A new study finds that 74 percent of the

The study was produced by the Peterson

after classifying the
wealth of billionaires as either self鄄made or
inherited. The study was based on Forbes
World蒺s Billionaires list over the past two
decades.
The study found that the percentage of
billionaires in South Korea who inherited their
wealth was the fifth largest in the world out
of 67 countries and two鄄and鄄half times higher
than the average rate of 30 percent. The coun鄄
tries that had a higher rate of the super鄄rich
with inherited wealth were Kuwait, Finland,
Denmark and the United Arab Emirates. The
study also found that the rate for China stood
at a mere two percent, 18 percent for Japan
and 29 percent for the U.S.. In Asia, the rate
of billionaires with inherited wealth stood at
37 percent in Singapore.
Experts believed that the reasons for the
high percentage of such billionaires in South
Korea lay in an economic structure centered
