Task 1:赏语言
心理描写是人物描写的重要组成部分,文章第一部分中副词短语at last的使用,表达了作者对高中生活的期盼,但是a little anxious的使用表明了作者面对陌生环境的忐忑。第四部分着重描写了作者在一个陌生环境中的心理变化:从早晨的worried到晚上的much more confident, 表明作者已经慢慢地融入了新的环境,适应了新的生活。
Task 2:析结构
文章以第一人称、以时间为线索,以在不同的课堂上接触到的老师和同学为明线,以自己的情感变化为暗线,按照时间的顺序,向我们描绘了“我”第一天的高中生活。根据课文内容完成以下表格。

Task 3:理文化
交换生(exchange student)又称学校间学生交流计划,“学生交换”是以提高不同地区、国家人民间的相互理解、尊重,培养青少年的世界观为宗旨的项目。
“国际学生交流计划”始于第二次世界大战之后,主要目的是加强全球不同国家之间的交流,增进国家间的了解、文化沟通和学术交流,促进各国之间的友好往来。目前每年世界各地有60多个国家和地区的学生参加交换项目,相互交换学生。美国国务院于1995年正式批准中国加入“国际学生交流计划”,其内容是每年从中国招收优秀学生到美国高中就读。
