Unit 2 Culture shock 必考短语和句型 set off 使（炸弹等）爆炸           take off 脱下，（飞机等）起飞 get used to 习惯与，适应           on time 准时，按时 turn on 打开                      take part in 参加 to a certain degree 在某种程度上     under the weather 略有不适，不得劲 get married (to sb.) （与某人）结婚 in one’s spare time 在某人的空闲时间里 经典句型 1. I must admit that at first America was a big culture shock for me.我必须承认，起初美国（文化）对我来说是一次大的文化冲击。 2. Though I soon managed to get used to it, I still had problems because they used a lot of idioms.虽然我勉力适应了，但我仍然有麻烦，因为他们用了许多习语。 3. Parents can choose to send their children either to a state school, which is free, or to a private school, where a fee is required.父母可以选择送他们的孩子或者去免费的公立学校，或者去收费的私立学校。必考语法：一、so that既可引导目的状语从句，又可引导结果状语从句。区别这两种从句的办法有两个： ①目的状语从句里往往带有情态动词can, could, may, might等。 ②从意思上看，目的状语从句往往表示的目的很明确。 如： Speak clearly so that they may understand you. (目的状语从句)清楚地表达以便他们可以理解你。 Jack is badly ill so that he has to rest. (结果状语从句)杰克生病了，所以必须休息。 二、how many 与 how much 的区别： 1、所修饰词how many用来修饰可数名词的复数，它的句式是:How many+复数名词+ 一般疑问句+how much用来修饰不可数名词，表示数量，也可单独使用。 2、用法不同How many 表示多少，用来问数量。 例如：How many apples do you have?翻译：你有多少苹果？ How much 表示多少钱，用来问价格。 例如：How much is this dress?翻译：这个连衣裙多少钱？ how many的用法对there be句型中主语的数量如:some, five, only one等提问时,如果主语是可数名词,不管主语是单数还是复数一般都用复数形式提问。因为问话人不知道具体的数量是多少,而且many只能接可数名词复数形式,所以be一定要用are.即用How many+可数名词复数+are there+地点/时间状语 的句型结构。 例如: 1、There is a book on the desk. (用how many改为特殊疑句) How many books are there on the desk 翻译：有多少本书在桌子上？ 2、There are seven days in a week. (对划线部分进行提问) How many days are there in a week  翻译：一周有多少天？ how much 的用法 1、用来询问事物的数量，后接不可数名词。 例如： How much milk is there in the glass 翻译：玻璃杯里有多少牛奶？  2、用来询问事物的重量。 例如： -How much does the pig weigh 翻译：这头猪多重？ -Eighty kilos.翻译：八十公斤。  3、how much 意为“多少钱”时，可单独使用，也可构成词组how much money，但英语中常省略money，用来询问某物的价钱、价格。 （注意：how much询问价格时，回答若是中国的货币单位应采用汉语拼音yuan,fen来表示，几角常采用几十分来表示，字母用小写，且不用复数。 例如:－How much is the eraser 翻译：这块橡皮擦多少钱？－Ninety two fen.翻译：九角二分。）  4、用来询问数字计算的结果，相当于what。 例如： －How much is three plus one 翻译：三加
