Step 2 Work on 1a 1. Ask students to read the sentences and match the sentences with the similar meanings. 2. Check the answers. Choose some students to match the phrasal verbs with the nouns in class. 2. Let students make sentences with the phrases. 3. Choose some students to read their sentences in class. Tell them the boy in the pictures is Jimmy. 2. Ask students what Jimmy is doing. 3. Play the recording for students. Students just listen for the first time.
