该部分的活动主题是“在旅行中谈论风景与文化”(Talk about scenery and culture along a journey )，通过听说活动引领学生进一步了解加拿大的自然地理概况和社会风貌，并融入文化对比，提及北京——莫斯科长途火车旅行路线。在此基础上，该部分激活学生相关旅行体验，让学生续编对话，进一步引导学生探索长途旅行的乐趣和意义，并进行中外文化对比。

Step 1 Lead-in

老师通过带领学生回顾读思板块的课文，引入本节课的话题。

Step 2 Pre-listening

让学生观察课本活动1中的图片，预测接下来的对话内容。

Step 3 While-listening

1. 让学生听录音，回答下列问题。

 What do people do when Lake Louise freezes over in winter?

 What does Anna say about Canadian summers?

 How far is it from Edmonton to Winnipeg?

 What kinds of things do people do in Winnipeg?

 What other long rail journey have Li Daiyu and Liu Qian taken?

2. 老师带领学生学习活动2旁的听力策略，理解俚语；紧接着播放录音，让学生完成活动3的匹配练习。
3. 让学生听录音，将录音材料补充完整。

Step 4 Post-listening (Speaking)

1. 请三个学生分角色朗读活动4中的示范对话，老师通过提问引导学生进一步讨论听力对话的内容，为完成后面的接续对话作准备。

 What did Li Daiyu and Liu Qian talk about in the conversation?

 Where have you travelled in China? What places impressed you most?

 How would you continue and end the conversation?

2. 引导学生关注本部分提供的口语功能项目和语言提示。
3. 让学生三人一组创编并表演对话。

Step 5 Homework

Choose several idioms we have learnt today to make sentences.

Give a short report talking about what you have learnt from your conversation.
