be known from that passage that ______. A. most people in Los Angeles live a lonely life B. the People Walker is quite popular with some people C. people living in Los Angeles lack a sense of security D. McCarthy’s business has almost spread to the whole country Passage 12 (2023-2024学年高一下·广东茂名·期中)When we’re in trouble, we always turn to our parents for help. But would you like them to hear the conversations you have with your friends on the school playground or lunch queue? Social networking sites have become extensions(延伸) of the school hallways, so would you add your parents as “friends” and allow them to view your online activities and conversations with friends? In the past the generation gap included a technology gap, where children were up to date with the latest technology and parents were left behind, content to continue their day-to-day lives as they always had because they had no need to know more about technology. However, more and more parents are beginning to realize just how important social networks are in their lives. This realization has given many parents the motivation(动机) to educate themselves about social networking sites. These days many people are attracted to social networking sites because they can choose who they have around them, there’s also a certain amount of control over privacy(隐私) that we don’t get in real life. Sometimes we feel that privacy is violated(违背) when we must accept a “friend” request from a parent or family member. It’s a difficult choice whether or not to allow a parent to become a part of our online lives. On the one hand we don’t want to “refuse” their request because that might hurt their feelings or make them feel you have something to hide. On the other hand if you do accept, then you could have a sense of being watched and no longer feel free to comment or communicate the way you did before. A recent survey suggested that parents shouldn’t take it personally if their children overlook(忽略) their requests. When a teenager overlooks a parent’s friend request, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he is hiding something, but it could mean that this is one part of his life where he wants to be independent. Perhaps talking with parents and explaining would help soften the blow if you do choose not to add them to your friend list. 45. What can we infer from Paragraph 2? A. Parents feel se cure about their privacy online. B. Parents have realized the importance of social networks. C. Social networks successfully fill the generation gap. D. Social networks offer a chance for parents to communicate. 46. What maybe the reason for teenagers to refuse a parent’s friend request? A. Their parents make negative comments on them. B. They hide something from their parents. C. Their parents tend to fall behind in technology. D. They are unwilling to be watched by parents. 47. What does this overlook of a parent’s friend request by a teenager potentially indicate? A. The teenager is hiding something from his parents. B. The teenager does not respect his parents’ requests. C. The teenager wants to be independent in certain aspects of his life. D. The teenager is unfamiliar with the use of social media. 48. What is the passage mainly about? A. Parents’ friend requests. B. Privacy online. C. The generation gap. D. Social networks. Passage 13 (2023-2024学年高一下·广东佛山·期中)“I’ll be there in a few minutes. I’m playing a game with a friend, a guy named Snoopy,” my 15-year-old son shouted from his room. “Oh, what is Snoopy’s real name?” I asked. “I have no idea,” he said. “Where is he from?” I continued. He responded, “I think somewhere in Canada. Oh, wait, it doesn’t even matter because Snoopy just left the game and he has been replaced with a robot.” “Your friend is replaced by a robot?” “It doesn’t matter, Dad. It happens all the time! The game continues.” My son doesn’t mind playing with a person or a robot, which is typical of gamers these days. I wonder whether the face-to-face experience of friendship that I grew up with will be lost by our ohildren. Aristotle, the great Greek thinker and educator. has pointed out that shallow friendship is easily formed but also easily quit because such bonds are weak and uncerturn. Deep friendship, by contrast, is when you care for your friend for his sake, not for any benefit you can get. This is selfless friendship. You can have only a couple of these friends because they require lots of time and effort. You must make sacrifices(牺牲) for each other. Presence in friendship requires “being with” and “doing for”. Perhaps the most typical feature of deep friendship is “doing for”, as my friend has my back in trouble or brings me soup when I’m sick. Only strong bonds have the power to motivate real sacrifices. But it is unclear why online “friends” would bother to do the hard work of friendship. When I asked my students whether they had people in their lives who would bring them soup when they were sick, they laughed at my Stone Age question and said they’d just order soup online. Digital life fills and absorbs waking life time so that people do not join in example cases of friendship, like sports, collective arts, free range childhoods, etc. In this way, digital life may produce false friendships. 49. Benefits from Online Friendship Passage 14 (2023-2024学年高一下·福建南平·期末)Parenting roles evolve from the full control and safekeeping of a young baby to the delicate dance between independence and guidance in adolescence(青春期). Eventually, our children become adults, and if we are lucky, we will have lifelong friendships with them. Play is a key element of friendship with children. With babies and very young children, we play with them, engaging in back-and-forth activities. They often start the game, and we join in. They pull us into play, and we love it. In the language of experts who research children from birth to 3 years old, we express delight in these interactions. But delight often hits a snag when our children learn how to say “no”. From this point onward — into adolescence--we focus on getting children to behave. We tend to be the parent, not the friend, often saying “because I said so”. Highlighting our role as taskmasters limits our parenting tools. If we can leave time and space for child-driven play and activities--without adult demands or expectations--we can return to delight. These friendly interactions expand our relationship with our children. It’s not the same as peer friendship, but we are being friends. Beyond play, the other foundational component of parent friendship is the child-directed conversation. Maintaining a friendly, non-judgmental standpoint in conversation with your kids can provide you with a world of trust and engagement. Being quiet and not saying anything are undervalued parenting tools. Instead, we can keep our ears open for informal chatter and then listen with intention and presence. And it’s usually best if we don’t offer ad vice unless asked for it. Being curious and compassionate and listening deeply to their stories and worries build emotional bonds, maintain communication, and produce trust, which sounds like friendship. In my experience as a child, a parent, and a child psychiatrist, I think we can be more than command-and-control. And I firmly believe that we can treat children with affection and respect, as companions. 52. What does the underlined word “snag” in paragraph 2 mean? A. Misjudgement. B. Demand. C. Challenge. D. Response. 53. What is a parent advised to do in a child-directed conversation? A. Be a deep listener. B. Start the topic of a talk. C. Never make any comments. D. Avoid any informal chatter. 54. What is the author’s attitude towards developing companionship with children? A. Doubtful. B. Approving. C. Unclear. D. Negative. 55. What is the suitable title for the text? A. Parent-child Friendship Bonds B. Lifelong Parent-child Relationship C. Fundamental Elements of Friendship D. Parenting Roles in Children’s Growth Passage 15 (2023-2024学年高一下·湖南长沙·期末)We’ve all been there: in a lift, in line at the bank or on an airplane, surrounded by people who are, like us, deeply focused on their smartphones or, worse, struggling with the uncomfortable silence. What’s the problem? It’s possible that along with the rapid development of society, we all focus on our phone and desktop, and therefore it results in our compromised conversational intelligence. However, it’s more likely that none of us start a conversation because it’s awkward and challenging, or we think it’s annoying and unnecessary. But the next time you find yourself among strangers, consider that small talk is worth the trouble. Experts say it’s an invaluable social practice that results in big benefits. Dismissing small talk as unimportant is easy, but we can’t forget that deep relationships wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for small conversation. “Small talk is the grease(润滑剂) for social communication,” says Bernardo Carducci, director of the Shyness Research Institute at Indiana University Southeast. “Almost every great love story and each big business deal begins with small talk,” he explains. “The key to successful small talk is learning how to connect with others, not just communicate with them.” In a 2014 study, Elizabeth Dunn, associate professor of psychology at UBC, invited people on their way into a coffee shop. One group was asked to seek out an interaction with its waiter; the other, to speak only when necessary. The results showed that those who chatted with their server reported significantly higher positive feelings and a better coffee shop experience. “It’s not that talking to the waiter is better than talking to your husband,” says Dunn. “But interactions with peripheral(边缘的) members of our social network matter for our well-being also.” Dunn believes that people who reach out to strangers feel a significantly greater sense of belonging, a bond with others. Carducci believes developing such a sense of belonging starts with small talk. “Small talk is the basis of good manners,” he says. 56. What does the underlined word “compromised” in paragraph 2 mean? A. Weakened. B. Enhanced. C. Secret. D. Natural. 57. What is important for successful small talk according to Carducci? A. Showing good manners. B. Relating to other people. C. Focusing on a topic. D. Making business deals. 58. What can we learn about small talk from the coffee shop study? A. It made the coffee taste better. B. It reduced waiting time in line. C. It improved people’s mood and experience. D. It helped them bond with the server deeply. 59. What is the text mainly about? A. Elevator manners. B. The importance of small talk. C. Smartphones and social media. D. Developing deep relationships. Ⅱ.七选五 Passage 1 (2023-2024学年高一下·四川成都·期末)The saying “good fences make good neighbours” means that having clear boundaries (界限) and respecting each other’s space can lead to a better relationship between neighbours. This saying is often used when people have disagreements over property lines or other issues related to shared spaces. 1 This includes being honest and open with your neighbours about any issues that may arise, such as noise complaints or property disputes. If you are an independent person who values privacy, it is still important to communicate with your neighbours in a frank and respectful way. 2 3 Holding onto grudges(积怨) and resentments can lead to a poisonous relationship that is difficult to repair. It is important to remember that everyone makes mistakes and has different viewpoints, so it is important to approach conflicts with an open mind and a willingness to compromise(让步). One way to avoid conflicts with your neighbours is to establish clear boundaries and expectations from the beginning. 4 By establishing these expectations early on, you can avoid misunderstandings and potential conflicts down the road. 5 By respecting each other’s space and establishing clear boundaries, you can build a positive relationship with your neighbours and avoid conflicts. Remember, “good fences make good neighbours”. A. This will help to avoid misunderstandings and conflicts. B. The boundary shows people live separately from each other. C. Being a good neighbour requires honesty and a willingness to forgive. D. Giving others a privacy space can also make the relationship stronger and longer. E. This can include discussing property lines, parking arrangements, and noise levels. F. In order to be a good neighbour, it is important to understand your duties and responsibilities. G. If there is a disagreement or conflict with your neighbour, it is important to try to forgive and move on. Listen attentively If someone in trouble approaches you and wants to listen to your views, give them your full attention. 8 , but to listen carefully and patiently. The more you listen, the better advice you can give. 9 Even if you have experienced psychological training through an organization like Training For Mind, it doesn’t mean you can offer people the mental health support as professionals do. This article explores these methods that can help you. Practice greeting. 11 Try to remind them to say hello to relatives and friends. If they forget to say “hi”, gently remind them. Try something like, “That’s our neighbor Tom! Do you want to say hello?” Suggest looking someone in the eye. It can be hard for anyone, so this step takes a little extra time. 12 This can make it feel more like a game and can help them get more comfortable! If you notice your-child staring at the ground while talking to someone, gently suggest they look up. 13 This can make them extra shy! Say what they should do. “No” without any suggestion may leave your child feeling confused about what to do next. 14 This way they know what good behavior they should practice instead. 15 Always be kind, polite, and positive in front of your child. You are a positive example to learn from. Consider eating dinner as a family each night. This is a great place to practice polite conversation as well as dinner table manners in particular. A. Set a good example. B. Remind them to say “please”. C. Avoid embarrassing them, though. D. Practicing saying “hello” is the first step. E. Saying what they should do is a good idea. F. Passage 4 (2023-2024学年高一下·安徽蚌埠·期末)Running with a group has lots of benefits, especially when running long distances. But group running also requires that you follow some basic etiquette(礼仪) and behavior rules. Here’s advice on running etiquette for group running. Leave your headphones at home. Sure, music helps push some runners along. However, it’s antisocial to wear headphones during a group run. It can also be dangerous because listening to music means you’ll be less aware of your surroundings. 16 Don’t jingle(发出叮当声) . 17 But you can bet that it will annoy at least one person in your group. You don’t want to become known as “The Annoying Loose Change Guy”. Be prepared with what you need. 18 Carry your own water and food, as well as some cash or a credit card, just in case you need it. Don’t run without considering the safety of others. Not only is it rude to take over a path and block other runners, walkers, or cyclists, but it can be a possible safety risk. To make other runners and cyclists easily pass, make sure you’re running no more than two abreast(并排), especially on busy roads, sidewalks, or paths. 19 For example, run in a clockwise direction on a circular route. 20 Runners join groups for the social element, but that doesn’t mean they want to hear the same person talk non-stop about their running achievements, injuries, or life problems during every run. Ask people, especially the new members of the group, questions to give them a chance to speak. A. Be silent sometimes. B. Give advice to others. C. You can’t know some group members very well. D. Don’t expect to rely on other runners for supplies. E. Running with coins or keys in your pocket may not bother you. F. Be aware of any special rules for running in parks or on paths. G. Besides, you won’t be able to hear instructions from other runners in your group. Passage 5 (2023-2024学年高一下·黑龙江齐齐哈尔·期末)Listening is one of the four primary forms of communication, along with reading, writing, and speaking. 21 . There’s a higher form of listening, fortunately, which leads to real communication. We call it “genuine listening”. And it’s the kind of practice we want to put to use. But to do genuine listening, you need to do three things differently. 22 . It is reported that only 7 percent of communication is contained in the words we use. The rest comes from body language (53 percent) and how we say words, or the tone and feeling reflected in our voice (40 percent) . To hear what other people are really saying, you also need to listen to what they’re not saying. 23 , everyone is tender inside and has a desperate need to be understood. Stand in their shoes. To become a genuine listener, you need to take off your shoes and stand in another’s. In the words of Robert Byrne, “Until you walk a mile in another man’s shoes you can’t imagine the smell”. 24 Practice mirroring. Think like a mirror. What does a mirror do? It doesn’t judge. It doesn’t give advice. It reflects. Mirroring is simply this: Repeat back in your own words what the other person is saying and feeling. Mirroring isn’t mimicking(模仿) . Mimicking is when you repeat exactly what the other person says, like a parrot. If you practice mirroring but don’t really desire to understand others, they will see through it. If your attitude is right but you don’t have the skill, you’ll be okay. 25 . If you have both the attitude and the skill, you’ll become a powerful communicator! A. Listen with your eyes, heart, and ears B. Choose some interesting topics C. You must try to see the world as they see it and feel as they feel D. It’s a bad habit to pretend to listen to other people E. However, many people don’t know how to listen F. But it doesn’t work the other way around G. No matter how hard people may appear on the surface. 1. B 2. D 3. A 4. Reasons of building a harmonious relationship 【答案】5. A 6. C 7. D 8. 9. A 10. D 11. B 12. From body language to eye contact and all the other social clues that exist in real life that aren’t available in a text message, it’s far easier to be present when you’re face-to-face.(随着我们社会中保持在线和随时待命的压力不断增长,面对面的交流相比数字交流提供了更多真实的沟通。 Passage 5 (2023-2024学年高一下·浙江湖州·期末)Smartphone ownership among younger children is increasing rapidly. B 18. B 19. A 20. 根据文章第二段“Others have bought one after intense pressure from their child or worry their child will be left out socially if all their friends have a phone.(另一些人则是迫于孩子的巨大压力才买了手机,或者担心如果所有的朋友都有手机,孩子会被社会排斥。)” 根据文章第三段“This means talking to the children about how and when they use their phone, why they shouldn’t answer unknown texts and calls, beware of giving out personal information online, and about being kind online.(这意味着要告诉孩子们如何以及何时使用手机,为什么他们不应该接听未知的短信和电话,小心在网上泄露个人信息,以及在网上要善良。)” 根据上文“This means talking to the children about how and when they use their phone, why they shouldn’t answer unknown texts and calls, beware of giving out personal information online, and about being kind online.(这意味着要告诉孩子们如何以及何时使用手机,为什么他们不应该接听未知的短信和电话,小心在网上泄露个人信息,以及在网上要善良。)” 故选A。 20. 根据文章最后一段“As children mature, parental guidance also needs to change. After about 12 months of the child's phone ownership, checking phone s needs to fade, and ongoing open communication needs to become the mainstay. Parents may also try new ways of using the phone or certain apps together with their child. For example, they can use the screentime feature to discuss, and be aware of their developing phone habits.(随着孩子的成熟,父母的指导也需要改变。 Passage 6 (2023-2024学年高一下·江西上饶·期末)Under a nearly full moon in the darkness of the night sky over Kansas, a group of student star watchers sat in a circle taking turns on the telescope. D. To invite more kids to join the project. 24. What is the best title of the text? A. Students exploring the universe by the telescope B. A new American town being open to the students C. The big names donating fund to the students’ growth D. Students building bridges across the American divide 【答案】21. A 22. B 23. A 24. 26. What can we infer about social media? A. They blame humans’ desire for fame. B. They offer a platform for self-expression. C. They provide users with different activities. D. They benefit users by judging them carefully. 27. What is the author’s attitude to self-expressions? A. Unclear. B. Favorable. C. Negative. D. Hopeful. 28. Which of the following could be the best title for the text? A. The Internet encourages self-expression B. Social media realize online users’ dreams C. Network mixes personal with public affairs D. A 【语篇导读】这是一篇说明文。 根据第二段中“Thе book Human as Media gives us a vivid picture of this explosion of authorship. 根据第一段中“Online, they can find all the information available to humankind and form their own opinion about anything. This has completely changed society. But what disturbs most is the new technological ability of the large number of people to express themselves. 根据最后一段“But with this great service comes great risks. Those self-expressions are exposed to some extent unseen before. Unprepared and unhesitating judgments regarding someone’s personal matters or public affairs increase incredibly. Personal becomes public and public becomes personal. 通读全文,根据第一段中“More than 4.85 billion people have access to the Internet. A. Crowded and noisy. B. Quiet and empty. C. Harmonious and lively. D. Comfortable and satisfying. 38. The author mentions mermaids in paragraph 4 to . B 46. D 47. C 48. 根据第二段的“However, more and more parents are beginning to realize just how important social networks are in their lives. This realization has given many parents the motivation (动机) to educate themselves about social networking sites.(然而,越来越多的父母开始意识到社交网络在他们的生活中有多么重要。这一认识使许多家长有动力对社交网站进行自我教育)”可推知,父母已经意识到社交网络在他们生活中的重要性。故选B。 46. 推理判断题。根据第四段中的“On the other hand if you do accept, then you could have a sense of being watched and no longer feel free to comment or communicate the way you did before. (另一方面,如果你接受了,那么你可能会有一种被监视的感觉,不再像以前那样自由地评论或交流)”可知,如果孩子接受了父母加为好友的请求,他会有被监视的感觉。由此可知,青少年拒绝父母好友请求的理由可能是不愿意被父母监视。故选D。 47. 细节理解题。根据第五段中的“When a teenager overlooks a parent’s friend request, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he is hiding something, but it could mean that this is one part of his life where he wants to be independent.(当一个青少年忽视了父母的朋友请求时,这并不一定意味着他在隐瞒什么,但可能意味着这是他想要独立的生活的一部分)”可知,青少年忽略父母的好友请求可能意味着他在生活的某些方面想要独立。故选C。 48. 通读全文,尤其是第一段中的“Social networking sites have become extensions (延伸) of the school hallways, so would you add your parents as “friends” and allow them to view your online activities and conversations with friends? (社交网站已经成为学校走廊的延伸,所以你会把你的父母加为“朋友”,让他们看到你的在线活动和与朋友的对话吗)”可知,文章主要围绕父母申请加孩子为好友的请求展开,说明随着社交媒体的迅速发展,越来越多的父母亲意识到社交网络的重要性,想加孩子为好友,但是对于孩子来说,这是个艰难的选择,接受或者拒绝都会让自己遭遇麻烦。故选A。 Passage 13 (2023-2024学年高一下·广东佛山·期中)“I’ll be there in a few minutes. 49. How does the author lead in the topic of the text? A. By presenting a dialogue. B. By bringing in a robot friend. C. By telling an interesting joke. D. By introducing an online game. 50. What can we know from the text? A. False friendships are sure to arise in digital life. B. Real care and commitment strengthen real friendship. C. Strong connections can be formed easily in Internet age. D. Teenagers today can turn to online friends in tough times. 51. What can be the best title for the text? A. Youth Friendship in Digital Background B. Deep Friendship and Stliless Friendship C C. Face-to-face Experience of Friendship D. Benefits from Online Friendship 【答案】49. A 50. B 51. 根据第一段““I’ll be there in a few minutes. This is selfless friendship. You can have only a couple of these friends because they require lots of time and effort. You must make sacrifices (牺牲) for each other.(因为这种关系是脆弱和不稳定的。相比之下,深厚的友谊是你关心你的朋友是为了他,而不是为了你能得到的任何好处。这就是无私的友谊。你只能拥有几个这样的朋友,因为他们需要花费大量的时间和精力。你们必须为彼此做出牺牲)”可知,真正的关心和承诺能加强真正的友谊。故选B项。 51. 主旨大意题。根据第一段“My son doesn’t mind playing with a person or a robot, which is typical of gamers these days. I wonder whether the face-to-face experience of friendship that I grew up with will be lost by our ohildren.(我儿子不介意和人或机器人一起玩,这是当今游戏玩家的典型特征。我想知道,伴随我长大的那种面对面的友谊是否会被我们的孩子所失去)”以及最后一段“Digital life fills and absorbs waking life time so that people do not join in example cases of friendship, like sports, collective arts, free range childhoods, etc. In this way, digital life may produce false friendships.(数字生活占据并占据了人们清醒的生活时间,因此人们不会加入友谊的例子,比如体育、集体艺术、自由放养的童年等等。这样,数字生活可能会产生虚假的友谊)”可知,本文主要讲述了现代数字生活对人们面对面交往和深层次友谊的影响,所以A项“Youth Friendship in Digital Background(数字背景下的青年友谊)”是本文最好的标题。故选A项。 Passage 14 (2023-2024学年高一下·福建南平·期末)Parenting roles evolve from the full control and safekeeping of a young baby to the delicate dance between independence and guidance in adolescence(青春期). Parenting Roles in Children’s Growth 【答案】52. C 53. A 54. B 55. A 【语篇导读】这是一篇说明文。文章介绍了父母与孩子之间可以培养朋友关系。 52. 词句猜测题。根据划线词上文“In the language of experts who research children from birth to 3 years old, we express delight in these interactions.(在研究从出生到3岁儿童的专家的语言中,我们对这些互动表示高兴)”根据本句的But可知,此处构成转折关系,由此可知,从出生到3岁这些互动是快乐的,但是当孩子长大会说“no”时,这种快乐就遇到了挑战。故划线词是“挑战”。故选C。 53. 细节理解题。根据第三段“Being curious and compassionate and listening deeply to their stories and worries build emotional bonds, maintain communication, and produce trust, which sounds like friendship.(抱着好奇心和同情心,深入倾听他们的故事和烦恼,这样会建立情感纽带,保持沟通,产生信任,这听上去就是友谊)”可知,家长应该做一个深度倾听者。故选A。 54. 推理判断题。根据第四段“And I firmly believe that we can treat children with affection and respect, as companions.(我坚信我们可以用关爱和尊重的态度对待孩子,作为他们的伙伴)”可推知,作者支持发展与孩子的友谊。故选B。 55. 主旨大意题。根据第一段“Parenting roles evolve from the full control and safekeeping of a young baby to the delicate dance between independence and guidance in adolescence (青春期). Eventually, our children become adults, and if we are lucky, we will have lifelong friendships with them.(父母的角色从完全控制和保护幼小的婴儿演变为在青春期独立和指导之间微妙的舞蹈。最终,我们的孩子长大成人,如果幸运的话,我们将与他们建立终身的友谊)”结合文章讲述父母与孩子之间可以培养朋友关系。所以A项“亲子友谊纽带”适合做标题。故选A。 Passage 15 (2023-2024学年高一下·湖南长沙·期末)We’ve all been there: in a lift, in line at the bank or on an airplane, surrounded by people who are, like us, deeply focused on their smartphones or, worse, struggling with the uncomfortable silence. 【答案】56. A 57. B 58. C 59. B 【语篇导读】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了闲聊给人们生活带来的积极影响和重要意义。 56. 词义猜测题。根据第二段的“What’s the problem? It’s possible that along with the rapid development of society, we all focus on our phone and desktop, and therefore it results in our compromised conversational intelligence. However, it’s more likely that none of us start a conversation because it’s awkward and challenging, or we think it’s annoying and unnecessary. (有什么问题吗?有可能随着社会的快速发展,我们都把注意力集中在手机和电脑上,因此导致我们的谈话能力……。然而,更有可能的是,我们都不交谈了,因为这很尴尬,很有挑战性,或者我们认为这很烦人,没有必要。)”可知,人们的注意力集中在自己的手机和电脑上,不愿意与他人交流,因此可推知人们的谈话能力会有所“减弱”。由此可知,画线词与A 项意思相近。故选A。 57. 细节理解题。根据第三段的“The key to successful small talk is learning how to connect with others, not just communicate with them.(成功闲聊的关键是学会如何与他人建立联系,而不仅仅是与他们交流。)”可知,成功闲聊的关键在于如何与他人建立联系,而不是仅仅和他们交流。故选B。 58. 细节理解题。根据第四段的“The results showed that those who chatted with their server reported significantly higher positive feelings and a better coffee shop experience.(结果显示,那些与服务员聊天的人表现出明显更高的积极情绪和更好的咖啡馆体验。)”可知,闲聊能够有效地提升人们的情绪和咖啡馆体验感。故选C。 59. 主旨大意题。通读全文可知,根据第二段的“But the next time you find yourself among strangers, consider that small talk is worth the trouble. Experts say it’s an invaluable social practice that results in big benefits.(但下次当你发现自己身处陌生人之中时,考虑一下,闲聊是值得的。专家表示,这是一种宝贵的社会实践,会带来很大的好处。)”和第四段的“The results showed that those who chatted with their server reported significantly higher positive feelings and a better coffee shop experience.(结果显示,那些与服务员聊天的人表现出明显更高的积极情绪和更好的咖啡馆体验。)”以及最后一段的“Dunn believes that people who reach out to strangers feel a significantly greater sense of belonging, a bond with others. Carducci believes developing such a sense of belonging starts with small talk. “Small talk is the basis of good manners,” he says.(邓恩认为,与陌生人接触的人会有更强烈的归属感,与他人建立联系。卡杜奇认为,培养这种归属感始于闲聊。“闲聊是良好举止的基础,”他说。)”可知,本文主要介绍了闲聊给人们生活带来的积极影响,即闲聊的重要性。故选B。 Ⅱ.七选五 Passage 1 (2023-2024学年高一下·四川成都·期末)The saying “good fences make good neighbours” means that having clear boundaries (界限) and respecting each other’s space can lead to a better relationship between neighbours. 【答案】1. F 2. A 3. G 4. E 5. C 【语篇导读】这是一篇说明文。文章主要说明了如何建立良好的邻里关系。 1. 根据后文“This includes being honest and open with your neighbours about any issues that may arise, such as noise complaints or property disputes. The more you learn about mental health, the better position you may be in to help those with mental health problems. 6 . Attend a training course In fact, anyone can benefit from psychological training. This article explores these methods that can help you. Practice greeting. 11 Try to remind them to say hello to relatives and friends. If they forget to say “hi”, gently remind them. Try something like, “That’s our neighbor Tom! Do you want to say hello?”(试着提醒他们向亲戚朋友问好。如果他们忘记说“嗨”,温柔地提醒他们。你可以这样说:“那是我们的邻居汤姆!你想打个招呼吗?”)”可知,D项(练习说“你好”是第一步。)与标题相符,practice为同词复现,说明了下文具体说明怎样教孩子打招呼,故选D项。 12. 根据标题“Suggest looking someone in the eye.(建议直视某人的眼睛。)”和上文的“It can be hard for anyone, so this step takes a little extra time. (这对任何人来说都很难,所以这一步需要额外的时间。)”以及下文的“This can make it feel more like a game and can help them get more comfortable! If you notice your-child staring at the ground while talking to someone, gently suggest they look up.(这可以让它感觉更像一场游戏,可以帮助他们变得更舒服!如果你注意到你的孩子在和别人说话时盯着地面看,温柔地建议他们抬头看。)”可知,F项(练习时,让你的孩子看着你的眼睛。)承接上文及标题,说明了让孩子看着父母的眼睛进行练习,下文说明了这样做可以让孩子因为面对的是父母而感到放松,如果对他人孩子感到了不适,要提醒孩子看着对方的眼神。故选F项。 13. 根据上文的“This can make it feel more like a game and can help them get more comfortable! You are a positive example to learn from. Consider eating dinner as a family each night. This is a great place to practice polite conversation as well as dinner table manners in particular.(在孩子面前,始终保持善良、礼貌和积极的态度。你是一个值得学习的积极榜样。考虑每晚全家共进晚餐。这是一个练习礼貌对话以及餐桌礼仪的好地方。)”可知,可以在全家人一起吃饭时为孩子树立榜样,A项(树立一个好榜样。)能够概括本段主要内容,适合作为标题。故选A项。 Passage 4 (2023-2024学年高一下·安徽蚌埠·期末)Running with a group has lots of benefits, especially when running long distances. 【答案】16. G 17. E 18. D 19. F 20. A 【语篇导读】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了团队跑步时的基本礼仪和行为规则。 16. 上文“However, it’s antisocial to wear headphones during a group run. It can also be dangerous because listening to music means you’ll be less aware of your surroundings.(然而,在团队跑步时戴耳机是不合群的。这也可能是危险的,因为听音乐意味着你会减少对周围环境的感知。)”指出跑步时戴耳机不合群且危险,耳机会减少对周围环境的感知。G选项“Besides, you won’t be able to hear instructions from other runners in your group.(此外,你将无法听到你组中其他跑步者的指示)”承接上文,继续说明跑步时戴耳机的不良影响,与上文构成并列关系。上下文为段首主题句“Leave your headphones at home.(把耳机留在家里)”提供了理论支撑。故选G项。 17. 根据下文“But you can bet that it will annoy at least one person in your group.(但你可以打赌,它肯定会惹恼你团队中的至少一个人)”可知,上下文有转折有关系,下文说会惹恼团队中的至少一个人,与E选项“Running with coins or keys in your pocket may not bother you.(口袋里装着硬币或钥匙跑步可能不会让你感到困扰)”中“may not bother you”构成转折关系,同时E项中“Running with coins or keys”照应主题句“Don’t jingle (发出叮当声) ”。故选E项。 18. 下文“Carry your own water and food, as well as some cash or a credit card, just in case you need it.(自带水和食物,以及现金或信用卡,以防万一)”提到要自己准备好跑步需要的各种物品,D选项“Don’t expect to rely on other runners for supplies.(不要指望依靠其他选手提供补给)”解释了原因,句中“supplies”照应下文“water and food, as well as some cash or a credit card”。故选D项。 19. 上文“For example, run in a clockwise direction on a circular route.(例如,在环形路线上顺时针方向跑)”提到在环形路线上跑步的方向,是对F选项“Be aware of any special rules for running in parks or on paths.(注意在公园或小路上跑步的特殊规则)”的举例说明。故选F项。 20. 设空句是段首主题句。下文“Runners join groups for the social element, but that doesn’t mean they want to hear the same person talk non-stop about their running achievements, injuries, or life problems during every run. Ask people, especially the new members of the group, questions to give them a chance to speak.(跑步者加入团体是为了社交,但这并不意味着他们想在每次跑步时听到同一个人不停地谈论他们的跑步成就、受伤或生活问题。向别人提问,尤其是向小组的新成员提问,让他们有机会发言)”建议不要成为不停地谈论自己的事情的人,要让别人有机会发言,自己有时要保持沉默。A选项“Be silent sometimes.(有时候要保持沉默)”是本段内容最佳概括。故选A项。 Passage 5 (2023-2024学年高一下·黑龙江齐齐哈尔·期末)Listening is one of the four primary forms of communication, along with reading, writing, and speaking. 【答案】21. E 22. A 23. G 24. C 25. F 【语篇导读】本文是一篇说明文。主要介绍了如何倾听,倾听需要注意的事项。 21. 根据下文“There’s a higher form of listening, fortunately, which leads to real communication. (幸运的是,有一种更高形式的倾听,它导致了真正的交流。)”可知,空处内容与下文转折,且与倾听有关,与E项“However, many people don’t know how to listen (然而,许多人不知道如何倾听。)”上下文一致,符合文意,故选E项。 22. 根据下文“It is reported that only 7 percent of communication is contained in the words we use. The rest comes from body language (53 percent) and how we say words, or the tone and feeling reflected in our voice (40 percent). To hear what other people are really saying, you also need to listen to what they’re not saying. (据报道,只有7%的交流包含在我们使用的词语中。其余的来自肢体语言(53%)以及我们如何说话,或者我们的声音中反映的语气和感觉(40%)。要听别人真正在说什么,你也需要听他们没有说什么。)”可知,本段是要讲述如何去倾听,与A项“Listen with your eyes, heart, and ears (用你的眼睛、心灵和耳朵去听)”上下文一致,符合文意。故选A项。 23. 根据下文“everyone is tender inside and has a desperate need to be understood. (每个人的内心都是温柔的,都迫切需要被理解。)”可知,人们表面上看起来很强硬,但是内心是温柔的,与G项“No matter how hard people may appear on the surface. (无论人们在表面上看起来多么强硬。)”上下文一致,符合文意,构成让步状语从句。故选G项。 24. 根据上文“Stand in their shoes. (站在他们的立场上。)”可知,本段主要讲述要站在别人的立场上,与C项“You must try to see the world as they see it and feel as they feel (你必须试着以他们所看到的和他们所感受的方式看待世界)”上下文一致,符合文意,故选C项。 25. 根据上文“If your attitude is right but you don’t have the skill, you’ll be okay. (如果你的态度是正确的,但你没有这个技能,你会没事的。)”可知,与他人沟通时态度正确的话你就会没事,反之则不然,与F项“But it doesn’t work the other way around (但反之则不然)”上下文一致,符合文意。故选F项。 ( 22 )原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究! 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
