I always get top scores in computer science.” This disappointed (使……失望) me. I do believe this student has the 2 to do well in computer science. However, he may not achieve anything great 3 he experiences failure (失败) first. On the one hand, failure tells us to try harder. I’ll never forget how disappointed an artist friend was when he was refused from a master’s degree program. He waited for a year or two and tried again. He finally succeeded. He knew how 4 he was and worked even harder. Soon his artwork was so popular. Later, The New York Times 5 him. On the other hand, early success might be a setback (障碍) which we don’t realize. When I was a teenager, my teacher 6 everything I wrote, and I could get high marks on writing without really trying. By the time I got to college, I felt I had 7 to learn about writing, and I didn’t want any criticism (批评) on my writing. So I 8 courses that might have helped me improve as a writer. After college, I worked as a writer. Then, I experienced criticism and failure. That was when I began to grow. This is not to say that early success is 9 a setback. The student who always gets top scores in computer science may continue to succeed. The 10 is that he needs to keep learning and keep challenging himself. He mustn’t rest on his laurels (荣誉). 1．
