On 20 February 2021，Jasmine Harrison，who's from England，without lots of experience in rowing long distances，became the youngest woman to row alone across the Atlantic Ocean.It took her 70 days,3 hours and 48 minutes to reach the end of the journey.

Every year，rowers taking part in the Atlantic Campaign set off from the Canary Islands and row about 3,000 miles across the Atlantic.Some do the rowing in teams of two，three，or four.Others，like Ms Harrison，row by themselves.Every day，Harrison would row for about 12 hours，pushing her 550 pound boat across the ocean.On her journey，Ms Harrison said she survived (生存) just on cookies and chocolate.When asked what she was looking forward to the most，she said，“Food.Definitely food.”

Harrison had a satellite phone that allowed her to talk with her family and friends every day.But the journey still left her with a lot of time all by herself，which she said she enjoyed.But things got a little harder after her speaker fell in the water and she could no longer listen to her music.

She had other company along the way.She saw several whales.For several days，she was followed by a small group of dolphins.“It's just amazing，” she said.But there was danger，too.Twice，her boat turned over in the night by large waves，and she hurt her arm quite badly.Another time，she nearly ran into a ship.Somehow，she kept going.Finally，she was taking her first steps on land in over two months.

Ms Harrison's trip didn't just set a record; it also raised over ￡18,500 for two charities：Blue Marine Foundation，which works to control overfishing，and ShelterBox，which helps people who have suffered from natural disasters.

Spreading joy(快乐)and bringing a smile to hospitalized children across the country has been the mission(任务)of New Jersey­based toy company：Open the Joy.

The toy company was founded in 2019.It produces different kinds of tools used for arts and crafts activities，which focused on the well­being and emotional(情感的)health of kids.

“Our collection is really focused on improving the emotional health of kids.We work very

closely with hospitals when choosing things that create a relaxing environment for kids in the hospital，”said Shalini Samtani，founder of Open the Joy.

It was during the hospitalization of her 6­month­old child，who had a rare disease(罕见的疾病)for which there is no known workable treatment，that Shalini and her husband were inspired(激励)to create a company that would serve the physical and emotional needs of hospitalized children.

The Joy boxes，which include anything from coloring books，crayons，paints，clay，and toys，are designed to please，educate，and excite joy in children of all ages.

“As care providers，it is important for us to know that not only are we doing our job in treating their illness，but we're also doing our job in treating their happiness，”said Tasha Dunn，nurse at Saint Peter's Hospital.

Their mission to continue brightening the days of hospitalized children has inspired a team of volunteers to join in and meet every month to put different things in the Joy boxes.

These Joy boxes are then taken to partner hospitals and sent to the young patients at their bedside.

“If we can just bring a little more joy to kids in a hospital setting，we're just thankful for the chance to be of service，” said Shalini.
