Passage 1

Everyone should pull their own weight, do their fair share of housework, and should know how to perform basic life skills. However, in some parts of the world, household chores are still seen as something that only women do. leaving some men unwilling or even unable to do them when needed.

A school in Vigo, Spain. called Colegio Montecastelo, is introducing special classes that teach boys and young men basic life skills, including cleaning, cooking, and even sewing. These classes are expected to prepare the boys for housework which is usually done by women.

Gabriel Bravo from the school believes this will help the young boys become better.“It seems very useful for our students to learn to perform these skills so that. when they form a family they know how to create a better home." Bravo said.

The classes are taught by teachers and volunteers at Colegio Montecastelo. Interestingly, even the fathers of the students help out and learn some new skills from the lessons themselves.

According to Bravo, the classes are introduced to encourage gender equality(性别平等)and make boys more independent and able to help out at home Luckily, we have got some good news.Bravo says that the boys enjoy learning new things.He even points out that it is the first time for some boys to use an tron(熨斗). And it is surely a fun and educational experience for everyone according to him.

Not surprisingly,people are hoping that more schools will follow Colegio Montecastelo in an effort to encourage gender equality.
