Knowing that you preferto randomly pair up students for the after-class oral practice, I am quite worried about its undesirable effect. The reasons are as follows. Firstly, being randomly matched, students with different English speaking competence might achieve unbalanced practice results. In addition,the randomly-assigned/matched students may have "little to say"due to their different interests or unfamiliar relationships,leading to“inefficient oral communication.”Therefore, it is agreeable that students can choose their own study partners according to their preference so that they will take delight in practicing oral English.
