I learned his different calls; he made a low continuous sound when content, and sounded a noisy alarm when afraid. I'd search for his food and clean up his waste, which was tiring. I never named him because he didn't belong to me -- I had to remind myself that he needed to return to the wild, though our bond was so strong that it became immeasurable.
