The reading part introduces the most fascinating place in China, Xi'an, from the perspective of Richard, a foreign student. The first text introduces the author's travel plan for Xi'an in the form of e-mail. The second text is a propaganda page about Terracotta Army, which is a treasure of Chinese culture, known as the "Eight Wonders of the World".This text introduces the basic situation of Terracotta Army in order to provide students related information. At the same time, through reading activities, students learn about how to get key information from a brochure,and explore the structure,useful expressions and proper tense of writing about travel plan.After that,students figure out how to write an emial to a friend telling about travel plan properly. Analysis of the students The teaching object is the first grade students in senior high school. They have learnt English for many years, so they have got some basic skills of reading and writing and gradually formed the ability to obtain information, process information, analyze problems and solve problems in English. However, writing a travel plan is an unfamiliar task. Therefore, I pay special attention to improving students’ ability to think and express in English, leading students to read for the useful information of the writing task.
