To create a real situation to present the aim of this lesson: 1. arousing Ss’ interest and leading to the topic of TCs 2. making a TC Step 2: Listening to a talk about TCs Time limit:6 1. Ss scan the listening material and predict their answers according to the listening tip. 2. Ss listen to the talk and fill in the blanks. 3. T checks the answers with Ss. 4. T and Ss summarize the feature of the contents—they were typical technological products. 1. To help Ss get some basic information about TCs. 2. To develop Ss’ listening skills. Step 3: Exploring the 1939 TC Time limit:12 1. Ss read the passage on P51 for 3 minutes and answer two questions: (1) What were the purpose and contents of the 1939 time capsule? (2) What was Einstein’s message to the future generations about? How did he feel when he wrote the message? 2. Ss answer Q (1) and think about another question: Why were these objects chosen? 3.
