Invite a Friend to a Sports Event

Objective: Through this lesson, students will be able to express their willingness to invite a friend to a sports event in English and understand the importance of socializing and participating in physical activities.

 

Teaching Points:

1. Vocabulary related to inviting friends and sports events

2. Understanding the benefits of socializing and participating in physical activities

3. Expressing willingness in English

 

Key Points & Difficulties:

1. Students will have difficulty using advanced vocabulary and idiomatic expressions in their conversations.

2. Students may struggle with expressing their enthusiasm for sports events in English.

 

Teaching Process:

1. Warm-up (5 minutes)

   - Greet students and ask them about their plans for the weekend.

   - Encourage students to discuss any upcoming sports events they are interested in attending.

 

2. Presentation (10 minutes)

   - Introduce new vocabulary related to inviting friends and sports events, such as "invitation," "participate," "socialize," "sports event," etc.

   - Explain the importance of socializing and participating in physical activities, both for mental and physical health.

   - Discuss the benefits of attending sports events with friends, such as teamwork, camaraderie, and fun.

 

3. Practice (15 minutes)

   - Divide students into pairs and assign each pair a specific sports event to invite a friend to attend.

   - Ask students to use the vocabulary and idiomatic expressions learned in the presentation to create an invitation message in English.

   - Encourage students to practice their conversation skills by having mock conversations with their partners.
