Part 3　Grammar for Writing 一般过去时表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态,常和表示过去的时间状语连用,如:yesterday, last night, 1990, two days ago等。也表示过去经常或反复发生的动作,常和often, always等表 示频度的时间状语连用。 表示过去的时间状语常见的有yesterday, last night (week, year, month, Sunday), then那时候,at that time (moment), just now刚才,during在……期间,a few days (weeks, months, years) ago,以及由after, before, when, while, whenever等引导的表示过去的时间状语。 建议用时:10～15分钟　　　实际用时:　　分钟 一、一般过去时的构成 主语+be动词过去式(was/were)+其他 主语+实意动词过去式+其他 下面以动词be和work为例列出一般过去时的肯定式、否定式和疑问式。 疑问式和回答 动词 第一人称 第二人称 第三人称 be Was I…? No, they did not. 动词 肯定式 否定式 be I was… He (She, It) was… We (You, They) were… I was not… He (She, It) was not… We (You, They) were not… work I (You, He, She, It, We, You, They) worked I (You, He, She, It, We, You, They) did not work 二、动词过去式的变化规则 1.一般在动词原形末尾加-ed。 2.以-e结尾的动词加-d。 3.末尾只有一个辅音字母的重读闭音节词,双写这个辅音字母后加-ed。 4.以辅音字母+y结尾的动词,改y为i,再加-ed。 5.不规则动词过去式需要单独记忆。 三、一般过去时的用法 • 表示在过去某个时间经常发生的动作或存在的状态,常和表示过去的时间状语连用。如: He drank a bottle of apple juice just now.他刚才喝了一瓶苹 果汁。 He was late for school yesterday.他昨天上学迟到了。 We lived in Guangdong last year.去年我们住在广东。 Did you have a meeting yesterday morning? —No, we didn’t. ——昨天上午你们开会了吗?——不,没有。 They went to Australia five years ago.5年前他们去了澳大利亚。 • 表示过去经常发生的或习惯性的动作。如: My father always smoked a lot last year.爸爸去年总是抽很多烟。 When I was young, I played games with my friends every day. 小时候,我每天都和朋友们玩游戏。 四、以一般过去时表达委婉语气 • 一般过去时可以用来表示现在的时间,这主要用于日常会话,使用的语气较为婉转、客气。如: I wanted to as
