Homework isn’t everyone’s favorite thing. But like it or not, it’s part of life for most students. Do students need homework? Here are four students’ opinions.
Peter: Students need homework. When we learn new things at school, we need to do some homework at home to help us remember them. Our homework can also give our teachers useful information. It tells them how much we learn in class and who needs more help. Homework is important at every stage (阶段) of learning.
Olivia: In my opinion, giving students homework is a bad idea. After school, we need time to exercise or learn other new things. If students work hard in class, it’s best not to give them homework.
Nancy: I think students need homework. But the amount (数量) should be different for students of different ages. Primary school students should get less homework. Middle and high school students can do more homework.
Mike: Students don’t need homework. After hours of sitting in class, learning subjects from math and science to history and reading, the last thing we want is homework. Doing another hour of work at home is just making us do the same thing as what we do at school all day. And if we spend much time doing homework after school, we will not have any time to do other things like team sports, exercise and playing. These are just as important as schoolwork.

Open an app (软件), order some food, and you can get your food after about 30 minute—this is a popular way for many people to eat these days. There are many different kinds of food, like chicken, hamburgers, fish and noodles. They are all delicious.
Why is take-away food (外卖食物) getting so popular? Because take-away food apps make ordering food quick. Also, some people are busy with their work so they have no time to cook. Some don’t know how to cook, and others don’t want to cook. In the UK, people eat 3,00,000 take-away food a day. The three biggest take-away food apps give 100 kinds of dishes from 60,000 restaurants. “There will be more orders of take away food,” Amelia Brophy told the BBC.
A few years ago, the BBC found that many people ate take-away food about two days a week. But eating too much take-away food isn’t good for your health. So the best way is to find a recipe book (食谱) and cook for yourself. Or watch your mom or dad cook, and then ask them to teach you how to cook. If you really don’t have time, order healthy food from the apps.

6. Why is ordering take-away food through apps becoming popular?
A. Because people like to eat outside.
B. Because take-away food is cheaper.
C. Because it’s fast to order through apps.
D. Because people don’t like to cook at home.

8. Amelia Brophy predicts that ________.
A. people will order less take-away food in the future
B. take-away food will become more expensive
C. there will be more orders of take-away food
