Radio host: Welcome opera lovers! I’m your host Martha Spencer. Today we’re going to talk about Aida, a timeless story of love in the time of war.
At the beginning of the opera, Aida, an Ethiopian princess, has been taken to Egypt as a slave.

Kun Opera: a short introduction
Kun Opera is an artistic and elegant form of traditional Chinese drama. It is one of the oldest forms of opera still performed today and is our national treasure. It started in the late Yuan Dynasty and developed during the early Ming Dynasty, in the area around Kunshan, Suzhou.
