How much do you know about Robin Hood?
Robin Hood is a hero from English folklore (民间传说). He was an archer(弓箭手) and a swordsman(剑客).
He became known for “robbing from the rich and giving to the poor”.
The group of people who helped him
were called his “Merry Men”. He and
his men live and hide in the forest.
Background
Prince John, the new King of England, made the people pay more taxes. He also took away their houses and animals, so people hated him very much.
Robin Hood wanted to punish him. He ordered his men to take money from Prince John’s bad men and then gave to the people.
