Does technological advance really boost people’s sense of happiness?
Technological advance does improve our life quality to some extent(在某种程度上), but it also comes with some problems.
On the one hand, there’s no doubt that technological advance has made many people’s life much easier. For example, smart phones have made it very convenient to do many things online like shopping, banking and booking services and so on. Smart household appliances like floor cleaning robots can do tiring and time-consuming housework for us, which saves us energy and time for family quality time, thus, boosting our sense of happiness.
On the other hand, such advances are so technology-demanding that not all people can keep up with them, which in a sense causes some inconvenience. Take smart phones again for example. Due to Covid-19 prevention and control, scanning various QR codes has become a must in public. This is actually a burden for the old or those who have no smart phones. Hence, in this sense, it fails to boost happiness.
As a consequence, I think technological advance is a double-edged sword(双刃剑). But generally speaking, it does more good than harm. So let’s just look on the positive side of it.

Dear Henry,
I am Li Hua, a student from your writing class. There is going to be a paper-cutting exhibition in the Art Museum on Sunday. I am writing to invite you to admire it together.
It is well acknowledged that paper-cutting is one of the traditional Chinese art forms with a long history. Given that you are fond of traditional Chinese culture, I think this is a great opportunity that cannot be missed. The exhibition is scheduled to last approximately 8 hours, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Not only will all kinds of paper-cutting works created by famous artists of this field be on show that day, but a lot of useful and interesting activities will be held, from which you can have a clearer picture of Chinese culture. Anyone in
