Voice Your Opinion on Sportsmanship

Teaching Objectives:

1. Students will be able to express their opinions on sportsmanship in English.

2. Students will understand the importance of sportsmanship in various aspects of life.

3. Students will be able to analyze different scenarios and provide examples of sportsmanship.

 

Teaching Time: 45 minutes

 

Preparation:

1. Prepare a list of questions related to sportsmanship for discussion.

2. Create handouts with vocabulary related to sportsmanship.

3. Record a sample conversation between students to use as a model for class participation.

 

Instructional Process:

I. Warm-up (5 minutes)

1. Greet students and ask them about their favorite sports or athletes.

2. Share some examples of sportsmanship from the previous class discussion.

 

II. Listening and Speaking (20 minutes)

1. Ask students to listen to a short audio clip of a sports event where sportsmanship was demonstrated.

2. After listening, ask students to share what they heard and what they think about the sportsmanship shown in the video.

3. Encourage students to express their opinions in English, using complete sentences and appropriate vocabulary.

4. Facilitate a group discussion on the importance of sportsmanship in various aspects of life, such as school, work, and personal relationships.

 

III. Reading and Understanding (10 minutes)

1. Distribute the handout with vocabulary related to sportsmanship.

2. Have students read the definitions and practice using them in sentences.

3. Ask students to share one example of a situation where they demonstrated sportsmanship and explain why it was important.
