宠物狗勇救鸭子家庭
Jorge
Serrano
and
his
dog
Charlie
were
walking
through
a
park
in
Cornelius,
North
Carolina,
when
they
heard
a
noise
near
the
pond.
It
was
a
duck,
sounding
from
a
drain(下
水道)
in
the
centre
of
the
water.
Across
the
street,
about
150
feet
away,
a
smal
group
of
people
got
together
at
the
drains
mouth.
Five
baby
ducks
swam
too
close
and
were
sucked(使卷入)
into
the
drain
by
the
running
water.
You
could
hear
their
scary
cries
from
the
drains
mouth.
The
drain
was
less
than
2
feet
in
diameter(直径).
Serrano
would
never
fit.
But
Charlie
...
“Hel
do
anything
you
ask
him
to
do,”
said
Serrano.
“Hel
send
newspapers
when
he
walks
by
somebodys
house.
Or
hel
carry
flowers
to
somebody
if
you
ask
him
to
do
it.”
Charlie
looked
into
the
drain,
listening
carefuly.
“Go
and
get
the
ducks,”
Serrano
said.
It
was
dark,
dirty
and
scary
in
the
drain.
Charlie
took
a
few
steps
into
the
unknown.
He
turned
back
with
a
look
that
said,
“What
are
you
asking
me
to
do
here?”
“Go
in
and
get
the
ducks,”
Serrano
said
again.
Charlie
went
away,
returning
a
few
seconds
later
with
a
dirty
stick.
He
handed
it
hopefuly
to
Serrano.
“Ducks,”
said
Serrano.
This
time,
the
message
came
across.
Charlie
moved
into
the
cold,
dark
pipe.
His
footfals
went
away.

What
if
Charlie
got
lost
or
stuck?
But
the
dog
did
what
he
does
best—taking
things
back.
Minutes
later,
he
appeared,
gently
holding
a
duckling
in
his
mouth.
Serrano
cheered
him,
and
then
sent
him
back
in.
Five
times,
Charlie
to
