I knocked into a stranger as he walked by me. “Oh, excuse me,” I said. He replied with a smile and said, “Please excuse me too. I wasn’t noticing you.” We apologized and went our own ways.
Later that day, when I was cooking, my daughter was standing too close to me. When I turned to reach for some milk, I nearly knocked her over.
“Move out of the way!” I shouted.
She walked away sadly. But I didn’t feel like I had to apologize to her.
While I was in bed that evening, my husband said to me, “While dealing with a stranger, you were polite, but with a daughter you love, you were unkind. Your daughter brought you some flowers that she picked herself this afternoon. You’ll find them in the kitchen by the door. Have you seen the tears in her eyes?”
I quietly went and sat down by my daughter’s bed.
“Honey, I am so sorry,” I said. “Are these the flowers you picked for me?”
She said, “I found them by the tree. I picked them because they’re pretty like you. I knew you’d like them, especially the blue ones.”

A lot of people play sports, but very few people become sports professionals (专家). If sports aren’t going to be your future, then why should you play them? Why should you train every day? Why should you work hard and feel sore (酸痛的) the next day? Wouldn’t it be better to forget sports and only pay attention to your lessons? In fact, there are a lot of reasons to play sports.
First of all, sports help you stay in a good condition because they are a great way to exercise. When you exercise, your body makes endorphins (安多芬) which give you more energy and make you feel happier.
Also, sports teach young people how to communicate and work as a team. They teach young people to respect (尊重) their coaches, teammates and players from the other team. Many reports say that sports help young people stay out of trouble. If a young person plays sports, he or she may have fewer problems. This is because sports teach people about rules. They also teach people that if they work hard, they might succeed.
Finally, sports make people leave their houses. These days, a lot of people spend too much time watching television and playing video games. When you play sports, you go outside and exercise in the sun. You take in fresh air. All of these things are important.

A person comes towards you and says “hi”. But you have no idea who he or she is . If you often experience this, you may have face blindness (脸盲).
A new study showed that face blindness might be more common than we thought. One in 33 people may have it. Some have serious problems. They cannot even recognize friends or families. But some just have smaller problems. They spend a long time remembering faces. People could be born with face blindness, or develop it if they hurt their brain.
Face blindness sounds like just a small problem. But according to Joseph DeGutis, the writer of the study, people with it may have a bad social life. “Recognizing someone is a social signal. It means ‘you are important to me’,” DeGutis told Harvard Medicine News. Not recognizing others may lead to misunderstanding, and then fewer friends. Worry about recognizing faces may also make people stay away from social life.
Here are signs of face blindness. In films, you sometimes fail to tell the difference between characters. When a close friend changed their hairstyle, you couldn’t recognize them. When you meet a new group of people, it takes a long time before you can recognize each person. You’re not famous, but lots more people recognize you than you can recognize in return. If you see a person in two different places (for example in your school and in a shopping mall), you might think of them as two different people.
In the past, people paid little attention to this. The studies on face blindness only began in the 1990s. Today, more scientists and organizations are working to tell more people about face blindness and its effects on our social life.
66.What does the new study tell us about face blindness?
A.It may happen to 33 people.
B.It may cause more serious problems than we thought.
C.It makes most people forget their families’faces.
D.It is the result of hurting one’s brain in childhood.

A.take good care of friends or families B.talk face-to-face with friends or families
C.pick out the faces of friends or families D.communicate with friends or families easily
68.According to Joseph DeGutis, how might people feel when you can’t remember their faces?
A.They might think it is just a small problem.
B.They might think you don’t like them.
C.They might want to know more about face blindness.
D.They might start to feel worried about your social life.
69.According to Paragraph 3, what might people with face blindness do?
A.Stop taking part in social activities. B.Care more about their looks.
C.Try to better understand their friends. D.Study other people’s social life.

The hardest thing in the world is saying yes to the world. Do you say yes to the world? Most of us like saying no to the things we don’t like and yes to the things we like, and yet, everything we face is our life. We won’t say yes to the things we do not like, because we can’t accept them in heart.
When we say yes to the world, we begin to believe that whatever our situation is, we can work with it. We express belief (信念) in ourselves and the world. We also show a willingness to learn from everything around us, and we won’t run away from or hide when we don’t like what we see. So in one word, saying yes is really good for our life.
The question we might ask ourselves is what it will take to get to the point of saying yes. For some of us, when facing something we can’t work out , we cannot say no but have to say yes. For others, they might make a decision to say yes to life no matter what happens to them.
Saying yes to life might be difficult at first, and even painful at times, but if we continue to say yes to life, it will be less difficult in the end. And we will find the joy of being in a positive (积极的) talk to the world with a very strong word “yes”. We should accept everything life puts in front of us.
