Not enough room
Mom says a new baby is coming soon. So my sister Kris and I have to share one room.
“Oh, no! I want my own room,” cries my sister.
“Look at this drawing,” I say to Kris. “Your own room will look like this: a rectangular (长方形) room. We can make our own rooms with sticky tape (胶带).”
We move our beds and make two rectangular rooms with sticky tape. But they look quite small.
Maybe a triangular (三角形) room is better. “We can make two rooms like this,” I tell Kris.
We move our beds again. We make two triangular rooms with sticky tape. “We must move back!” I say to Kris. “The corners are small in a room like this!”
So we move things here and we move things there, back to two rectangular rooms again.
“I need some rest!” my sister says. “Oh, no!” I say. “We must move once more. You need a window and I need a door!”
So we move our things again. Kris says, “Listen, Pat! No more moving and that is that (就这样了)!”
And soon Mom says, “Girls, close your eyes! I have a gift for you!”
Now my sister and I never need tape. Our big square room is the very best shape!
