To warm up students and elicit the topic. Pre-listening 1. Look at the picture and answer the questions. To help students know the background knowledge and practice predicting before listening. While-listening 1. Listen to the cassette for the first time and check the predictions. To help students practise getting the main idea after listening. 2. Listen to the cassette for the second time find out the questions Mr Li asked. To help students find out the sentence pattern in the dialogue. 3. Listen to the cassette for the third time and answer the questions. To help students practise getting the detailed information while listening. 3. Read after the cassette and find out when to pause when reading in English. To guide students to understand when to pause while reading in English. 4. Do the pair work and complete the dialogues according to the pictures. To consolidate what they have learned. 5. Listen to another dialogue, take notes and fill in the table.
