My day didn't begin well when I discovered water coming out of the washing machine had destroyed my brand-new carpet(地毯). So, I shouted angrily at my husband, who played card games last night instead of repairing the washing machine.

Then, I saw my six-year-old son Jonathan touching a limb(枝于) of my azalea(杜花) bush.Before l could stop it, he'd broken it. “Can I take the flowers to school today?” he asked. With a wave of my hand, I sent him off.  turned my back so that he wouldn't see the tears gathering in my eyes.

lt was days like this that made me want to give up. l just wanted to drive up to the mountains, hide in a cave, and never come out.

The rest of the day, l washed and dried clothes, thinking how love had disappeared from my life. Then, I looked at the clock. lt was 2:30. I was late. Jonathan's class finished at 2:15 and I hurriedly drove to the school.

     I was out of breath when l arrived at the teacher's door. The teacher rushed through the door and took me aside. “l want to talk to you about Jonathan, she said prepared herself for the worst.

    “Did you know Jonathan brought flowers to school today?” she asked. I nodded, thinking about my favorite azalea bush. “let me tell you about yesterday, the teacher said. “See that little girl?”I noticed a bright-eyed girl laughing there. I nodded.

"Well, her parents are always quarreling. Yesterday, she told me she didn't want to live. watched her bury her face in her hands and say loud enough for the class to hear. 'Nobody loves me.' I did all I could to comfort her, but it only seemed to make things worse.” “Did Jonathan do anything to help?” I asked.“Yes," the teacher said firmly.
