(2024·四川省攀枝花市高三统考)As you can imagine, there are many types of advertisements in different mediums, on different channels, and with different goals for their business.
Print advertising
The first print advertisement ran in England in 1472. Since then, this type of advertising has become available in newspapers, magazines, and similar mediums of carrying a brand's message to its ideal users. In this advertisement method, the advertiser pays the publisher to place their advertisements in the publication.
Radio advertising
Radio advertising dates back to 1920, when the first commercial radio stations were launched in the United States. In this advertisement medium, the advertiser pays the radio station to play their advertisements during selected breaks between music or a radio show.
Television advertising
Television advertising originated in the 1940s with the promotion of practical items and political campaigns. In this advertisement medium, the advertiser pays the local or national TV network to show their advertisements during selected breaks in the network's regular programming.
Internet advertising
Internet advertising took root in the middle of the 1990s. In this advertisement method, the advertiser pays the website's owner to place their advertisements in exposed spaces that are minor to the website's own content. Internet advertising includes video, search engine marketing, and more.

(2024·江苏省百校联考高三质量检测)Some people browse TikTok and Instagram for recipes, memes and colorful opinions on the news. Erin Coleman says her 14yearold daughter uses these apps to search for videos about mental health diagnoses.
Over time, the teen started to self-identify with the creators, according to her mother, and became convinced she had the same diagnoses, including depression, autism (自闭症), mysophobia (洁癖) and agoraphobia (a fear of leaving the house).
“Every week, she would come up with another diagnosis,” Coleman told CNN. “If she sees a hint (暗示) of herself in someone, she thinks she has it, too.” After undergoing testing for mental health and medical conditions, her daughter was diagnosed not with the long list of conditions she had thought about but with severe anxiety. “Even now, she doesn't always think the specialists are correct,” Coleman said.
Social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram, have come under mounting scrutiny (审查) in recent years for their potential to lead younger users to harmful content and worsen what experts have called a national mental health crisis among teens. But Coleman is one of nearly two dozen parents who told CNN that they are worried about a different but related issue: teens using social media to diagnose themselves with mental health conditions.
A growing number of teens are turning to social platforms such as Instagram and TikTok for guidance, resources and support for their mental health, and to find conditions they think match their own—a trend that has alarmed parents, doctors and school counselors, according to interviews with CNN. Some teens start to follow creators who discuss their own mental health conditions, symptoms and treatments; others have come across posts with symptoms checklists to help decide if they meet the criteria for a diagnosis.
Using the Internet to self-diagnose is not new, as anyone who has used WebMD knows. And there can be some benefits. Some parents said social media has helped their teens get mental health information they've needed and has helped them feel less alone.

Broken seashells
It was the summer in midJuly at the Jersey shore. My fouryearold son Will and I loved heading off to the beach just before dinner when the rest of the vacationers seemed to be leaving for the day. The sun was still hot then and shining brightly.
Bucket in hand, we'd hit the sand and start our adventure. Will would run so quickly to the edge of the water and be soaked before I got there, laughing as the waves crashed and nearly knocked him down. We usually walked along the edge of the water, looking for seashells to fill our red sandcastleshaped bucket. Some days, the bucket was full, and other days just a few shells made it into the bucket.
On this particular day, there didn't seem to be too many shells washed up on the shore. Will began picking up whatever shells he saw lying in the sand. After a while, I peered into the bucket and saw nothing but broken shells. “Will, all of these shells are broken and no good. You need to find shells like this,” I explained, as I held up a perfectly shaped clamshell. Will gave me a puzzled look and continued on his way, gathering whatever shells he came across and dropping them into the bucket.
I continued my search for some time, and then stopped to watch him drop more broken shells into the bucket. Again, I stopped, but this time I asked in a stricter voice, “Will, why do you insist on filling our bucket with shells that are broken?” He looked up at me through his glasses with his big blue eyes and replied, “Mom, there are many more shells on the beach that are broken than perfect ones that you are searching for. We'll get the bucket filled faster with the broken ones.” True, I thought, but who wants a bucketful of broken shells? Will stared at me as if he knew what I was thinking. “Mom, these shells are broken, but they are still beautiful,” he explained.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式在相应位置作答。

Back home, I decided to preserve the moment of realization with Will.
He began pulling the shells from the bucket and commenting on their uniqueness. “Look! This one looks like a heart when you hold it this way!” he exclaimed, showing me a shell with an uneven shape. One after another, he introduced to me each broken seashell he had collected, his face lighting up with wonder and appreciation. “Each one of them is indeed one of a kind, darling.” I watched as he arranged the shells in the sand, admiring their extraordinary beauty. It dawned on me that he saw perfection where I saw imperfection.
Back home, I decided to preserve the moment of realization with Will. We washed the sand off each shell carefully with toothbrushes, and then displayed them carefully in the yard. Looking at the “broken shell garden”, Will smiled with great satisfaction. It is a constant reminder that we are all broken in some way, but we still possess beauty and uniqueness beyond belief. As for me, that day on the beach was not just about collecting shells; it was also about my fouryearold son teaching me an invaluable lesson that beauty comes in many forms.
