I’ll always remember the first time I tried ballet. My mother was a dancer and I wanted nothing more than to be like her, but after making mistakes during my first class, I felt like I wanted to stop right away. However, I told my mom I couldn’t wait to dance again because it was only my first day.

Whether you want to lose weight or grow high, it’s no secret that staying active is a necessary part of a healthy lifestyle. But as for exactly how much exercise you should do, it all depends on your fitness goals.
Still, there are general rules that anyone should follow, according to personal trainer Tom Mans. “The kind of training you do finally depends on your ability, goals, likes and dislikes, equipment available, what injuries you have, and how much time you have available,” Mans told The Independent. Consistency (坚持) is key, and even the small number of exercise can have a big difference on your health. Moreover, exercise can not only make the heart, bones and muscles strong, improve memory, sleep and your brain health, but also help to reduce stress, worries.
Sadly, hitting the gym once or twice a week won’t cut it. Four or five times a week is good. Mans says you should aim to hit the gym at least three times each week in order to see real results. “A frequent (经常的) gym activity makes your body a large enough training effects during the whole week, which makes the body to get stronger and healthier,” Mans said. “Each training should last for about 45 minutes to one hour.” His preferred training activity includes a 10-minute warm-up, 30 to 40 minutes of weight training, and five to 10 minutes of cooling down and stretching (拉伸). Half-hour training works best for conditioning (调节) sessions (一段时间) and interval (间隔) training, too.
According to Mans, it’s best to take a day’s rest between weight training sessions to allow your muscles time to recover. If you’re training different body parts each time, however, it’s OK to do weight training on continuous days.
