1.the same和different
精 讲:如果两个或两个以上的事物是完全相同的,英语中可以用the same表达;如果不相同,我们可以用different表达。the same 和different可以作形容词、作表语或者作定语修饰名词,代词等。
运 用:We all attend the same school, but different classes.我们在同一个学校,但不同的班级。
The colour of these two dresses is the same, but the styles are different.
这两条连衣裙的颜色是相同的,但是款式不同。

2.like、the same as和different from
精 讲:如果说明事物或人物之间在某种程度上的相似性,我们常用like、be like、look like;
如果说明事物或人物完全相同,我们常用the same as;
如果既不相似,也不相同,我们常用be different from。
运 用:He ran out like an arrow. 他像箭一般地飞奔出去。
It's like a special piece of music. It sounds great!它就像一种特别的音乐。听起来棒极了!

An MP3 player is different from a CD player. An MP3 player doesn't use discs.

3.the same…as
精 讲:我们可以把名词或短语放在the same 之后,构成“the same +n./ phrase +as”句型。
运 用:My father works in the same company as Lisa's uncle.
我爸爸和丽萨的叔叔在同一家公司工作。
This is the same watch as I lost last week.
这同我上周丢失的那块手表一样。

4.be similar to、very like与like…very much
精 讲:be similar to意思是“与……相似”;very like是“非常像”的意思,此时like为介词,反义词为unlike;like…very much是“非常喜欢……”的意思,此时like为动词,反义词为dislike。
运 用:Look at the two girls. Although one is an American and the other is a Chinese, they are similar to each other in appearance.
看看这俩女孩。虽然一个是美国的,另一个是中国的,但是她们长得有点相似。

注 意:the same, different, like, the same as, different from, the same…as都可以用来表示事物的异同,但是意义上有些差异。like意为“像……”, the same, the same as, the same…as都表示“一样”的意思, 而different, different from则表示“不同”。用法上的区别如下:

(1)sth. +v. + the same These light bulbs look the same.
(2)sth. +v. + different Their effects on the environment are different.
