Learning Aims Through this course, students will be able to: 1. Distinguish the usage and meaning of V-ing form as adverbial and object complement. 2. Correctly use V-ing form to describe the character's behavior, express the state of action, explain the time, reason, condition, purpose, mode, degree, result and concomitant condition of action. 3. Distinguish the meaning and usage of V-ing form and past participle as attribute, predicative, adverbial and object complement. Ⅲ. Teaching ideas Students first understand the functions and meanings of V-ing as adverbial and object complement through the contrast of sentence patterns, then try to find more similar examples from the text, and consolidate their understanding through grammatical exercises and activities at the sentence and text levels. and learn to use the structure correctly.
