Chinese is a tonal (声调的) language, meaning that changing the tone of just one syllable (音节) can affect a word’s meaning. Chinese writing has ancient roots, which is thought to have developed starting around 2000 B.C. Arabic Over 370 million people speak Arabic. Written Arabic uses a cursive-style font (连笔) that looks more like artworks than writing. Arabic is written from right to left rather than left to right, making it different from many other languages. English Around 379 million people speak English as a native language. It’s an official language in a huge number of other countries. English is the most widely spoken second language, with over a billion people speaking it as a non-native language. That means around twice as many people speak English as a second language than people who speak it as a first language. Italian Nearly 68 million people speak Italian. If you play music or sing, chances are that you already know a lot of Italian because many familiar musical terms are actually Italian. Not only will learning Italian help you pick up vocabulary, but it will also help you understand the meanings of musical terms in greater depth. 1.What is a feature of Arabic? A.It doesn’t have cursive-style fonts. B.It helps artists with their artworks. C.It is written from right to left. D.It is closely related to music. 2.Which language is the most widely used as a second language in the world? A.Arabic. B.English. C.Chinese. D.Italian. 3.What’s the number of people who speak Italian? A.Nearly 68 million. B.Around 370 million. C.Over 379 million. D.Around 1.4 billion. (23-24高一上·辽宁朝阳·阶段练习)Artificial Intelligence (人工智能) has been around for many years. Now robots are using AI to help us learn and improve some skills in a foreign language. This is not new — some of the online language tools we turn to every day are powered by AI. But as new technologies flood into the market, now is a great time to make use of the tech. And according to experts, these tools are making teachers’ lives easier. One of the things that stops some of us from practicing speaking in a new language is a lack of self-confidence. AI can help, because for some people, when they communicate with a chatbot (聊天机器人), they don’t need to be afraid of failure or shyness. The latest chatbots use something called natural language processing that allows them to understand human speech or writing. While chatbots are extremely useful for learners working alone, teachers can also ask an AI system to produce personalized textbooks for groups of students. AI can also provide feedback (反馈) in seconds — the days of waiting a week for work to be graded are gone. Past online language tools and games were able to tell you when you were wrong, but they weren’t always able to explain why. Now, not only has that changed, but the explanations are detailed and immediate. But this is not to underestimate the role of the teacher, who can use the technology to help learn more about the strengths and weaknesses of their students and personalize their teaching. So, if you want to impress your friends with your perfect speech, don’t be afraid of AI. Just think of it as a useful tool for both teachers and language learners, which will give you more time and space to enjoy learning something new! 4.Why might someone prefer communicating with chatbots? A.Because they can produce textbooks. B.Because they are more knowledgeable. C.Because there is no need to worry too much. D.Because they are more professional than humans. 5.What can we learn about the latest chatbots from paragraph 3? A.It can ensure students to get a high grade. B.It meets personalized students’ needs. C.It reduces the cost of education. D.It can make detailed lesson plans. 6.What does the word “underestimate” mean in paragraph 4? A.Undervalue. B.Understand. C.Establish. D.Revive. 7.What does the passage mainly talk about? A.The history of online language tools. B.The challenges that AI-robots bring to us. C.The advantages of AI in language learning. D.The role of teachers in the modern classroom. (23-24高一上·河北邯郸·阶段练习)When I was a high school student. I was faced with the world with the innocence that only comes with youth. I had always been fascinated by the idea of learning a new language, but I had never truly understood the challenges involved. That was until one day, when I decided to take the risk and learn Spanish. It all started when I visited my cousin in Spain, Watching her effortlessly communicate with locals in their native language, I was filled with envy. I realized that, despite my ability to speak English and a little French, I was still missing an important tool: a deep understanding of another major language. So, I did what any determined teenager would do; I set out to learn Spanish. I downloaded language-learning apps, bought textbooks, and even signed up for private classes. Actually, it was not easy. The grammar rules were different, the vocabulary unfamiliar, and the pronunciation challenging. But I refused to give up. I spent hours listening to Spanish music and watching Spanish language movies. I role-played with my teacher, speaking aloud and making mistakes. Gradually, the language started to feel more natural. Months passed, and my hard work began to pay off. My Spanish improved, and I felt confident enough to try speaking it in real-life situations. The first time I ordered a meal in Spanish in a restaurant, I felt like an explorer conquering a new land. Now, when I look back on that version of myself, I can’t help but feel proud, It might have taken months of hard work and late-night study sessions, but in the end, the journey was more than worth it. It has given me a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me. 8.Why did the author decide to learn Spanish? A.She felt a deep connection to Spanish culture. B.She was inspired by the cousin’s language skills. C.She was influenced by a friend’s recommendation. D.She wanted to impress people with fluent Spanish. 9.What did the author do during her journey to learning Spanish? A.She engaged in various activities. B.She quit learning Spanish halfway. C.She sought help from native speakers. D.She adopted her teacher’s study methods. 10.Which words can best describe the author? A.Positive and helpful. B.Determined and hard working. C.Gifted and curious. D.Generous and easy-going. 11.Where is the text most probably taken from? A.A travel story. B.A research paper. C.A news website. D.A personal blog. (23-24高一上·海南·阶段练习)People often ask which is the most difficult language to learn, and it is not easy to answer because there are many factors to take into consideration. Firstly, in a first language the differences are unimportant as people learn their native language naturally, so the question of how hard a language is to learn is only related to learning a second language. A native speaker of Spanish, for example, will find Portuguese (葡萄牙语) much easier to learn than a native speaker of Chinese, because Portuguese is very similar to Spanish, while Chinese is very different. The greater the differences between a second language and one’s first language, the harder it will be for most people to learn a second language. Many people answer that Chinese is the hardest language to learn, possibly influenced by the thought of learning the Chinese writing system, and the pronunciation of Chinese does appear to be very difficult for many foreign learners. However, for Japanese speakers, who already use Chinese characters in their own language, learning writing will be less difficult than for speakers of languages using the Roman alphabet (字母表). Some people seem to learn languages readily, while others find it very difficult. Teachers and the environment in which the language is learned also play an important role, as well as each learner’s purpose of learning. If people learn a language because they need to use it in their work, they often learn it faster than people studying a language that has no direct use in their day-to-day life. No language is easy to learn well, though languages which are related to our first language are easier. Learning a completely different writing system is a huge challenge, but that does not necessarily make a language more difficult than another. In the end, it is impossible to say that there is one language that is the most difficult language in the world. 12.What is the main idea of paragraph 2? A.Portuguese and Chinese are very different. B.Chinese is harder to learn than Portuguese. C.Portuguese is very easy for foreigners to learn. D.One’s first language can affect learning a second language. 13.Why do many people think Chinese is hard to learn? A.Its writing system is strange. B.Its pronunciation is old-fashioned. C.Its characters are difficult to understand. D.It has many differences from other languages. 14.What does the underlined word “readily” in paragraph 3 mean? A.Carefully. B.Easily. C.Freely. D.Slowly. (23-24高一上·江苏南京·阶段练习)In Europe, nine out of ten students study a foreign language. In the United States, only one in five does. From 1997 to 2008, the number of American middle schools offering foreign languages dropped from 75percent to 58 percent. From 2009 to 2013, one American college closed its foreign language program; from 2013 to 2017, 651 others did the same. At first glance, these statistics look like a tragedy (悲剧). But I am starting to accept the strange idea that maybe they are not. What is changing my mind is technology. I was in Belgium not long ago, and I watched various tourists from different nations use speech translation apps to change their own languages into English and French. The newer ones can even reproduce the tone of the speaker’s voice. I know a foreign language is a window into a new way of understanding the world. But even beyond the fact that this idea has been rather oversold, can we really say the low level of French or Spanish we and our classmates usually picked up in school really gave us a new look into the world and our lives in it? And if our goals are more limited and practical --- for instance, getting directions to the bus station in Rome-technology now makes that possible at the press of a button. With a smart phone and an app, foreign languages will no longer present most people with the challenge they once did. Learning to speak a new language well will be necessary for those who want to engage with (从事) literature or media in the original language, as well as those of us who find pleasure in it just because they are “there”. Strange as that is, it is in its way a kind of progress. 15.What is the author’s opinion about the drop in foreign language learning in the United States? A.It is a tragedy that needs to be avoided. B.It is an unacceptable situation that harms society. C.It is a challenge that will be overcome in the future. D.It is a positive development due to advanced technology. 16.What is the author’s attitude towards the idea that learning a foreign language gives us a new look into the world? A.Unconcerned. B.Doubtful. C.Curious. D.Supportive. 17.How does technology influence language learning for practical purposes? A.It makes the process easier and within reach. B.It provides an easy way to understand the world. C.It removes the need for language learning altogether. D.It improves the traditional methods of language learning. 18.Which of the following questions can be answered in the text? A.What challenges do translation apps bring to language learning? B.Why is it still necessary to learn foreign languages in the digital age? C.Will translation apps make learning foreign languages old-fashioned? D.How can technology help us learn foreign languages more efficiently? (23-24高一上·山东临沂·期中)Year-12 student Noah Little has already sat his first Chinese-speaking exam and said it was “the easiest exam I’ve ever done”. That view is not surprising given the Wagga High School student loves language — so much so he has built a Chinese translation app. Noah said his love of language was encouraged by his community. “Wagga is a place full of people from different cultures, and sometimes when I meet new people who have trouble speaking English I like to talk to them in their own language,” he said. “I also have a few Chinese friends so I think it will be cool to talk to them in their language.” The 17-year-old started teaching himself Chinese around five years ago, before taking distance education classes at the start of Year 11. His language ability was also useful in his part-time job at a local Chinese restaurant, where he translated orders for the cooks and customers. Noah said he also had a basic knowledge of seven other languages. It was while teaching himself languages that Noah got the idea of the translation tool. “I decided to make my own app because there weren’t many around — all the other apps were full of advertisements (广告) and the translation feature (功能) wasn’t powerful enough,” he said. His app also includes a word of the day feature, lessons on how to write Chinese characters (汉字) and a news feed of important Chinese news. He said learning computer programming to build the app had been like studying another language. With the end of school around the corner, Noah said he would like to pursue (追求) both his interests in computer programming and languages. “I’m planning to work for a year and save so I can go on to university as I really want to make a career (事业) out of one of these two topics.” 19.What do we know about Noah? A.He began to learn Chinese at 11. B.He failed his first Chinese exam. C.He likes teaching Chinese to people. D.He gets a lot from learning Chinese. 20.What are included in Noah’s app? A.Advertisements. B.Pieces of world news. C.Suggestions for memorizing words. D.Ways of writing Chinese characters. 21.What has Noah decided to do shortly after high school graduation? A.Look for a job. B.Attend university. C.Develop a new app. D.Learn more languages. 22.Which of the following can best describe Noah? A.Curious and creative. B.Humorous and honest. C.Courageous and caring. D.Outgoing and outspoken. (22-23高一上·云南保山·阶段练习)TOEFL and IELTS have been the main choices for English ability testing in higher education admissions (录取) for international students until now. In recent years, several companies have developed new English language tests that are low-cost and easy to use. Duolingo set up its own test of English language ability. Jennifer Dewar works as an official (行政人员) at Washington University, which is one of the hundreds of universities in and outside the U.S. that now take the test results for international admissions. Duolingo created the test to make higher education available to more people worldwide. The TOEFL and the IELTS cost between about $180 and $240. They are only given in several centers around the world. Some test-takers have to travel to take the tests, adding to the costs. However, Duolingo offers its test entirely over the Internet for $49. All test-takers need is a computer with a microphone, listening device and self-facing camera. David Payne is a president for Educational Testing Service, which runs the TOEFL test. He agrees that improving availability of higher education is important. But he says general English knowledge isn’t the only thing universities require. Universities need to know how successful a student will be in using the level of academic (学术的) English that their teachers will expect of them. But Duolingo may fail to show that. Payne said, “The tests for the academic market should provide the value that’s necessary for making an important decision. And saving money doesn’t seem worth it.” In a word, universities have to do their research to decide if any new tests work as well as traditional ones in their cases. It really comes down to a question for the universities about what’s available, what the products show, and if they’re satisfied with their choices. In general, having choices is important. 23.What do we know about the Duolingo test? A.It could be taken anytime. B.It requires little of test takers. C.It makes English learning much easier. D.It is accepted by many U.S. universities. 24.What’s the purpose of the third paragraph? A.To show Duolingo is popular. B.To show Duolingo’s advantages. C.To show us how to take a Duolingo test. D.To show TOEFL and the IELTS are difficult. 25.What does Payne try to stress as important? A.Students’ ability to use academic English. B.Students’ grades of different tests. C.The general English knowledge. D.The ability to make a decision. 26.What does the author advise universities to do? A.Consider new tests first. B.Create more test choices. C.Choose tests after careful research. D.Use both TOEFL and Duolingo tests. (23-24高一上·河北张家口·阶段练习)A foreign language app with more than 300 million users is marking: Columbus Day, which is alternatively recognized as Indigenous (土著的) Peoples’ Day, by 1aunching classes in two native languages. The Duolingo app, which is free, has started offering classes in olelo Hawaii and Navajo. “Navajo is the most popular indigenous language in North America,” said Duolingo’s lead community. specialist Myra Awodey, who pushed for the, addition of this Native American tongue and expressed concern about the death of languages that, aren’t used. Rosetta Stone, another language-teaching program, also has a Navajo course as part of its endangered language series. We have lost around 600 languages in the last 100 years and as many as 90 percent of the world’s languages could extinct by the end of the century, according to the United Nations Permanent Forum of Indigenous Issues. The app developed its course in Hawaiian, after it was approached by networks of schools, organizations and programs focused on education in Hawaii. “So many people in our community cherish olelo Hawaii, but not all of them have the time or resources to take classes,” said Poki’I Seto of the Kanaeokana network that promotes; the teaching of the native Hawaiian language. “The Hawaiian language movement is carrying our olelo to places we never thought it would go. And that’s how it should be.” Duolingo’s new indigenous curricula (课程) aren’t full. courses like for English or Spanish or German, but are starting as a sort of boot camps to expand later. It’s expensive for apps to develop courses for smaller languages because the classes, must use recordings of real people speaking the language. In contrast, courses for more, common tongues such as English, Spanish or German can use computerized voices. 27.How did the foreign language app mark Columbus Day? A.By holding a ceremony. B.By asking people to attend classes. C.By giving classes in native languages. D.By showing the importance of native languages. 28.What does the underlined word “extinct” in Paragraph 3 mean? A.Disappear. B.Develop. C.Function. D.Change. 29.What is Poki’i Seto’s attitude towards the Hawaiian language movement? A.Regretted. B.Satisfied. C.Doubtful. D.Anxious. 30.Where is the text most likely from? A.A diary. B.A guidebook. C.A novel. D.A newspaper. (23-24高一上·湖北孝感·期中)To develop one’s taste in English, the most effective way is to read a wide variety of English books. Yet one may be at a loss to choose the right books, especially as a beginner. As a native Spanish, I would like to share some of my experience. My first English novel was Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, recommended by many English teachers and professors as an ideal book for English learners. But my experience was somewhat disastrous. I had great difficulty in understanding the novel, let alone enjoying it. It’s not the vocabulary that troubled me, but rather the way Austen makes sentences, and her way of thinking, which seemed too hard for me at that time. My enthusiasm was much recovered after reading Hemingway’s novel A Farewell to Arms. No long and complicated sentences. And I particularly liked his brief and straightforward (简洁的) style. So my first suggestion is, as a beginner, you’d better choose contemporary novels instead of classical ones. However, if you limit yourself to novels you will miss a lot of treasures. English essays can at once inform you, entertain you, and improve your taste in English. The best example is Bertrand Russell’s work. His simple language enables his philosophy within the reach of ordinary people. Here comes my second suggestion— essays are necessary. Never follow others’ suggestions and opinions blindly, however famous or influential (有很大影响的) the person might be. We should be open to various ideas, but always think and determine for ourselves. As a saying goes, one man’s meat is another man’s poison. With that in mind, we are bound to find out our favorite writers through reading and develop our fine taste in English. 31.What made the first English novel that the author read hard to understand? A.Complicated conversations. B.Sentences and Austen’s thinking style. C.The old-fashioned vocabulary. D.Not knowing the social background. 32.Which word tan best describe the author’s first English novel reading experience? A.Terrible B.Challenging C.Enjoyable D.Inspirational 33.What advice does the author give in the last paragraph? A.Choose books that challenge us most. B.Read books that are instructive. C.Don’t be affected by others’ ideas. D.Compare books before buying 34.What is the author’s purpose of writing the passage? A.Give comments on literature works. B.Tell beginners how to choose English books. C.Encourage people to read more English books D.Recommend first class books to English learners. 根据 Arabic 中“Arabic is written from right to left rather than left to right, making it different from many other languages.(阿拉伯语是从右到左而不是从左到右书写的,这使它与许多其他语言不同。)” 根据 English 中“English is the most widely spoken second language, with over a billion people speaking it as a non-native language. (如果我们的目标更加有限和实际——例如,获取到罗马公交车站的方向——现在的技术使得按一个按钮就可以实现这一点。有了智能手机和应用程序,外语将不再像以前那样给大多数人带来挑战。)”可知,从实际目的出发,技术使语言学习的过程更加容易,且更加触手可及。故选A。 18. 根据第三段“I was in Belgium not long ago, and I watched various tourists from different nations use speech translation apps to change their own languages into English and French. The newer ones can even reproduce the tone of the speaker’s voice.(不久前我在比利时,我看到来自不同国家的各种游客使用语音翻译应用程序把他们自己的语言变成英语和法语。较新的甚至可以复制说话者的声调。)”提出一个现象——更多的人使用翻译软件来翻译语言,第四段中“And if our goals are more limited and practical --- for instance, getting directions to the bus station in Rome-technology now makes that possible at the press of a button. With a smart phone and an app, foreign languages will no longer present most people with the challenge they once did. Learning to speak a new language well will be necessary for those who want to engage with (从事) literature or media in the original language, as well as those of us who find pleasure in it just because they are “there”. Strange as that is, it is in its way a kind of progress.(如果我们的目标更加有限和实际——例如,获取到罗马公交车站的方向——现在的技术使得按一个按钮就可以实现这一点。 根据第一段中“Year-12 student Noah Little has already sat his first Chinese-speaking exam and said it was “the easiest exam I’ve ever done”. That view is not surprising given the Wagga High School student loves language — so much so he has built a Chinese translation app.(12年级学生诺亚·利特尔已经参加了他的第一次中文考试,他说这是“我做过的最简单的考试”。这种观点并不奇怪,因为这位Wagga高中的学生热爱语言,以至于他开发了一款中文翻译应用。)”可知,Noah热爱学习语言,他学习中文的经历促使他开发了一款中文翻译应用程序;由第三段中“The 17-year-old started teaching himself Chinese around five years ago, before taking distance education classes at the start of Year 11. His language ability was also useful in his part-time job at a local Chinese restaurant, where he translated orders for the cooks and customers.(这位17岁的少年大约在五年前开始自学汉语,然后在11年级开始上远程教育课程。他的语言能力在他在当地一家中餐馆的兼职工作中也派上了用场,他为厨师和顾客翻译菜单。)”可知,学习汉语使Noah在兼职的餐厅更好的为客人服务。由此推知,汉语学习让Noah获益良多。故选D。 20.细节理解题。根据第五段“His app also includes a word of the day feature, lessons on how to write Chinese characters (汉字) and a news feed of important Chinese news.(他的应用程序还包括每日一词功能、如何写汉字的课程,以及重要中国新闻的新闻推送。)” 根据最后一段中“With the end of school around the corner, Noah said he would like to pursue (追求) both his interests in computer programming and languages. ‘I’m planning to work for a year and save so I can go on to university as I really want to make a career (事业) out of one of these two topics.’(随着学校即将结束,诺亚说他想在计算机编程和语言方面继续追求自己的兴趣。‘我计划先工作一年,然后攒钱上大学,因为我真的很想在这两个学科中找到一个作为自己的职业。’)”可知,Noah即将毕业,他计划先工作一年攒钱,然后在上大学。由此可知,Noah决定高中毕业后先找一份工作。故选A。 22. 根据第三段中“The 17-year-old started teaching himself Chinese around five years ago, before taking distance education classes at the start of Year 11. (这位17岁的少年大约在五年前开始自学汉语,然后在11年级开始上远程教育课程。)”、第四段中“Noah said he also had a basic knowledge of seven other languages. It was while teaching himself languages that Noah got the idea of the translation tool. ‘I decided to make my own app because there weren’t many around — all the other apps were full of advertisements (广告) and the translation feature (功能) wasn’t powerful enough,’ he said.(诺亚说他还掌握了其他七种语言的基本知识。正是在自学语言的时候,诺亚有了翻译工具的想法。他说:‘我决定做一个自己的应用,因为周围的应用不多——所有其他的应用都充斥着广告,翻译功能也不够强大。’)”以及第五段“His app also includes a word of the day feature, lessons on how to write Chinese characters (汉字) and a news feed of important Chinese news.(他的应用程序还包括每日一词功能、如何写汉字的课程,以及重要中国新闻的新闻推送。)” A。 根据第二段中“Jennifer Dewar works as an official (行政人员) at Washington University, which is one of the hundreds of universities in and outside the U.S. that now take the test results for international admissions. (Jennifer Dewar是华盛顿大学的一名行政人员,华盛顿大学是美国国内外数百所接受其测试结果作为国际入学考试评判标准的大学之一)”可知,多邻国考试被许多美国大学所接受。故选D项。 24.推理判断题。根据第三段“The TOEFL and the IELTS cost between about $180 and $240. They are only given in several centers around the world. Some test-takers have to travel to take the tests, adding to the costs. However, Duolingo offers its test entirely over the Internet for $49. All test-takers need is a computer with a microphone, listening device and self-facing camera. (托福和雅思考试的费用在180美元到240美元之间。它们只在世界各地的几个中心提供。一些考生不得不长途跋涉去参加考试,这增加了考试费用。然而,多邻国完全通过互联网提供测试,价格为49美元。所有考生需要的是一台带有麦克风、听力设备和自动摄像头的电脑)”可知,本段主要是将多邻国考试与托福和雅思考试进行对比,表明其价格更低、考试形式更简单方便,目的是展示其优势。故选B项。 25.细节理解题。根据第四段中“But he says general English knowledge isn’t the only thing universities require. Universities need to know how successful a student will be in using the level of academic (学术的) English that their teachers will expect of them. (但他说,一般的英语知识并不是大学所要求的唯一东西。大学需要知道学生在使用老师期望的学术英语水平方面有多成功)”可知,Payne强调学生使用学术英语的能力也很重要。故选A项。 26. 根据最后一段中“In a word, universities have to do their research to decide if any new tests work as well as traditional ones in their cases. It really comes down to a question for the universities about what’s available, what the products show, and if they’re satisfied with their choices. 根据第一段“A foreign language app with more than 300 million users is marking: Columbus Day, which is alternatively recognized as Indigenous (土著的) Peoples’ Day, by 1aunching classes in two native languages.(一款拥有超过3亿用户的外语应用正在通过推出两种母语课程来纪念哥伦布日,这一天也被认为是印第安土著人日)”可知,这款外语应用是通过推出两种母语课程来纪念哥伦布日的。故选C项。 28. 故选A项。 29. 根据倒数第二段““So many people in our community cherish olelo Hawaii, but not all of them have the time or resources to take classes,” said Poki’I Seto of the Kanaeokana network that promotes; the teaching of the native Hawaiian language. “The Hawaiian language movement is carrying our olelo to places we never thought it would go. And that’s how it should be.”(Kanaeokana网络的Poki’I Seto表示:“我们社区中有很多人珍视olelo Hawaii,但并不是所有人都有时间或资源去上课。”“夏威夷语运动正在将我们的母语带到我们从未想到的地方。这就是我们的初衷。”)”可知,Poki’I Seto认为夏威夷语运动正在将他们的母语带到我们从未想到的地方,这是他们的初衷,所以是满意的。故选B项。 30.推理判断题。根据第一段“A foreign language app with more than 300 million users is marking: Columbus Day, which is alternatively recognized as Indigenous (土著的) Peoples’ Day, by 1aunching classes in two native languages.(一款拥有超过3亿用户的外语应用正在通过推出两种母语课程来纪念哥伦布日,这一天也被认为是印第安土著人日)”以及纵观全文可知,本文主要讲述了一款语言学习应用——Duolingo在哥伦布日(或印第安土著人日)推出了olelo Hawaii和Navajo两门土著语言的课程,旨在帮助保护因少有人使用而濒临灭绝的土著语言,所以这是一篇新闻报道,应是出自一份报纸。 根据第二段“It’s not the vocabulary that troubled me, but rather the way Austen makes sentences, and her way of thinking, which seemed too hard for me at that time.(困扰我的不是那些词汇,而是奥斯汀造句的方式,以及她的思维方式,这在当时对我来说似乎太难了)”可知,作者的第一本英文读物《傲慢与偏见》的句子结构和作者简·奥斯汀的思维方式使作者很难读懂这本书。故选B。 32. 根据第二段“My first English novel was Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, recommended by many English teachers and professors as an ideal book for English learners. But my experience was somewhat disastrous. I had great difficulty in understanding the novel, let alone enjoying it.(我的第一本英文小说是简·奥斯汀的《傲慢与偏见》,许多英语老师和教授都推荐它为英语学习者的理想读物。但我的经历有些灾难性。我很难理解这部小说,更不用说欣赏它了)”可知,“糟糕可怕”最能描述作者第一次读英语小说的经历。故选A。 33. 根据最后一段“Never follow others’ suggestions and opinions blindly, however famous or influential (有很大影响的) the person might be. We should be open to various ideas, but always think and determine for ourselves. As a saying goes, one man’s meat is another man’s poison.(永远不要盲目听从别人的建议和意见,不管这个人多么有名或有影响力。我们应该对各种各样的想法持开放态度,但总是为自己思考和决定。俗话说,一个人的美味是另一个人的毒药)”可知,作者在最后一段建议我们要自己做决定,不要盲目听从别人的建议,不要受别人选择的影响。故选C。 34.推理判断题。根据第一段“To develop one’s taste in English, the most effective way is to read a wide variety of English books.(要培养一个人的英语品味,最有效的方法是阅读各种各样的英语书籍)”以及“As a native Spanish, I would like to share some of my experience. (作为一个土生土长的西班牙人, 我想分享一些我的经验)”可推知,本文作者主要就如何选择适合自己的英文读物来读,给出了自己的建议。故选B。 答案第1页,共2页 答案第1页,共2页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
