①There is a restaurant in London. It has special dishes known for their creativity. People can have a “blind adventure” as the whole dining experience takes place in complete darkness. They won’t see the menu until the meal is over and they should keep it a secret.
②I visited the restaurant with a friend, and we were warmly greeted at the door. As we entered the restaurant, we met our guide, Ghow. Ghow was born blind. He led us through the darkness to our table with my hand on his shoulder. My friend followed by holding onto my shoulder. This was just the beginning of a new experience. It was hard not to feel nervous sitting in the black room. But our waiter said he would be there near our table during the meal time. For the menu, we had the choice of “red” for meat, “blue” for fish or “green” for vegetables. Then we had no idea about what exactly would be on our plates.
③We discovered new ways to enjoy food by touching, smelling and tasting it. When we had our drink, my friend thought mine tasted better than hers, so we switched. Surprisingly, we found out that we were drinking the same thing. As it’s said, the grass is always greener on the other side. We sometimes don’t fully appreciate (感激) what we already have.
④The food was excellent, but the experience was more than just a nice meal. It brought back memories of my childhood. I became more excited about trying new things. It also taught me to value (珍视) what I already have.
4. When can people see their menu?
A. While they are eating. B. Before they start eating. C. After they finish eating.
5. What does the underline word “switched” probably mean in Chinese?

7. Which is the structure of this article?

【6题详解】
推理判断题。根据“... so we switched. Surprisingly, we found out that we were drinking the same thing.”可知,令人惊讶的是,我们发现我们喝的是同一种东西,并不是对方的更好喝。由此可推知,有时我们并没有完全欣赏我们自己所拥有的。故选C。

Paul Goldstein is a wildlife photographer. He took a snowmobile (摩托雪橇) to a part of Baffin Island in Canada to take photos of polar bears. He spent about four hours watching a mother polar bear and her babies as they went out. The mother bear always kept close to watch on her babies. Goldstein felt so lucky to get these photos (Here is one of them). Even though he has been taking photos for about 25 years, it’s always a pleasant experience for him to catch such special moments. He hopes that people will look at these photos and realize how important it is to protect the environment.
According to an article, the Baffin Island polar bear population is less than 3,000. The polar bears spend time on land when sea ice isn’t available. As soon as the waters freeze over, they are on the ice and on the lookout for their main food—seals (海豹).
Interestingly, polar bears usually give birth to twins. This allows a better chance for at least one baby to make it into adulthood. They babies grow up in the harsh Arctic (严寒的北极) environment, so that is understandable. Polar bear babies will normally stay with their mother for two-and-half to three years. During that time, she’ll teach them all the life skills. This includes hunting, swimming and feeding. However, as Goldstein’s photos clearly show, there’s still plenty of time for cuddles (拥抱).
8. How did Paul go to take the photos of polar bears?
A. Ride a snowmobile. B. Drive a snow truck. C. Ride a motorcycle.
9. Why does Paul want to show people the photos of polar bears?
A. He wants people to see how cold it is.
B. He wants people to see how big the bears are.
C. He wants people to realize environment protection is really important.
10. What skills does a mother bear teach her babies?
①hunting ②swimming ③feeding ④fighting
A. ①②③ B. ②③④ C. ①③④
11. Which of the following is true?
A. Having twins is good for polar bears’ population.
B. Polar bears stay in the sea when there is no sea ice.
C. The mother bears usually don’t spend much time with their babies.
【答案】8. A 9. C 10. A 11. A

If you want to speak English fluently, you need to be able to speak whole sentences. However, if you learn English one word at a time, it will be very hard to speak whole sentences. Learning words in phrases helps you use new vocabulary faster! Also, you’ll memorize grammar more naturally!

Dear Linda,
I have the habit of writing down all of my secrets and feelings. I just wanted to keep them to myself. However, I found that my mom read my dairy about two weeks ago. I didn’t feel good about that.
I actually had a big fight with my mom. She thinks it is okay for a mom to read her child’s diary. But I don’t think so. How can I ask her to stop?
Grace
Dear Grace,
Writing a diary is a good habit for expressing oneself. So it was natural for you to have felt unhappy that someone read your diary.
I would suggest you to have a longer chat with your mom. Being your mom does not give her the right to read your diary. Tell her how it makes you feel when she does this. Explain to her how important it is for you to have your own space.
It might also be helpful to know why your mom wants to read your diary. Perhaps she is worried about you and wants to know how you are doing. If so, then you can let her know you will ask for help when you need it. You can discuss better ways for her to check up on you. For example, you can set up a regular time to tell her about things like what happens at school.
If you feel uncomfortable sharing your feelings with your mom, think about why. Then you and your mum will need to discuss how she can be more supportive.
Hope my advice helps.
Yours,
Linda

Secondly, in order to get on well with your parents, you should talk about your feelings with them instead of shouting at them when you disagree with them. ①There is a restaurant in London It has special dishes known for their creativity.

第四部分 读写综合(共两节,满分25分)
第一节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面的语篇,根据语篇内容回答问题。
Dear Linda,
I have the habit of writing down all of my secrets and feelings.
Yours,
Linda
