Camilla Chomp was a strange little girl. She hardly had any friends because she thought it was much more fun to spend her time alone eating chocolate.

Camilla left the house to look for some chocolate. She found a small house full of glasses. Among all the glasses, a blue glass caught Camilla’s attention. It was full of chocolate. There was also a card in it, saying “Change tears into chocolate.” Camilla was very excited. She ran out of the house to look for someone crying.

First, she met a little boy crying hard, and collected his tears. The tears were quickly changed into chocolate. While Camilla was collecting the tears, she comforted the boy. Finally the boy stopped crying and they had a fun time together.

Later, Camilla met a woman who had broken some plates and an old man who couldn’t find his dog. Camilla collected their tears and made them happy again. page number 0

I couldn’t wait to show my new shoes to my friends in the dance group. I had helped my parents do housework for three weeks to save the money to buy them, and I really loved them.

When practice started, I took off my new shoes and put them carefully in my red bag.

After practice, I opened my bag and found my shoes were gone! I ran to our teacher Mrs. Rodriguez and shouted, “Mrs. Rodriguez! Someone stole (偷) my shoes! I put them right in my bag before practice, and now they are not there!”

Mrs. Rodriguez asked the other students to look around for my missing shoes.

Everyone looked for the shoes, but they weren’t anywhere. Then, I noticed Sasha James opening up her bag and looking inside. There, right on the top, were my shoes!

“Those are my shoes, Sasha! Why did you steal them?” I asked angrily.

“I didn’t! I promise! I don’t know how they got in my bag,” said Sasha.

Suddenly (猛地), I felt embarrassed when I gave Sasha’s bag a second look. It was the same color as mine.

“I’m sorry for being so angry, Sasha. It seems that I put my shoes in your bag by mistake.”

“It’s OK,” Sasha said. “They’re really nice shoes. If they were mine, I would be upset about losing them, too.”

Standing there, I told myself not to say anything about someone without checking (核实) first the next time. What a lesson!

The government makes a new rule for walking dogs. The rule is that the dog owners can’t walk dogs until ten o’clock in the evening. After seven o’clock in the morning, they can’t either. Is it fair to dog owners? Here are some ideas from two students.

Sun Run, 14, Zhejiang

It’s a reasonable rule. It makes people feel safer. Dogs sometimes bite people or bark loudly, which makes people scared. These are big problems. For example, when I walk on the street, I’ll find a dog close to me. It is a bit scary. To stop things like this, these rules are necessary. What’s more, the rule allows dog owners to get up early and spend more time with their dogs. The early morning and late night are better time to walk their dogs, since there are few people outside.

Li Chenxi, 13, Sichuan

All lives should have the same rights as humans. Dogs have the right to enjoy their own free time. It’s unfair that humans can go outside while animals cannot. Humans shouldn’t ask dogs to follow the rules. Also, this rule makes the dog owners upset. It’s inconvenient for them to stay up late or get up early to walk their dogs. It may make many differences to their work and life. I think we can find better ways. For example, dog owners can just leash their big dogs so that they can’t go near or after other people.
