Lesson 58：Ms.Liu’s Speech          

一、语篇研读

What：本文是中国学校的一个场景，是刘老师在毕业典礼上的一段教师代表发言。课文中，刘老师先表达了自己看完赠言后的感受，然后表达了老师鼓励学生努力学习，勇敢面对困难，祝福和祝贺。

Why：这是一篇比较典型的演讲稿，具备典型的演讲稿的语言特点。

How：同学们在阅读过程中体会到老师在发言稿的字里行间里流露出来的谆谆教诲，从而体会到老师对学生们的深厚情谊。学生在阅读和学习的过程中获取成长的感悟，形成积极的生活态度。

二、教学目标

通过本课的学习，学生能够：

1. Grasp the key words and expressions of this lesson.
2. Read and understand Ms.Liu’s speech.
3. Write a speech in English.
4. Learn to be grateful and cherish time.

三、教学过程

Step1: Warm up and lead in

Enjoy speech of a great man that we spent together to arouse the students’ interest of learning. Next time is free talk, asking a few questions for students to answer.

Eg:

1.How did you do in junior high school?

2.What will you say to your classmates when you graduate?

3.What is your most unforgettable memory from junior high school?

【Students activities】:  Enjoy speech of a great man.

【Design Intention】: lead in the new class by the speech and pictures.

Step2: new words

Show some pictures, make some sentences and know the new words and        phrase:peech,period,valuable,achieve,behalf,congratulation

【Students activities】:Learn new words  in the lesson by heart and try to remember them.

【Design Intention】:To understand the text well and try to remember the new word.

 

Step3: Listening and imitate
