One day, a little girl found a butterfly cocoon(蝴蝶茧). She could tell that a butterfly was going to be born. She decided to wait for the butterfly to come out of the cocoon. She watched it for hours, but then the butterfly stopped moving—it seemed that it couldn't come out.
The girl wanted to help the butterfly get out. She went home and got a pair of scissors(剪刀). As she cut open the cocoon, the butterfly then easily came out. However, its body was swollen(肿胀的) and its wings(翅膀) were very small.
The girl still thought that she helped the butterfly. She sat there for another few hours and waited for its wings to grow. However, it didn't happen. The butterfly wasn't able to fly, and for the rest of its life, it could only move around with a large body and little wings.
The girl thought she was helping, but in fact, she was hurting it. When the butterfly broke free of its cocoon by itself, it was time for its body to get smaller and its wings to get stronger. So it could fly soon.
In our lives, suffering is the key to all doors, and sometimes even means growth. Without it, there's no way of life. So, next time you are faced with difficulties, remember the butterfly.

The elephant was using his body to hit the block. Several monkeys, thinking the block was made of cold water, tried to lick the block away with their tongues(舌头). All the animals were trying to break the block, but ended up failing.
However, just then someone said, "Look! Something is moving inside the block!"
In fact, it was the mole. He soon came out with the treasure. They were all surprised to see how the mole had got the treasure without breaking the block.
The mole told them that before doing that he had spent some time thinking and watching. He thought he could get in by digging a tunnel under the block. At the end of the tunnel he built a small fire. It quickly melted the ice and a hole appeared.

My favourite book
Good books are valuable treasures. Among all the books I've read, the novel called The Old Man and the Sea is my favourite. It was written by an American writer. It tells about a fisherman who is lucky enough to catch a huge fish, but he finds it hard to take it home. On his way back home, he has to fight against the fish and the sea.
I like the book best because it is such a meaningful story that I can learn a lot from it. The fisherman is brave and he never gives up when he is in trouble. I also learn that nothing seems terrible as long as we have a strong will and a brave heart.
