Recently I had a trip to Sydney with my parents. We visited the Wildlife Park.
The Wildlife Park has lots of different animals. Some are native (当地的) to Australia and can only be found there. There are more than 500 animals there, including kangaroos, koalas and crocodiles (鳄鱼). They are kept in their natural environment. I like the Wildlife Park better than a zoo. In zoos, most of the animals are in cages (笼子).
We first spent some time with the kangaroos. We could touch and feed them. It was very exciting to be so close to them. There were koalas there too. They looked very cuddly (令人想拥抱的). Although we couldn’t carry koalas, I could take a photo with one. It is a wonderful souvenir (纪念品) of my holiday in Sydney.
The Wildlife Park has plenty of freshwater and saltwater crocodiles. Some of them are very big and scary (吓人的) with huge teeth! I did not want to get too close to them.
There was also a bird show. The keepers showed us different species (种类) of birds. I saw an old parrot. It could "talk" and made a great impression on me.
I enjoyed the trip very much. There was so much to see.

For most of my 15 years, my father usually said very little to my mother and me. He preferred watching football matches on TV to talking to his family.
Everything changed one morning. As soon as I came downstairs to breakfast, I could see that he wasn’t quiet as usual. “ Can’t wait! FIFA World Cup! Big match! Must see! ”
I quickly found out what all the excitement was about : Dad is a big football fan.
I had never been interested in football, but Dad’s excitement that morning made me more and more curious. I had to find out why this sport was making my father act like a five-year-old kid on his first trip to Disneyland.
Dad decided that we should all eat at a little German restaurant so that we could watch the World Cup while eating. The match started a few minutes after we entered the restaurant. As I was eating my meal, a loud noise came from the television. Surprised, I looked up at the TV. “ Why is that man jumping up and down? ” Dad patiently explained, “ That’s Papa Bouba Diop, my son. It’s normal for them to jump up and down after they’ve scored. ”
Dad explained almost everything to me. His simple answers were a thing of the past. I loved the new Dad! I watched the rest of the match, becoming more and more interested. When I told my father that I planned to watch more matches with him, he smiled and gave me a wink (眨眼). At last we had something in common.
Football has really helped Dad and me get closer and form a stronger relationship with each other. Who says football is only about 22 men running after a silly ball?

Dear Frank,
I am writing this e-mail to tell you about my school.
My school is a little old, but there are many interesting places in it. There is a small library
and I can read and do my homework there. There is also a music room. We often have our music
class there. There are three computer rooms and a big gym (体育馆), too. Of all the places, I like
the gym best. I like going there after class to play basketball.
The school timetable is good. Classes start at 8:10 a.m. and finish at 3:00 p.m. It gives me
time to do after-school activities (活动). I go to the English club three times a week. There I can
read English magazines (杂志), watch English movies and listen to English songs.
Write to me and talk about your school, please!
Yours,
Carvin

The US is a very big country to visit, so choose carefully the places to see and the time to go. Bring a good map because you may want to travel around.
New York and Washington D.C are good places to visit in May or October. It’s not too hot then. In winter there’s a lot of snow.
The best plan is to arrive in New England in September. The weather starts to get cooler and the trees start to change color. It’s a good idea to bring your camera because you may want to take photos of the autumn leaves.
4000 kilometers away in Los Angles, California, the weather is fine any year. It’s nice to see the sun in December! Bring your swimsuit because you might want to swim in the sea.
In the northwest, it isn’t very cold, but there’s a lot of rain, so bring an umbrella. It’s pleasant to visit Alaska in July and August but it might be cool in the evening. So remember to wear some warm clothes. But don’t come in winter. It’ll be dark all day and freezing cold.
