When and where was Eric Whitacre born? 2. What did he say when he was inspired by Mozart’s music? 设计意图：激活学生的已知，引入课文中过去分词做状语的句子。 Step 2 Find and observe Activity 1: Work in groups. 1. Ss observe the following sentences and underline the past participles. (1).Born in the USA on 2 January 1970, Whitacre began studying music at the University of Nevada in 1988. (2) We were amazed at what he said at the meeting. (3) Moved by this music, he said, “It was like seeing color for the first time.” (4) Inspired, he asked his fans to make videos. 2. Ss discuss the functions of the past participles. 3. Ss summarize the functions of the past participles as predicative and adverbial. 4.
