One night, Gayle suddenly found that Jennifer, who was always lying beside her at night, was not there, so she got up at once and checked the whole house. However, Jennifer was nowhere to be found, making Gayle very worried. ②Gayle tried to be optimistic and told herself that Jennifer might return soon. However, Jennifer still didn’t appear the next morning. Gayle then called her nephews and friend Tracy for help. When they arrived, they comforted Gayle first. Then they started searching the neighbourhood, the streets and nearby blocks for any sign of Jennifer, but they still didn’t find Jennifer by lunchtime the next day. Gayle lived with her pet dog Jennifer, and one day she found Jennifer was missing. (Problem) Gayle turned to her nephews and friend Tracy, but Jennifer was still nowhere to be found by lunchtime the next day. Tracy accompanied Gayle in the search to offer help and support. After hours of searching, they got tired and decided to return home to rest for a while so that they could have more energy to search later on that day. They began walking back to Gayle’s home in a very depressed mood. ④On their way back, they heard a cry coming from an abandoned shed (棚屋). They ran over to the shed immediately. When they broke into it, they found a large hole in the ground. And to their surprise, Jennifer was there wagging her tail. Gayle had a feeling that Jennifer must be somewhere nearby. After hours of searching, Gayle and Tracy still couldn’t find Jennifer, so they decided to return to have a rest first.
