Unit 5 Music Period 5 Reading for Writing 教材分析 该板块以“写一篇演讲稿（讲述音乐怎样影响了人生）（Write a speech）为活动主题，引导学生深刻理解“Music is the medicine of the mind.”。 阅读文本是一篇演讲稿（speech）。由5个活动组成。活动1和活动2是阅读活动，活动3、4和5是循序渐进的写作活动。要特别注意演讲稿的结构特征和语言特征。 教学目标  1. 能正确理解使用下列词汇：disease, ache, treatment, moreover, satisfaction, being, various, somehow, outline, get through。 2. 引导学生在语境中理解和学习文本中出现的新词汇。 3．通过阅读、写演讲稿，理解其文体语言、结构特征，获取有效信息。 4. 阅读文章后分析文章结构，能够用所学语言知识和修辞手法来制作演讲稿。 教学重难点 【教学重点】 指导学生在了解演讲稿的结构和语言特征的基础上，写出生动感人的演讲稿。 【教学难点】 在演讲稿中使用得体的修辞手法来增强演讲感染力。 教学过程 Write a speech Step 1 Warming-up Think and share the view. How do you interpret the sentence that music is the medicine of the mind? 设计意图：通过问答式来介绍本课话题，引起学生兴趣，为下面的活动准备铺垫。 Step 2 Reading 1. Work on Activity 1. Look at the picture and make a prediction. 2. Work on Activity 2. Read the speech and answer the questions. 3. Work on activity 3. Listen to the speech and think about the question. 4. Work on activity 4. Summarize the characteristics of the language that the author uses to introduce her story and her feelings, especially rhetorical devices. 5. Explain rhetorical devices. 6. Match the names of rhetorical devices to the lettered sentences in the speech. 设计意图：通过3个阅读理解活动(5个步骤)，引起学生的阅读兴趣。从不同角度、不同层次设计的活动帮助学生理解演讲稿的修辞手法，以增加演讲稿的感染力。 Step 3 Pre-writing 1. Work on activity 5.
