Chinese Calligraphy I. 教学内容分析 本堂课基于必修二Module4关于中西方艺术的教学内容,为了拓展同学们的阅读面和对于中国艺术的了解,设计了一堂以中国书法为话题的群文阅读课,并结合阅读理解进行主旨大意概括。本篇阅读理解话题为中国书法 “Chinese Calligraphy”,该话题从国际视野的角度对中国书法进行了全面介绍,加深学生对于中国传统文化知识的了解。通过学习,要求学生全面了解书法,并且学会概括主旨大意和根据关键词找到细节信息。 II.学情分析 本节课授课对象为高一年级下期理科班学生,经过高一半年多的学习,有一定英语语言基础和阅读理解能力,但对于语篇阅读中的主旨大意概括和细节信息提取还不够熟练,且对中国传统文化知识了解不足。所以需要在知识面拓展和阅读能力上进行训练。 III. 教学目标 1、 了解中国优秀艺术—书法,并且能够用英语向外国友人介绍。 2、 熟练掌握概括段落主旨和根据关键词找出细节信息的技能。 3、 主动将课堂所学运用于生活和日常学习中,提升书法练习意识和英语阅读能力。 IV. 教学重难点 1、 重点:通过学习,全面了解中国书法并发现中国艺术的魅力 2、 难点:提升阅读过程中概括主旨大意和找出细节信息的能力 V. 教学方法 1. Teaching and learning 2. task-based method 3. group work VI. 教学过程Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Lead-in Purpose: To arouse Ss’ interest in learning about Chinese Calligraphy Play a video of Chinese Calligraphy and ask students to think about what we’ll learn in this class. Step 2 Reading Purpose: To practice students reading skills. And make clear of the structure and enable Ss to locate sentences according to the key words and then find out details needed. Enable Ss to talk about and gain the attractions of Chinese Calligraphy. 1. Read passage one carefully and individually then finish the after-reading tasks. Read for main ideas or for details of passages. 2. Work in pairs and check the answers of after-reading tasks. I. What are the four basic skills and disciplines of the Chinese literati? II. What are the five categories of Chinese Calligraphy? III. Choose the structure of passage one. IV. Find out or summarize the main ideas of each part. V. Which script is a simplified form for ancient officials to copy document? VI. Read passage two and fill in the four subtitles of each part. VII. What are the four treasures of the study? VIII. What may be used to make brush handles? IX. What features are considered when making ink stones? 3. Ss to share their answers. 4. Evaluate these questions with pictures and videos. Step 3 Experience calligraphy in class 1. Invite students (one from each group) to experience soft brush writing in clas
