The analysis of the teaching contents:

The topic of this unit mainly talks about the ownership and today's part mainly review what we have learned in this unit. It aims to check the students’ understanding of the target words, phrases and sentence structures. It includes some kinds of balls, different kinds of sports, and some description words. More importantly, it helps the students consolidate the ways to ask for others’ sports things and their opinions for sports. Also, students need to grasp the usage of “but” in real contexts. Thus, in order to make the students fully interested in the contents, I make the following objectives.

The analysis of the teaching objects:

My teaching objects are the students in junior grade 1 in a middle school. Most of them can make conversations with simple sentences. But, they are dependent on the teacher and lack of independence when finishing tasks. So it is very necessary for the teacher to guide and help them. In addition, the teacher should also help the students to build their knowledge system and encourage them to communicate more with each other to develop their sense of group cooperation.

Teaching objectives

Linguistic competence :

 1. Review the words about sports: 

tennis ball ping-pong bat soccer soccer ball volleyball basketball

2. Review the description words:

  boring, fun, difficult, relaxing, interesting, easy

3. Review the sentence structures:

 ---Do you have a ping-pong bat?---Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.

---Does he/she have a soccer ball ?

---Yes, he/she does./No, he/she doesn’t.

---I have a basketball, but I don’t have a volleyball.

 ---He has a tennis ball, but he doesn’t have a soccer ball.

Learning competence :

Students will be able to use the speaking and writing skills to extract the useful information and express their opinions.

Thinking quality:

1. Students will be able to express their ideas about sports.

2. Students will be able to develop good habits of doing sports.

Cultural awareness :

  Students will develop the cross-cultural communication awareness by learning different sports in different countries.

1. Be able to distinguish different kinds of balls and sports by putting the  

sports and sports equipment into the correct columns.

2. To talk about the their own opinions about sports by using the description  

words.

3. To use conjunction word “ but” in real contexts.
