As a nature photographer, I have to brave the elements. But despite the wind and the rain, I still enjoy working outside in the wild. One of the best things about this job is that you can observe animals in their natural environment.

My favourite place to take photos(照相) is Yellowstone National Park. As the world’s first national park, Yellowstone is famous for(因…著名) the variety(种类,多样化)of its wildlife, but it is probably best known for(因…著名)its bears(熊). These huge, strong animals can live for 30 years. Despite(尽管)a weight(重量)of up to 300 kilograms, they can run at a speed of (以…速度)around 64 kilometres per hour and are also excellent swimmers (游泳者).
Last spring(春天) in Yellowstone, I followed a path(小路) that took me through a dark forest(黑森林). When I finally stepped out(走出) of the trees, the view(风景,观点) was breathtaking(惊人的). An eagle(鹰) flew over the snow- capped(白雪皑皑的) mountains, which were reflected(映出,反射) in the still lake(静止的湖) below. While I was concentrating on (专注于)photographing this amazing scene(惊人的景色), I suddenly(突然)had a feeling that I was being watched. Slowly, and with the camera(照相机)still held to my eye, I turned... and froze(呆住). Only metres away from me was a bear. With water falling off its thick, brown hair, the bear stared back at(凝视) me.
Time stood still(静止不动) as the bear and I both waited to see who would move first. My legs started shaking. Somehow, I forced(强迫) my finger to press the button 按压按钮(照相机). A second later, the bear turned and ran back into the forest. When I recovered from (从…恢复)the shock, I looked at my camera. My most frightening but magical experience was now captured(捕获) forever in a single image(镜像).
From time to time(不时) I look at the photo as a reminder(提醒) to show respect to(尊重) all animals. It is after all毕竟 we who are the visitors to their world.
