河马的善性本能
Every
October,
thousands
of
wildebeest
(牛 羚)
and
zebras
come
together
along
the
Mara
River.
They
wait
to
cross
the
rushing
water
to
the
other
bank.
Yule
is
a
park
keeper.
He
sees
a
baby
wildebeest
and
a
baby
zebra
jump
into
the
water.
But
he
cant
predict
what
wil
happen
next.
The
baby
wildebeest
tries
to
go
across
the
river
but
the
rushing
water
washes
it
away.
The
baby
wildebeest
tries
to
keep
its
head
above
water,
but
it
cant.
Suddenly
a
hippo(河马)
rises
out
of
the
water.
It
is
lying
in
the
water
near
the
baby
wildebeest,
and
it
quickly
swims
after
the
baby
wildebeest.
Hippos
can
be
very
dangerous,
so
Yule
wants
to
see
what
the
hippo
wil
do
to
the
baby
wildebeest.
The
strong
hippo
uses
its
body
to
stop
the
baby
wildebeests
scary
ride
in
the
river.
It
takes
the
baby
wildebeest
to
the
other
side
of
the
river.
Yule
and
other
onlookers
watch
the
scene(场面)
in
surprise.
“I
have
never
▲
like
this,”
he
says.
The
baby
wildebeest
reaches
the
other
bank
and
runs
to
join
its
group.
Yule
thinks
the
hippo
may
be
too
tired
for
its
brave
action.
However,
it
goes
back
into
the
river
to
keep
a
watchful
eye.
“Animals
are
changeable,
and
each
one
has
its
own
character,”
Yule
says.
“This
hippos
instinct
is
to
help
those
that
need
help.
Its
just
like
helpful
people
who
say
‘Not
on
my
watch!’
as
they
help
others.”
